MMS problem - Hero, G2 Touch Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi,
Does anyone has problems sending MMS ? Since I started using Android 2.3.4 the problem arrived. Not sure if it's a wrong setting on my phone or a kernel bug. I am currently using Elelinux's rom v2.5.
I have double checked the MMS settings from my phone company and everything appears to be correct. It worked like a charm on my old Android 2.1.

have you deleted the stock mms.apk? that's what caused this for me.

[Q] Cant recieve MMS - SOLVED

There are quite a few threads on this issue...ive yet to find a solution that works for me. I started expericing this about a month ago when i was running Fusion1.1 (JI6). I remember someone telling me to factory wipe and reflash ROM
Well i finally did that recently, i flashed Axura JL5 and made the switch to that. Its still happening.
Funny thing is, when i use HandcentSMS, i cannot send or recieve. But if i use GOsms, i can send, but i just cant recieve.
ive tried the standard TMobile APN settings, and all the kill-throttle APN settings, but they dont change anything.
SOLUTION:
I deleted the default Mms.apk upon flashing Acura JL5. I had no idea that it was required for MMS functionality. Learn something new everyday

[Q] MMS Issue with X10

Hey Everyone,
I recently flashed my AT&T XPeria X10 to 2.1. The phone seems to have no other problems except that I am not able to send and receive MMS messages. I'm thinking it has something to do with the APN Settings or the firmware itself. Its running on 2.1.A.0.435
If anyone can help me, I would greatly appreciate it
Try pressing the sony ericsson button under settings and keep following the directions there. This might be a solution for u.
Sent from XDA Premium from my X10a rooted running 2.2.1 CM Rom from Rendeiro2005
It seems to be working fine now..Thanks alot …Sorry, I'm a noob at all of this still

[Q] MMS and manual network search in Minicm7 pro V19?

Hi,
I have a problem sending and receiving MMS on my X10 mini pro with stock kernel and Minicm7 Pro V19(http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1201116).
I cannot receive MMS, and when trying to send MMS it just stays on status "Sending". This problem is only when using the build in SMS/MMS applikation. If I use "Handcent SMS" then theres no problems.
Have anyone else gotten the build in MMS function working with this rom?
Another issue is searching for Network(Mobile Networks) manually. It does not work. I cannot find and references to X10mini pro problems, but found this where it states it is fixed in Cyanogen MiniCM7-2.1.2, but I cannot find any roms with this version yet.
http://code.google.com/p/minicm/issues/detail?id=303#c0
Any one else have this issue or a solution to it?
I would have posted this in the Rom thread, but I'm a new member and cannot post anything there yet:-(
Thanks in advance.
There are MMS issue in Cyanogen 7.1 itself, so all ROM's will have problems at the moment, this is the bug report filed for the official Cyanogen: http://code.google.com/p/cyanogenmod/issues/detail?id=3241
Not sure about the manual selection of networks, I have noticed that it doesn't work in GinTonic too.

Thanks for the info.
I cannot figure out if the network search problem is related to Minicm or Cyanogen, does anyone know this?

[Q] Question: Not Receiving TXT msgs

I am running SHIFTS3NS3 1.6 with lean kernel 5.01 set to normal...
Since last Friday I can not receive TXT msgs properly. I was using Chomp SMS and read all the threads that I could find and could not find anything about it.
Pulled battery, rebooted, cleared cache, installed 2 different SMS programs... received 2 TXT messages and then... nothing.
Does anyone have any suggestions?
Know of any threads that I have missed?
Thanks...
Did your phone get Unprogrammed? You may need to call in and activate it again. I had that happen to me once when I was flashing roms.
I can still make calls... I can send txt... Could it still be deactivated?
No if you can make calls you are fine. Could be an outage in your area I have had that happen before.
Try reseating the sim card

What Leak is SHIFTS3NS3 1.6 based off of. If it is a GB leak prior to 605.5 there is a known issue.
Some phones will receive some but not all SMS messages. The GB 605.5 leak seems to have corrected the issue.
If SHIFTS3NS3 1.6 is based off an older leak and you love it, extract the message.apk from 605.5 leak and install it on your phone
I was having this problem on a bunch of ROMS until they were updated
The 1.6 is based off the 605.3 so maybe that is what is causing it.. I have tried everything else listed... The Dev is said to update the ROM to the newest 605.5 soon... so I hope that will fix it. If I knew how to extract the message.apk from the new one I would do that too... but sadly I am not that far advanced yet.
Thanks,

No more Texting :(

So I found out that nobody is receiving my texts anymore on my vibrant. I upgraded to cm7 worked great then I did the nightly upgrade and it will still say its sent but people don't receive them. So I wiped everything started again upgraded to miui and I still have the same problem. Could there be something wrong with my network settings I messed with the testing setting a little (you know the *#*#4636#*#*) when i was tryin to fix the battery drain on cm7 which i never did
Make sure that your APNs are set correctly. There is one in there for data and wireless and also one for MMS. I find that when I have had problems like this in the past it has been due to those SMS/MMS settings being missed.
If i were you i'd just give TMO a call and ask what your APN is just to be sure that its not different or anything...
If i had this problem on more than one rom, i'd panic and do that right away.
I used to be a text-er like you, but then I took an arrow to the knee.
I sure hope, I'm not having the same problem.
