Hi Guys,
This is my first attempt at rooting. I rooted the phone successfully using Gingerbreak and it installed SuperUser app. I installed ROM Manager from the market and installed the Clockwork recovery for LG Optimus One(selected from the options given). I got a message saying the installtion of Clockwork was successful, after which I decided to do a backup of the current ROM. I enterd the name of the backup file and after a couple of minutes the phone rebooted.
After the LG logo, I got a black screen with "Fastboot mode started udc_start()" and the phone just got stuck here. No response and the backlight is also not turning off. I tried removing the battery and rebooted but everytime the phone boots into this screen.
Is my phone bricked? And is there any other way to recover it without using KDZ updater to flash a stock ROM?
Any help would be great.
Thanks in advance,
Karthik

I'm sorry but how did you enter a name for your backup? CWM automatically generates a name for it, and that's the date you created it. It doesn't ask for names (at least mine doesn't).
Edit: sorry, I just saw that you created a backup with ROM Manager. Anyway, your problem is most probably caused by a faulty flash of the recovery (not your fault). And next time create the backup from the custom recovery, it's better that way.
Regarding your problem, here are your answers:

Congratulations. Yet another phone soft-bricked by ROM Manager recovery flash. Do NOT use ROM Manager for flashing recovery, period. Apparently, the bug is nowhere near to fix, despite what the developer claims.
I got my phone fixed by going through the second link! Thanks a bunch mate! Thought my phone is dead.. I got it back exactly as I had left it... you're great

Okay so I installed a gingerbread ROM that keeps getting stuck at the boot screen. Yes, I installed the radio first and took all the correct steps.
But now I'm trying to simply boot into recovery to flash my backup of my other gingerbread ROM that actually worked. I boot into bootloader and it automatically tries updating the radio and there is no possible way to boot into recovery.
I don't know what to do.
When it asks you to install update, what if you say no, then you should be able to boot into recovery from the bootloader.
Sucks you're having issues.

Take the PBxxxx.zip file off of your zip card

Can't we do this in adb?
"adb reboot recovery"

Like g00s3y said, you must first remove the file you were trying (or successfully) flashed off your sd card. It's always best to remove this file once youre done with it. In your case you will probably need to use a sd card reader unless you can get your phone to mount.

I got the exact same problem
I ran into the same problem last night. I hooked my phone up to my laptop which has adb installed. When you're stuck at the start up screen, in a command prompt just type:
adb devices
You should see your phone show up under devices. If it shows up, then just type:
adb reboot recovery
This will get you into your recovery, and I just started the whole process over again. The 2nd time through everything worked great.
Hope this helps. (my phone wouldn't hard boot in to recovery, which I'm assuming is your problems also)
To hard boot into recovery, just hold the volume up key and turn the phone on. (correct me if I'm wrong)
Now I went and did it!
OK, so I was loading a new ROM and something went terribly wrong. I got stuck on the HTC, quietly brilliant screen. I then tried to boot into recovery thinking I would just restore the back up I had made and for some reason it jumped right to the HBoot and ran through some sequence of commands. Next thing I know I don't have root! So I'm screwing around trying to get adb to work on my computer and having problems with that. I try to recover again on the phone (power button and down volume) and notice that I still have s-off. Doesn't that mean I have root? But I also can't find a super user on the phone and none of my 'rooted' only programs work, they all say I don't have root. What do I do now?
Hboot is vol down and power.. not recovery. What that did was look for an update file on your SD card and flashed it. When you rooted your phone did you use the 1 click root? If so you probably just need to do step 3 again.. which gives you root and the super user app.. hopefully that's all it takes. When your done go into your SD card and remove the PG05 (there's more to the name don't have the whole file name memorized) zip file that's on there so it doesn't happen again

You will have to re-root now. This should teach you to be more careful and not just go randomly flashing and updating things. Read up some more before just trying things.
Yeah probably like he said your best bet is to re do the whole process.. Idk what you flashed on your phone or anything so just be careful and do your research before jumping into things.

When flashing a new rom make sure you check the md5sum. You can do this in adb or dl a program, just google it. If the md5sum comes back with the correct number then you know the dl isn't corrupted and you have the correct dl.
But as far as your current problem, you need to re-root.
Research your steps before you do them. I'm NOT a fan of 1-click. If you do it manually, and one step seems not to go right, then stop and ask on the forums. Someone should respond.
Hi all ,
I already know that i'm a noob so forgive my question.
I have a LG P500 unblocked. The SIM card is of a spanish carrier but I think that doesn't matter.
The problem:
I followed this guide: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1197991
Everything ran ok until here "Flash Custom ROM" - Step 7. Everytime I turn on my cell he just get stuck in the silver lg logo. Just that! After reading the guide 300 thousand times, i notice that I haven't installed the CWM, because there is no indication whatsoever in the guide to install it, so it's impossible step 7 to work, right?
So, where I can download the right CWM for this phone and how can I install it manually in the sd card? Which folders I need to create and if it should be in the root or not.
The ROM that I've copy to the sd card (unzipped) it was this one: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1325386
It brings already the "gapps.zip" file, that is referenced in the step 6.
Please don't tell me that the phone is bricked.
The "Emergency Mode" is no good! It's just a yellow screen with small black letter saying: "Emeregency Mode!" and the keys don't work.
So can anyone help me, please!
Thank you very much!!!
follow this guide :
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=15309588&postcount=2
but to answer your question directly, you can download rom manager from the market, which will allow you to flash clockworkmod recovery. once it has been flashed, reboot into recovery, and direct your phone to the file of your rom (it does not have to be in the root of the sdcard; the rom file should be zipped, not unzipped)
however (once again) i think it will be much more clear if you follow that guide.
root and install through rom manager
or
you can directly flash cwm recovery following http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1318750
Hi ,
I'm really a noob...
First, one million thanks to mak.3736 & sweetnsour.
Now continuing with the saga as follows:
This run it sweet - http://forum.xda-developers.com/show....php?t=1318750
I was able to install CWM and make all the backups necessary but... of course other problem has to arise... following the same guide from before, http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1197991
in step 9 says: "9. Wipe Data/Factory Reset, wipe cache partition, & under Advanced Settings, Wipe dalvik-cache, then format all partitions EXCEPT /sdcard.". I was able to format all the partitions except one called 'sd-ext'. I try more than once and gave some error but didn't pay much attention. Anyway I continued following the guide and try to flash this time this ROM 'Harmonia 1.7 (Aphrodite+Picasticks)'. And again happens the same! When the phone boots get stuck on the silver lg logo (I waited 10 minutes because I know the first time a new ROM loads can be quite slow). And again I have to restart in the CWM mode and restore from backup to the stock ROM!
Sorry sound annoying but any ideas of what's happening? What can I being doing wrong?
Thx in advance!
Sorry...
Just one small detail which I think strange and don't know if it's normal...
When I'm navigating in the CWM mode, in the bottom of the screen this info is present:
'ClockworkMod Recovery v5.0.2.0
E:Bad boot message
"recovery"'
This bad boot message, what is this? It's important?
Thx again!

But adding to what sweetnsour gave you, also look under ciaox thread, its a complete breakdown of roms from 2.2 to 2.3.7. Its in the android development section under stickies. Also the thread comes with many other things ie..kernels and tools. Sweetnsour's thread is great as well though

Do an Hard Reset before flash ROM
Sorry only answer now...
First, thx to terratrix, sweetnsour, Jrhodes85 and Raffy 97.
Second, sorry for my dumb assumption that any ROM for LG could run in any LG Android phone...
So I can only try to flash a ROM built specifically for the LG P500. Got it! I will search on the ROM's list. Any in particular that you guys recommend?
I'm looking for a ROM with a lighter boot, better wifi connection and in which apps like gmail, yahoo mail and facebook don't get jammed. I also want to remove the tweeter aplication, netlog and specific lg applications from my phone because I don't need it. And the possibilty to apply skins. And not have three different applications for weather and news.
So, suggestions?
Thx in advance!
Get cm7 by mik os .....6.5.8 =)
Then if you manage to successfully install the ROM f flash fserves kernel =)

Yes, recovery is working, what i did to make it this state surprises me, I was trying to put Miuiu on my phone, i followed the instructions and downloaded the app called "Flash Image Gui" and well i did, the problem was that after i did, it asked me to install another app and that started giving me errors, i could not make calls just receive, and whenever someone texted me it would tell me than "The customer you are trying to text is temporarily out of service" ...after that i tryed changing to another rom and when i did it kept doing the same errors, not even data worked. well to get to the point i wanted to install miuiu and i did try. i openeed the app flash image gui and tryed to install the rom...after that it told me to boot, and thats the last thing i did before my endless boot screens for all 4 roms i have tried..i dont know what to do anymore. :/
if anybody could help me, i have been trying all day to make it at least show me the homescreen. but nothing passes the bootscreen. it just freezes there..

I changed from an iPhone 4 in May to the Samsung Note. On my iPhone I would immediately jailbreak and install MyWi. In my research to do the same on the note I ran across a rooting tutorial for my device and followed the instructions http://www.androidauthority.com/galaxy-note-att-i717-root-without-increasing-flash-counter-61325/ (I am not positive, but I feel confident this is the one I followed). I installed Superuser and Titanium Backup, did a backup of ATT connection manager, then removed it. Tethering worked like a charm. This has worked and I had no issues until Friday June 14th.
On Friday, everytime I opened an app on my phone I would get a Force Close. I restarted the phone and watched as it repeatedly happened after every cycle. Believing that installing Droid VNC Server was the issue, the last app I had installed, I removed it successfully and included others I didn’t use. Upon reboot, I noticed the notification of App Updates and a missed call. Checked the application list and noticed that all of the apps I had just removed were still there. I have a ton of pics and videos and thought that I should back them up immediately before I deleted them, prepared for the worst. I was able to do that. I deleted them all, nothing in the gallery. When the phone crapped out again and rebooted, all apps and all pictures back.
I formatted the USB Storage, seemed to delete nothing and also showed the same amount of used space as before.
Time for a restore. I know now that the recovery partition is gone and so a Wipe/reset is fruitless. No problem. I know how to flash the rom. I used this method with Odin. http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1506330
Everything seemed to work successfully, but upon reboot I get the same app updates notification and the same missed call notification. The same frozen state my phone was in when the issue started on Friday. WTH!
I have everything backed up. How do I get back to stock? I could care less about the counter. I just want my phone to be usable again.

did you try wiping Catche and Dav?
Wipe Catch > Wife Davlik > Fix Permision, then reboot ..
see what happens ..
Not a noob, but here is where i am lost
I booted in to recovery, chose to Wipe/Erase . I see no option to Wipe Davlik except for in SuperUser and there it is a paid option, not sure where to find Fix Permission and then reboot?
I am assuming these are all options for CWM. I attempted to put CWM on an SD card last night and install from ZIP, but Recovery does not seem to see the SD card.
Are these options that are available for CWM, if so I will push through until I get it to work, but I have had no luck to this point.

I have attempted to Flash ROMs I don't desire just to move forward. They all flash and pass in Odin but on reboot I still have my default screen. Unfortunately, I want to go back to stock. I have done plenty of research and need something more to push on to the next thing. I am looking at phone and there is not an Advanced option in recovery. I have read there are options in CWM but I am looking at what I believe is the stock recovery options.

You now have a custom recovery(according to Odin). The problem is, you're doing the wrong key combo as stated above. You can also go to the market and grab FJ's power tool. You can boot into recovery directly from the app. Good luck.

You now have a custom recovery(according to Odin). The problem is, you're doing the wrong key combo as stated above. You can also go to the market and grab FJ's power tool. You can boot into recovery directly from the app. Good luck.

Still having issues. Here is the deal.
I have the phone in Download mode

I load the CWM Recovery in the PDA box. Start the flash, get a pass. All looks good to me.

I immediately attempt to access CWM Recovery by holding the power, vol+ and vol- and still get the default recovery

I am so confused as to what I am doing wrong.
Unfortunately those pics aren't loading for me. Try again with the pic of recovery and the file you're flashing. Thanks. If you still have stock recovery then maybe that's what you're flashing in error.
Try volume up + down and power button. When phone vibrates, release power button but keep holding volume buttons until you are in cwm.
I would use Odin to flash cwm touch recovery from pda, then load a rom via cwm. Using that method you don't even need to root because it's all done at bootloader level and root is built in to the custom rom you flash

Hello guys, it's me again.
This time i wanted to try out flashing boot.img's. Something went horribly wrong, and whenever i try to reboot my device, it ends up in recovery mode (TWRP for Rockchip's).
Also, when i do click reboot, it says "No OS Installed! Are you sure you wish to reboot?". I swipe, then it shows something about installing SU.
But when it does, it just shows my manufacturer (meanIT)'s logo and goes directly into recovery.
I have just two questions:
Is it repairable?
Is my OS really deleted or is it just softbricked or something?
I'm starting to feel desperate, cause i'm not a pro at flashing, i could be called semi-noob.
Additional info:
Device: meanIT M754 Promise 7", Rockchip 3026.
Bootloader access: No.
Bootloader unlocked: No.
Recovery: TWRP v2.7.0.0 modified for Rockchip's.
Recovery access: Yes.
Thanks for support.
Did you make a nandroid backup before attempting to install a new kernel? If not...shame. LoL If so, just restore that and reboot. If you didn't, then you should be able to adb push a rom zip to your phone via adb in recovery - or if you have an SD card then put it on there. Worst case scenario, you can just the flash tool to restore your phone if you can find the stock files.

Nope, i didn't backup, unfortunately. I'll try the adb method. Thanks!
+1 Thanks
Always always always make a backup whenever messing with kernels or major changes to the /system. You probably figured that out by now, but can't be stressed enough. Good luck.
I found a rom and tried to flash it.
When it flashed, i rebooted the tablet.
But...now it's stuck at meanIT boot logo screen. (not bootloop, it's just that boot logo shows up and disappears in snow).
I can't even access recovery anymore. I try to push the Power button for 5 secs to shut it down, but it powers up to the boot logo again. And so again and again, and again. Like a...bootlogoloop? lol.
Something went horribly wrong. :I
Update: It finally dies after the battery is drained.
Can anyone tell me what to do? (e.g. buy a new tablet, some repair advice, anything?) I'd be thankful. A lot.
Seriously? No one?
Are you able to get into fastboot? If so, you could try flashing your custom recovery image again.

Nope, but i played around with the buttons, trying every combination. Turns out i can force shutdown the bootloop and enter recovery mode by holding Power and VolUp while the bootloop. The only problem is, roms hard to find, man. But i found one which might seem to work so i'll try.
Sorry for bothering guys. I'm kind of a noob here, so excuse me if i turn out stupid.
No hope so far
So basically i tried everything except flashing a rkimage from sd card (don't have one big enough for the firmware).
Because i just found out there is a way to install Windows 8 on good working tablets, but i don't have money by the hand at the moment to buy a new one. I seriously don't know what to do anymore. I think it's either softbrick or just recovery loop.
