[REQUEST] Defy Moto Phone Portal - Defy Themes and Apps

Hey, I've been searching for the Moto Phone Portal, but have only found V1 which apparently does not have the file explorer. Any way to get V2 or just a version with a wifi file explorer?

If you're only interested in a wifi file explorer/manager i would suggest to try webkey from the market, free, easy to use and doesn't require to install anything on the pc, any browser will work fine.

Me too
ok so on CM7 we don't have phone portal. I installed v.029 and V1 and i can't backup my contacts or import the.csv file to phone... very annoying. Tried to restore with Titanium... no luck. I guess the old ones have compatibility issues with the 2007CSV format. It asks for a 2003... but i have Office 2007... and it cannot save in the older format.
Overall how do i put my .Csv and .Bak files back on the phone?
Can anyone please extract the phone portal.

Market installs the apps in /data/app and after installation it removes the temp installation files..
So is there no way to copy those .apk files before they are deleted ????
The apk is in /data/app just backup that one if you have to. The apk in that directory can be used over and over again to install on any phone you want.
I searched through astro but nothing is there in that directory ??????????????
The folder needs to be accessed with root permissions.
Via ADB shell or i believe there is an application called root explorer which does it with UI.
Astro, tools, backup - works for me
Thanks very much.....
One problem with this is, you only get common file names like
downloadfile-1.apk and so on. you wont get the app name on the file name. so everytime you copy it you have to run it and see what app that is.
That is one down matter. other than that its ok!

How to manually export/move/save stock browser's bookmarks

Hello,
I wanted to find a way to manually save my bookmarks and share them between my 3 android devices. I am using the stock browser on all 3 so I figured there should be an easy way to do this.
*** NOTE ***
For those of you who are new to Android tweaking and new to the G Tablet you will be required to root your tablet if you have not already done so. You will want to download and use RootExplorer to copy and move files around because these files do reside in an area that requires root access.
There are 3 files that you want to save; the files are located in the root of your device. The path to the files would look like this:
/data/data/com.android.browser/databases
and the 3 files you will find in that directory are:
browser.db (I expect this is the db that holds your bookmarks)
webview.db
webviewCache.db
I copied these files up to dropbox, then I fired up the other tablet and downloaded those files from dropbox. I then used RootExplorer to move the files from the dropbox folder on my SDCard to /data/data/com.android.browser/databases.
I then started my stock browser; looked at my saved bookmarks and everything was there!
I realize that you can backup and restore via Titanium Backup; however this is just a manual way to export and import your stock browser bookmarks if you ever need to do so.
Hope you find this useful!

[Q] Searching files inside the phone

Hello!
This may sound like a dumb question but how do I search for a document (pdf, doc xls...) which I know is the SD card but I don't remember where exactly?
If use the search feature, even though I remember the file name, it wont find anything, is there a plugin or another app to install to be able to search for files on the phone?
I have an Xperia Mini Pro SK17i
If you do a search in the market for Explorer. Explorer will search both the files on the phone and the files on your memory card. Explorer is a free app. The makers of Explorer also have an app call Root Explorer which has further options for rooted phones. Both are great
Thank you!
But isn't it ironic that a Master of Search like Google didn't put a simple file search feature in his OS? :-/
I use astro file manager, pretty fast
I just downloaded File Expert which is a file explorer and allows you to create an FTP or Web server on the phone to access the file via wifi. Haven't tested yet but seems pretty cool

[Q] UrukDroid - External USB Drive Explorer?

Hello everybody ,
Untill this morning, I was using Chulri's permanent root (stock OS removed) on my A101IT, but I ran out of space for apps, so I decided to try UrukDroid. I installed it and I really like it.
The standard files explorer is replaced by "File Expert". That's really great, coz I was using it with Chulri's root too. But there's one little problem. I can't seem to write on my Samsung S2 (portable HDD) with File Expert, which I could with the stock file browser. I can access it trough mnt\storage\usb_host, but copying a file to the S2 isn't working. I removed the stock OS and I'm not planning on installing it again, so is there someone who can think of a solution or an app who solves the problem? Or is there someone who has the Chulri-root and can backup the stock file browser (with Titanium Backup) and can send me the apk?
Thanks!
(Sorry if I formulate things wrong, I'm Belgian and my English isn't always great.)
Es file explorer is much beter in my opinion for these situations.
I use it for network explorer and root explorer and it works perfectly.
I installed EZ and now I can copy to the usb_host-folder.
Thanks for the tip. Strange though that it doesn't work with File Expert...
You could also try dual file manager. My favorite daily use file manager.

[Q] Post bootunlock and root problem!

Just finished unlocking the boot load and rooted my GN using the GNEX toolkit, and restored my apps fine.
However, Dropbox did not seem to work properly. I was able to login, but couldnt access my files correctly. For example, I was able to open my Keepass file, but not able to save any changes...it would just complain about not being able to save.
I've uninstalled and reinstalled both Dropbox and KeepassDroid, with no success. The wieird thing is I also tried to browse the SD Card using ES File Explorer, and I'm not able to delete the Dropbox .thinkfree directory, nor am I able to delete/copy/move/rename the local Keepass directory and file...it just complains that it cannot perform the operation
Any help?????
