STOCK ROM - Optimus One, P500, V General

Can ny one help me with getting a stock rom for LG P500 India.
I am new to this stuff and didnt make a nandroid backup for my phone before rooting it and removing the annoying bloatware.I tried a factory reset but it didint restore the system apps i deleted.
I am thinking of using the kdz updater but the cant get my hand on ny of the p500 firmwares using the links in the post by THE_ERROR ,all the links return dead for me.
Can ny one tell me another source to get a stock rom so i can make a nandroid backup this time and switch to custom roms.
(My p500 came with a v10c froyo and i used gingerbreak for the root)

since u already have recovery installed just download the clockowrk mod 3.1.0.0 from here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1065197 |transfer the file to ur sd card and flash the zip from recovery reboot |Done! u have the latest recovery installed
as far as rom is concerned cm7 is all time favorite for most
here is the installatin procedure http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1038338 using clockwork whch wrk the best njoy just avoid the sd partition step if u dont want a2sd stuff or read the specific rom installation instruction which requires parttioning sd card, cm7 can be installed without partitioning ur sd

No need to wipe anything.
Backups are always handy. But be aware that backup done by amonra or cwm are not compatible to each other. That means backup taken by any recovery will only be restored with same recovery.

what i did wrong?
You have to toggle signature verification off from recovery. I hope u have that on thunderg. The zip is not signed.

That zip file is for amonra recovery which doesn't have an option for formatting system. In cwm recovery, you have the format system option.
Flashing doesn't lead to bricking normally.
And all custom roms are always rooted.

I'm sorry if I'm wrong, because I've never used cm7. But from some screenshots I've seen it seems that you can change what icons appear in the notification area. I'm not sure though.

go to cyanogenmod settings and there is something like interface (i don't know exactly, because i don't have it in phone right now), but you can certainly change icons in the notification area.
Settings>CM Settings>Interface>Notification Power Widget>Many options>Enjoy.
thanks solved the network issue.. but as i tried to open the market it just popup for a second and close .. so unable to download anything from market...btw is it ok to flash franco.kernel v14 with cm7 .. do i need to wipe anything before flashing?
no. I just flashed. you can wipe cache+dalvik if you want. check for two files mentioned in franco's thread. if you have them, You HAVE to delete them before flashing. if you dont, just flash. you need setCPU to change the CPU freq coz CM OC screen does not display at the moment. battery and smoothness is great.

I flashed Franco kernel too, half an hour before. But I didn't check for those two files. But the phone is functioning fine.
Are those two files to be deleted are meant for everyone or for those who have previously flashed Franco kernel?

What could be to the phone if there is no service when on custom rom?

Hi, I have LG P500 Optimus one. I recently have rooted this phones and installedClocworkMod Recovery v5.0.2.0. The thing is, then i install custom rom there is no service on my phone. When I restore origina one everything is good. So what's wrong? I install roms as written ( I try to choose those, which are simple to install) and "No Service".

It could be possible that the ROM also includes a radio that is not compatible with your service provider. Although mosts ROM's do not include a radio, there are some that do.
Or you could require a specific radio for the rom to work. Read further into the thread for whatever rom you're trying to flash.

I am totally new in this business so how to tell if my phone support old baseband or new baseband? Then I bought it it was froyo 2.2.2 i dont remember the software version now, and į upgrade it to gingerbread? Can an update cause my this problem?
Probably need to find a rom that is made for gingerbread. Depends on device how many you will find. You find what radio your using in settings/about phone. Also they have reverts for some phones to get back older radios, opening up more rom possibilities. Hope that's helpful.-B-rye

I accidently formatted my MicroSD card and I lost nand Backup of my original rom. Now I can't use my phone and in settings present rom says: Baseband Unknown
Thanks for support and help. I installed ROM openOptimus as I recall, and it vased on 2.3.3 and and now i got signal!

[Q] Gingerbread downgrade to froyo

Hi guys,
I need some help please.
Im currently running a
GB 2.3.3
Kernel version 2.6.35.10-perf+
V20g -
Im planning to downgrade it to froyo for the following reasons.
1. To easily root the phone
2. To easily get tun.ko for vpn use.to connect to the internet.
Thats all masters.
Do i need to downgrade or there's a way for those things without downgrading.

thanks a lot sir..
ill go for downgrading to froyo.
after i downgrade? i will downgrade also the baseband?
Id recommend using LG tools, kdz flasher I here has problems. Than again I've never used it so I can't tell you from experience but I can give you a place to start
Don't use xda's app search function, its useless instead use Google search queries
Go to android development, than to stickies.. the first post is what you need. Its a post by ciaox that night do you justice, also right underneath it is another post with alot of info but I believe its outdated
Also look for sweetnsour's post, I think its under general section stickies..

well, if you still got the warranty then contact lg service centre and tell them to downgrade from Gb to Froyo2.2.2
they may tell you that there is a slight chance of bricking but they will also tell you that not to update after downgrading
And Viola!!
You will get stock froyo on your phone without any hassle, all things working and no chance of bricking your phone by yourself and no baseband problem
Followed it and no problems till yet, currently on Mike's CM7 6.5.8
And to root, just use gingerbreak
2 methods to manually do it.
1. kdz (risky in my view as i briked my phone once with it) (search xda to follow)
2. lgmdp (i feel safe method) ( to flash froyo of your choice follow http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=19006040#post19006040
or
to flash indian froyo v10e 2.2.2 follow http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1324105)
and once u successfully flashed using any of the above method no need to flash baseband separately, it will be done by the tool while flashing process itself.

[Q] Optimus T no service after root

Hey guys, I just recently rooted a buddy of mines Optimus T from T-Mobile using Gingerbreak. Everything went fine until I try loading a custom ROM. while on a custom ROM he gets no service at all but when I nandroid back to his orginal unrooted stock ROM his service returns. Anyone have a clue why? Thanks in advance for your time. Since Im a 3VO guy i dont hang around these threads so if you could please PM me with any answers u have
My guess would be that the custom rom you are trying to flash requires a different baseband than the one currently on the phone. Given that you are using the Optimus T, you must be using the old baseband. If you are trying to flash one of the recent custom roms, you probably need to flash the new baseband. How-to:

Find out the partition block for your device and use dd commands to pull it, if your not sure definitely research first as dd commands can be dangerous

Why are you still on stock rom???
You can easily take a backup of your imei with 5iromtoolbox , but you must be root your phone or flash a custom rom based on GB , then easily you can take a backup of your imei.
U8800pro it's not a difficult phone to flash roms and return back to stock or anything.

I already made a backup with 5iromtootlbox..already reawd pika's tutorial! I was just fishing for any alternative methods as an added precaution.. I'm still on stock..because every ROM seems to have some issue or the other.. so.. I actively use Bluetooth, GPS and my sdcard.. so being stuck with one of them not working isn't ideal for my usage. but thank you so much for your time... BTW I had few questions about 5iromtoolbox.. suppose I did a backup on GB.. can't I restore it an ICS or JB for that matter?

Yes you can restore your imei on any baseband (froyo,gb,ics,jb)... personally i restore my froyo imei backup on ics.
What kind of problems did you read for custom roms based on GB? ???
If you flash a custom GB based rom you will never return to official , and of you put CWM recovery you can easily take a backup of your official rom to return back to official very easily in 5 minutes.
You loosing time and your phone is sooooooo slooooow.
Just ask for help and we're ready to help you.
The next step, you must do is to replace "recovery.img" with CWM recovery 5.0.2.7 , then take a backup of your current stock rom , save it to your pc, and you're ready to goooo .....

If you can use root explorer and if you can perform overwrite option then it is easy.
You can be on stock rom. But it is advisable to root and enable write option.
Find out where is the imei located in your rom folder. In my phones both Micromax canvas 4 A210 and in Spice mi- 535 it is located in the folder /device/data/nvram.
I copied it and saved in external sdcard as well as in my laptop.
When ever I loose it after flashing of custom Rom I repaste and perform over writing using root explorer.
Sometime with mobile uncle tool it will take several attempt though it is auto save and recover.
In this manual procedure it becomes less time taken.
The correct folder has to be saved and restored.
With best wishes.
