Target Will Give $150 for Evo 4g if buy 3D - HTC EVO 3D

Evo 3D for $50 with Evo 4G trade at Target
Not sure if this has been posted, but Target seems to have a good deal if you are trading in your Evo 4G for the Evo 3D. They will give you credit for $150 towards the purchase of Evo 3D.

Not sure how much off contract, but if it's anything like best buy, then it'll be around $600.

Problem with this that it takes 3 billing cycle if you send your phone in. If you take to store, it's immediate. I'd rather get the trade in immediately and just buy from any of the stores that gives $150.
Will try ebay or craigslist first so I won't have to pay at all.

Will Target do MIR or instan discounts on contract extensions?
My phone is pretty beat up and but works. I dont have the original charger or battery but i have a charger/batt. how picky are they?

Hmm, I just left target and they said they could give 130 dollar credits and u would still be paying about 80 bucks out of pocket. That ain't cool. She wanted me to go ahead and sign up for the pre order. I told her I could sell my 4G on Craigslist for 220 buy the 3d and have a coke and a smile all at the same time. She was lost for words.

[Q] Radio Shack $75 smartphone trade in

I have called two Radio Shacks about this and not surprisingly they were clueless on the details. From the Radio Shack site:
Trade-in offer good 6/24 - 7/31/2011. $75 offer valid on select smartphones only. To be eligible, the phone must power on, cannot be PIN locked and must be in fully functional, working condition without any broken components, including, but not limited to, cracked display. In addition, the cell phone housing or casing cannot be cracked or broken, and neither the display nor the housing can exhibit any signs of liquid damage: Limit 1 per customer.

My Hero that has been beat to **** actually meets that criteria and I'd take $75 for it in a heartbeat. So...which phones are the "select smartphones" they reference? Is the Hero one of them?
When I called RadioShack, the guy I spoke with said the store has a list of phones 'guaranteed' to get $75 and that it was 'quite a few'. Unfortunately for me, an old HTC Touch Pro2 was not on that list .
I've been wondering the same thing because I would trade it no doubt for $75
if the list has been published, it'd be helpful! I have a htc snap, touch pro, centro, htc vogue that i'd love to get rid of for $75... total
Actually have a Question for you guys, if I take a Samsung Epic today will they traded in for a Gift Card?
The trade in right know is 140 for the Epic 4G... What do you think?
BTW.. The Epic is not in my name, it was a gift but it cannot be activated because the person has not pay the last bill, and the phone shows active.

Radio shack told me that my cdma hero would only get $52 Max from their buyback program. However, the guy seemed to be clueless as it took him 30 minutes to complete 2 Evo 3d preorders.
Can someone please post the $75 list if you have it?
Also, does it mention anything about the trade ins being stock/rooted?
EDIT. Signing up for RS email gets you a $10 off coupon. Maybe/maybe not work for Evo 3d as it says "May not be valid on certain other discounts." Whatever that means... worth a shot, I guess.
2.3.4 on a Hero? Yup
I just checked out my local RadioShack on 3rd Avenue in New York City and they had the list of cell phones that qualified for the $75 credit. Unfortunately the HTC Hero was not listed
See attached picture for the complete list posted at this RadioShack.
What a scam! $75 is theft for most of those phones!

Sprint has their own buyback program that you can use as a credit toward you account. They are currently offering $150 for the original EVO! I'm using that and my $45 "stay with us" credit they just gave me on top of my upgrade...which will land me the 3D for $5! Check Sprint's buyback program and see how much they will give you for your phones: https://secure2.sprintbuyback.com/consumer/
They also accept phones from other carriers...

Better than nothing...and probably better than what anybody would give you for that phone! Hahaha! I paid $450 for the EVO on launch day because I bought the Hero on it's launch day with my upgrade and wasn't eligible for an upgrade in June when the EVO launched...I couldn't stand one more moment with the Hero! Sprint gave me $80 for it a year ago...win-win if you ask me!

[Q] Radio Shack Trade in price?

So I'm a little confused about the whole trade in price of the original Evo 4G. According to the ad is states that they are giving $100 toward the purchase of the Evo 3d, but on Radio Shack's website the trade in value for an Evo in excellent condition is $158. If anyone that works for Radio Shack could answer this it would be greatly appreciated. I was actually thinking about trading in my Evo tomorrow to see what the value would be.

I just called my radio shack. They will only do the $100. I told them the site says $158. They said they can't price match it when it comes to the 3d purchase because it has come from corporate. So maybe trade in for a different phone. Return it after 15 seconds and get the 3d? Me, I'm just going to sprint first thing in the am and if they have stock I'll just get it there and use my RS gift card for accessories.
Not much use in a RS thread, but my local sprint store is giving 150... and I don't even have to unroot. Keep the SD card and charger... just hand over the phone
NO NO NO NO!!!! guys! i worked at the shack and now dont lol. SO! heres what you do! You trade in your EVO for the regular trade in price of 158, you DO NOT trade it in towards your evo3d that will only get you your 100 trade in.... so go in and say hey i wanna trade in this phone, it should still be 158 till at least thursday or friday then im sure it will plummet, i traded mine in for the 158 and then used 50 of the trade in to preorder it =) soooo theres your insider tip!
Did just that at the Sprint store today. Gave them my rooted OG Evo for a $150 credit. Kept sd card and charger. No issues at all.

RS sales associate here. We got a notification from corporate yesterday saying that if the traded in phone is worth more with a normal trade in, the higher price will be honored. The $100 is basically for phones that have damage to the point where the traded in value will be below $100 (same goes for the $75 deal too). If your evo is in good enough condition, the $158 trade in value will be honored.

Well I just went to a Sprint store to pre-order my 3d and two different reps had mentioned to me that I should turn my phone in today as they are unsure the $150 price will stick tomorrow on trade-in. So i'm going back after work to turn it in. Cause well they wouldn't say that if wasn't going to happen and I would rather get the $150 instead who knows. Used to work at the Sprint HQ for years.

Anyone know how Sprint is handling buyback (recycling) of Evo 4G?

I went to the Sprint store today and asked about the buyback program and my Evo 4G. She just asked for my phone number and started typing.. then asked if i pre-ordered the Evo 3D.. i said yes. She kept typing then told me to just come in 2morrow when i pick up the Evo 3D and tell them i want to recycle my phone and i will get $150. She didnt even look at my beat up (but working) Evo 4G.
Im not sure if she put a note on my account or what but she sounded so certain that i bring it in and get my $150 credit. Anyone know for sure?
I hope i get her when i get my Evo 3D tomorrow.. im doubtfull it will be that easy and that they are giving $150 for any working Evo... if so.. winning!
Sprint will give 150 for the EVO and 115 for the EVO Shift...I know-I work for Sprint. They always offer this as well for those that did not know. Also, you can trade up to three phones to really drive that out of pocket cost down.

I am pretty sure if your EVO is not majorly damaged, i.e broken glass, and it turns on, you will get $150 dollars credit on your account for trading it in. EVO 3D for $50 with full upgrade credit.
I guess ill find out tomorrow hehe Thanks for the help.
I wasn't gonna do that...I was gonna sell my evo 4g and accessories on craigslist but I have been reconsidering it....sell the evo to sprint for the 150 and the accessories for 50.
I have an otterbox commuter, HDMI cable, spare batteries, and a stand alone battery charger.
Think all of that is worth 50 bux?
Do they care about sending in the battery? I have two Evos (one upgraded to a 3D) and it would be great to keep the battery as a spare.

Where I am CL is saturated with them. Over 18 were posted for sale today alone.
I know you leave some money on the table, but the Sprint deal isn't so bad, and with alot less headache and waiting. I was going to go this root but I'm not as excited about the 3D as much anymore so I'm going to keep my Evo.
I dont think you can get more than $200 on craigslist for the Evo 4G and on top of that the internet is probably flooded with people trying to sell their old Evos.. so lots of competition. A few weeks ago people were selling them on ebay/CL for $200+ easily... but now that will just get harder and harder.
I sure hope its easy for me to get my $150.. my phone is beat up and rooted.. but as i said it works and the woman made it seem like id surely/easily get the full $150 credited to my account tomorrow.
I would of traded it on the spot if she asked offered.. but she told me to do it when i pick up my 3D. I hope the quote doesnt go down tomorrow... it shouldnt since every other retailer is offering $150 for the Evo 4g.
fyi..

And while you're there, tell them if you are a AAA member or you are a member of a credit union. If so, that's 10% off your monthly bill.
Have a friend still using an iPhone 3GS or iPhone 4? Tell them to dump it and go with Sprint. They'll get about $135 for their old iPhone 3GS (more for the iPhone 4) and $125 for porting their old AT&T number over to Sprint so Sprint will actually pay THEM to own an Evo 3D.
They've also been giving Sprint Premier Silver members the full upgrade price even though you've only had your Evo 4G for a year. Sprint is running so many great deals right now, most people should be able to get an Evo 3D for just about free if not better.

This. I think I got like $240 shipped for mine on Craigslist.
Selling off my 3 Epics, so I got mine for free. BAHAHA. Trading in a phone is just a rip off program. You think it's a good deal, but you just don't know any better.
I don't know why Sprint is giving me such a hard time. I'm one year into my contract and have tried and tried. They want me to pay the full retail price. IMO it's not worth the retail price esp when I have an EVO. It's not worth all the hassle. I don't know what else to do. Hell I will sign a 3 year contract if they would cut me a little slack. I hope someone from Sprint sees this and contacts me.

Great E4GLTE price!

Most people know about this, but I want to remind anyone who is preordering. Walked into bestbuy this afternoon, was told by the cell phone tech that if you preorder the phone, you get $50 off the price, then when you buy it, you get a $50 gift card. I also am gonna trade my beat up OG EVO for $50. You can use the gift card towards the purchase of the phone, so that makes the phone cost $50!!!, then whatever activation and sales tax. Looking forward to getting my phone next week, and now even happier that I'm not breaking the bank.
Also, if you preordered from sprint, it takes about 10 minutes of being nice on the phone, and they will cancel your other preorder no problem. Just told them about the great deal, and they were like, hell, I would take that deal too!!!

Also for the Evo preorder we are not requiring a deposit but will give you a free 50.00 gift card when you pick your phone up.

Edit: Wrong thread! Sorry.
unfortunately every best buy isn't doing that, all the ones I went to, the price is 199 and 50 bucks down... guess u all are lucky!!!!
Awesome deal. One of my line is illegible for upgrade but its on old plan. If i go to best buy can they use that lines upgrade and port over the phone to my premium line?

You might be able to answer this. I did a preorder at best buy put down 50$ in the form of a GC. Since you mention it isn't required, any chance I could return the GC ( i buy mostly from amazon).
Also I did the preorder with wirefly, hence the reason for wanting to return GC.

Wow. People are really gonna trade in their old Evo? It is a masterpiece worthy of framing . Hell, I'm gonna have a hard time even activating my new new Evo.

I would've felt the same way. No way I would've been able to turn in my OG Evo. Could have kept it around as a backup phone, etc. Too much of a friend to just turn it in for a measly $50.
But Lucky for me (or Unlucky) I ended up dropping my OG Evo into a lake on Sunday, where it promptly sunk to the dark deep bottom.

Yeah, it's all kind of weird because a lot of us (myself included) preordered at best buy, and were told that best buy isn't doing the 50 gift card ting this time around. We didn't exchange any cash with best buy and were just given a reservation sheet of paper.

i work for bestbuy. you will get a gift card at the time of purchase, the system will prompt for it. and you can use it to buy the phone. the reservation does not cost anything, they are suppose to override the 50$ cost.
I am due for an upgrade. I pre-ordered my Evo through the Wirefly Friends and Family website for 119.99 no tax and free shipping. I have 5 lines, all out of contract, I called Sprint and told them I did not want to pay an activation fees they gave me a 100 credit for exteding the primary line contract for 1 year with out losing the 150 upgrade credit and they also gave me 25 credits on the remaining 4 lines without extending those contracts. I also plan to trade in my current EVO thru the Sprint buy back for 70. I also plan to call Wirefly about getting the 36 activation fee waived on their end. I think i made out pretty good on this deal.

I just did it through Sprint and was happy. I had to, anyway. I was signing up for new service. It seemed like the only way to dodge a lot of fees is to do it with them.

where is the best place to buy it out right?
Thanks for the info, I was going to preorder at wirefly but now I am going to do this instead. Gotta swap my old evo for my wife's new insurance (refurb) evo, and trade the old evo in so she can have the LTE
