I am running the Comm Rom 2.0 and when I try to use my LP pro KEY it starts FC'ing. I can use the free version of LP just not the pro? All else runs FANTASTIC with this set up......
I have OTB1.4
Any Ideas?
Thanks!!
edit:
Nevermind...As always if you read a little you usually find the answers!! Thanks to all that contribute here! btw....In the answer I ounf that a lot of people here dont use Launcher Pro....What do you use then? I like the 7 screens and the transitions, but if there is something that works better I am all EARS!
I use ADW EX. The only thing it's missing from LP is the widgets, which you can't seem to get anyway lol. But it adds quite a bit, IMO

I use ADW but I had LP installed behind the scenes. After my first app restore I was experiencing the same issue. On my second build of 2.0 I chose not not restore LP and didn't encounter the issue.
I've been using LP+ for quite some time. Occasionally, after a new install it will FC when you first start the phone, but when it comes back, everything is fine. I'm experiencing it now, because I just installed ComRom 2.0, but after a few days it will settle in, and not FC at all.
In order to use the paid version you have to remove the .apk from system/app using Root Explorer. Reinstall Launcher Pro from market. Before removing make sure you have another launcher to use.
Adw Ex and Go Launcher are way better anyways.

- This is not a issue with ROMS, happens on both Nero and Axura.
soon as i reboot, and go on my phone, it opens up the GO LAUNCHER, when my default is launcher pro...
after its on go launcher, and i click home button it goes back to launcher pro... why does this happen every time i reboot? is it a problem with GO LAUNCHER?

I had the same problem and simply uninstalled Go.
ADWLauncher EX is very nice and worth the price.
I also have LauncherPro Plus and switch between the two.
k i uninstalled go launcher, i'll see if its working good, and i have both of those, and i use launcher pro, but i bought EX just because a bunch of people said its awesome, so yeah lol
Interestingly I have had exactly the same problem with Go and Launcher Pro, the current default. But it has only emerged in the last few days. Just trying to remember if it was around the same time as a Go upgrade, which does ring a bell. No biggie, just slightly annoying. And I don't want to uninstall Go as I have it set up as an ready alternative

You need to download some of the EX themes and explore the customization features.
Check out,Gingerbread,Eyefold,Symbian and AndroidPhone7 themes.
Those are all free and some include additional wallpapers and icon packs.
One of my favorite features is custom shortcuts.
Here's a YouTube link.

does anyone have an idea how to replace the ADWLauncher with the new one thats really awesome the spd 3d one everytime i try to load it manually and set it as default the stock adwl overwrites it and pops back up few minutes later, i even removed the ADWLauncher with root uninstall and then i had no access to settings on the phone and later on wouldnt start so i had to reflash it, if anyone could help would be nice
hrm
all i need to know is how to replace the ADWLauncher on Cyanogen 7mod on the Defy, with something else without damaging the settings and phone...
Delete adw from system/app with root explorer or freeze it with titanium backup

The truth that this is secondary, for now. All you need now is to cyanogen for all functions at 100%. I do not ask more than that, if sis isis
All I did was just install Launcher Pro Plus and it replaced ADW. Everything works smoothly now.

launcherpro is way better than ADW..
if launcherpro have grouping feature just like LG launcher,
and have change-icon feature.
it would be the best ever.
Currently in use Launcher Pro
I'm using Launcher 7 with cm7 without any problems
greetings
I'm using launcher pro since my old galaxy lite with 1.6.
Just flashed to 2.3.3 and I was hoping to use the default google home.
Does anyone knows why it's not included in CM?

CM has used ADW Launcher for ages now. It was back in CM5 (IIRC) and the general consensus from the users was that they preferred ADW over stock, and thus ADW became default.
Personally, I like ADW.
Launcher Pro the free one is better than ADW, but ADW launcher EX is better than Launcher. Personally , I like ADW more than Launcher Pro.
I use launcher pro since 2.1 stock rom and with CM7, it is just perfect for me, smooth, very easy to custom
I'm using Launcher Pro since ever.
It's the best Launcher available and it really runs smooth
and how many are out there?
mine: ADW EX
others: Launcher Pro Plus, Go Launcher, SPB SHELL, ADW, Etc.
There are plenty of threads that talk about the cons/pros. Search in the app section if you really want opinions, but you need to try them yourself.
I absolutely LOVE "SPB Shell 3D" it ran good on 2.2 or 2.2.1 you just had to let it set in, kinda like a ROM this launcher needed a little grace period on initial install to run smoothly. On any gingerbread 2.3 or higher I have not experienced any lag whatsoever and all the animations just fly! Seriously everyone should check this one out.

I'm a LauncherPro Plus guy...gets the job done for me...but the others are just as good
for a while i've stuck with launcher pro. but now, im simply using touchwiz 3.0
GO Launcher is great. It seems to do everything LauncherPro does and more. The GO SMS add on is nice, too.
ADW ex

As said above, you really just need to take a few for a test spin for a few days. I eventually came back to ADW-EX.

Good man.
If it's a snappiness you're looking for, Zeam is your launcher.
What is your guys ideas on the best launchers available? Which ones are the best for ICS themes, etc.?

I like GO Launcher and the other various apps that run smoothly with it. There are a lot of various ways to customize your launcher. The only other one that I've used, besides stock, was ADW Launcher. Try a few out. No harm in that. Then check out Ashlepedia's thread in the General section on how to push your launcher app to the /system/app folder. That way, as a system folder, you won't lose the launcher on a data wipe. You can either delete the old launcher or add .bak at the end so you don't have two launchers running at the same time. Ash's thread will explain better. O, and GO launcher has ICS theme.

Widget locker has amazing ics lockscreens. Its what I use and it is exactly the same as the real one. I use adw ex. It has implemented a few ics features which is really nice. I like go launcher as well but I just prefer adw. Try a few out and you will get a feeling for which one you like best.

I have had the best luck with Launcher Pro. Extremely customizable, low battery use, lots of places to put things. The dock with Launcher Pro is very versatile with many slots for items.
I just SBFed last night and pushed Eclipse 2.0.3 on my DX2, Launcher Pro backs up your screen items and then restores them even after that. I install all of my apps, then Launcher pro, then just choose Restore settings, and poof, back in business without the need to re-arrange everything.

If you like it, please buy it. It is more than worth the price.

+1 for Go Launcher. It probably is the best launcher out. I keep coming back to that launcher and everything that goes with it because of all of the customization.
Ive been using ADW (Paid versions) off and on since Ive had this phone. I've downloaded Go Launcher before and messed around with it but I have never customized it and used it as my every day launcher until yesterday. I have to say, Go Launcher, for some reason, feels more snappier and responsive than ADW.
Go Launcher is my choice too. I used to use Launcher Pro (long time user). It's a decent launcher too but for some reason it started hanging at times. Couldn't do anything for 5 seconds or more. No doubt it was causing it either. Shut it down and the hangs would quit happening. Also, the program hasn't been updated since last May. They keep saying there's a rewrite in the works but they've been saying that since last June or July. At the moment, it appears to me that it's pretty much abandonware now.
Anyway, I switched to Go Launcher a couple months ago and have never looked back. Has all the dock functions of Launcher Pro and more. The themes are great, it's snappy and, well, just works well. Just my 2 cents worth.
zeam launcher is my fav although it isnt an ics wannabe. not a resource hog like all the other launchers and only a few hundred kilobyte download.
Ive since redownloaded go launcher ex and bought ics pro theme for it. Im very pleased! Although I like the simplicity of adw, go launcher just seems more complete.

Go laucher is good. Best speed in my opinion for a launcher
I have tried go and adw. Used to use go but kinda laggy to me but liked all the customization. Adw free was fast but didn't customize well in my opinion. Adw paid was on sale for 10 cents so got out and love it has most of the features of go but runs much faster. Every once in a while it redraws but think it's more of a memory issue cause it usually does it after playing a game or something.

had adw then got go an never looked back the best to me out there
I really liked go launcher for a loooong time but I decided to deal with ADW for a while since in came with the CM7 rom and honestly, It grows on you. A lot more options and hard key replacements. Also, I always hated the ugly menu in go launcher but thats gone now I would say try ADW for a good week before you make a decision.
And adw ex paid is even better than reg adw
QQ launcher is great.
Mixer themed cm7 X duce
ADW EX (has a great free ICS theme) or SPB Shell 3D. GO is ok but sometimes it gets a little wonky.

+1 as well for Go Launcher EX. Plus, the ICS theme is really nice for it.
I also like how with Go Launcher, I can long press on my home screen, select applications and then it lets me pick one or more apps I want to place on the screen, rather than having to drag each application one at a time. I have yet to see any of the other launchers do this.
And, on CM7 Beta, it is REALLY snappy.
I have looked around at many launchers and my favorite is adw launcher from CM7. I will upload the apk as soon as I have a chance. Go launcher is also good though

I'm having problems with scrolling widgets recognising touch no matter what rom I'm using and this only seems to happen with adw, other launchers don't seem to have this issue. I use the Gmail widget all the time and this is something that I really would love to find an answer for. I've tried turning off gestures in the settings but the issue remains :-( .
Are any of you experiencing similar issues with adw? I'd really like to know if this is a known issue, or something tailored to my myself. Google didn't help much..........

more info. What ROM are you on? Did it just start, or did something precede the problem? Do you have the latest version of ADW from the market? Details!
Also, have you gone into the ADW settings and restored? You'll have to rebuild everything, but that might solve the problem.
I abandoned the ADW launcher after several FCs on start up running the GTask 13.1! (all versions before 10.1 worked fine)
I'm using the Go Launcher EX, until discover the solution for those FCs.
Hi,
Thank you for your reply. I am using an ics rom at the moment but the same issue remained with any other rom I have run so far. The launcher is the latest and an up to date version the restore function I have tried before and again just now but the issue remains . I'm stumped.
Any help with this is greatly appreciated.

any news on this? I've got the same problem on my motorola xoom :/ While using the ADW launcher, WIZZ widgets sometimes scroll, sometimes not. Even if they do scroll down it's quite stuttering and slow (compared to how it works on the "stock launcher"). This is quite annoying and tbh a reason for me to switch back to stock :/

Hi
WIZZ shouldn't be used with ADW launcher, you should use : "Colorize widget"
it's from the same creator, but it is the version for people using ADW (or Go) launcher. The widgets are working very well with this one
