Keyboard help please!!! - Thunderbolt Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Is there any way I can hook up my Thunderbolt to my PlayStation 3 and use it as a keyboard?
Loud roared the dreadful Thunder!!!!!

nope. pretty difficult to hook up even a normal keyboard to that since sony went back on being nice to modders.
on that note, i have no idea why you would want to use a phone keyboard when you could have an actual keyboard lol.
and the answer to doing that would be asking a ps3 forum or googling, but I know it's possible (or was) for a physical keyboard.

Wireless Illuminated Super Tiny Keyboard + Touch HD?

Would this thing work on Touch HD? Anyone have any idea? I've been googling all afternoon, but no one seems to mention anything about this neat keyboard pairing with XDA devices.

I think it wont -- in the link you provided its said and showed that theres a usb receiver and it works in 2400ghz frequency--- basically the keyboard comunicates only with the usb thingy, that came with the keyboard!!!
NO IT WONT!!
except only if you make it bluetooth keyboard!!!
Moving this to Blackstone accessories!
Yeah, sorry, I accidentally posted in the wrong thread

Nah, actually I'm aware of that thingy, but that's not what I want. I want a hardware keyboard I can use in my hands or in my lap. This one requires a flat surface to work and that's not an option since I need to be able to use the keyboard in the car / plane / train / ferryboat etc. So I have excluded pretty much all foldable keyboards because they can't be used that way.
I also saw the Logitech diNovo mini keyboard, which looks awesome, but is just so damn expensive I figured I first try to find some kind of alternative. There are a few mini wireless keyboards available out there, but only Logitech and this Super Tiny have illuminated keys (also a must have for me) and can be used without flat surface.
Guess I'll have to go for Logitech then
You could try by using the veripart 3-in-1 converter, which will give you a USB-port, so you can stick the transmitter onto it...
But I don't know how to get the drivers onto your device then....
Grtz,
Degake
Look for the Think outside, or i-Go bluetooth keyboard. it's foldable but you can use it on your lap also. I have been using one for the past two years. fantastic device!!

Yeah, me too, but I'm still undecided. Mostly because the reviews I read weren't that great as I expected.
To be honest, if I'm going to pay 150 euros for a plastic keyboard, then I expect it will be fantastic, and judging by what I read, it's just not so great as one would think.
I own a lot of Logitech devices and have been using their keyboards / mices for years. I never regret paying top money for those gadgets, but I'm just not sure about this little thing. Unfortunately, none of the available reviews tested this keyboard as an attachment to PDA device - most were oriented to Windows Vista tv application / web browsing. So, I'll wait for someone here on the forums to get it and report

I'm very interested in it's functioning with HD. Can you test it in SMS / Opera / Word? See if there's a way for the soft keys to be controled via keyboard.
Also, general impressions would be most welcomed.

the main keys and dpad work fine on the dinovo mini, not sure about the soft keys will test
and let you know (though I think they don't)
How about the Freedom Slim Keyboard .. http://www.htcdepot.com/freedom-slim-keypad/9A55A5051.htm about the size of the HD and nice metalic feel to it.

The softkeys are not accessible currently
though maybe some kind of key mapper might get around this
Bt Keyboard pairs but no response from keypresses
Hi,
Hopefully someone can help me with this as I am rather stuck.
I got this keyboard http://www.iconuk.co.uk/Keyboards--Mice-&-Tablets/Bluetooth-Keyboards/Keysonic-Mini-Blutooth-Wireless-Keyboard-KB-ACK-595BT/p-1583-621-1758-4106/ - Keysonic KB-ACK-595BT.
So far I have only got it to work twice with the touch HD, where it connected and was quite happy typing and controlling windows mobile (typed a whole document quite happily). However, the 2nd time it took several attempts before it would work and now I can't seem to do it again.
As far as I can tell the keyboard is fine (connects to windowsXP without issue) but after paring with the Phone (which it accepts) there is no response from the key presses.
I've tried all sorts to get it to work, but no utility or attempts to change the stack or Soft/Hard resets seems to help. I've even upgraded the radio to 1.12.25.16 but made no difference. I think this must be a WM6.1 issue with BT paring but I'm out of idea on how to fix it.
It is driving me nuts though, since it worked twice so why doesn't it now? Can't find anyone else who has had a similar problem so stuck for ideas on what to try next.
Thanks in advance.
Tim.

[Q] AZERTY to QWERTY?

The story:
I just got a HD2 today, and to be honest I'm pissed.. I've been ripped off big time, the phone has a cracked screen(it said the description, but I expected something smaller), it has been taken apart and put back poorly(windows key isn't backlit anymore). Also, the LCD has 3 big white circles and the touchscreen sometimes doesn't work. Not to mention that the USB connection doesn't work(USB device not recognized), No usb modes work. Sorry about that but I had to write it, I have to let the angryness come out some way.. I demanded a refund, and he better give it to me.
OK, now about my question:
The phone has a french rom(original, not updated) and it's AZERTY keyboard. Since USB doesn't work and I can't flash updated rom without HSPL, I'm stuck with this ROM and without Android(2.04 radio (( ).
How do I change the keyboard to qwerty, in keyboard settings, there's no option to change the layout, just auto-correct and other things, but no layout option.
And I can transfer files to it, I have an X1 and I can use that to transfer files to the SD card...
Since the phone is knackered and you're demanding a refund anyway (and quite right too!!), why does it matter?
Pay a bit more and get a good condition one. If you have issues with a working phone then we can help you.

I don't think it matters if it's good or not, that's more of a software thing. Is there any cab or something to change the keyboard?
But you're returning it as damaged, so what do you care?
Seriously, from your description I wouldn't even bother turning that thing on!
A quick search (using the search) found this...

It's the opposite to what you're asking for, but it should point you in the right direction.

WebTop user Laptop Mouse and Keyboard?

Well, I am in a unique situation . I have a laptop with HDMI *IN* (yes, I know I have the m17rx3). I am running Alien #3 with the WebTop. I plugin in the HDMI and WebTop shows up everything fine.
But, I can only use the mouse and keyboard from the Atrix. Is there any way to make use of my laptop's keyboard and mouse? That would be awesome..
Thanks
Probably not. And if you could, I don't think somebody will take the time to do it because it would require a lot of work.

[Got It!] Pair Motorola Bluetooth Wireless KB with Evo 3D!!

So pardon me if this is an unnecessary thread, or if no one else has ever had this issue but it drove me insane trying to figure out how to get this to work. That being said, I discovered how to pair the Motorola bluetooth keyboard (the one made for the Xoom) with our HTC Evo 3D. If anyone has ever tried this/ own's the Moto keyboard, you probably know that if you just put the device in pairing mode and try to pair it just won't work. You get a box that pops up for a split second with a pairing code and then it disappears right away before you can punch it in. But I knew that the keyboard and the Evo both do bt HID. So I did tons of digging and searching and couldn't find ANYTHING on how to get it to pair with the EVO 3D (apparently it pairs normally and just fine with just about everything else that supports bt HID devices). Finally I looked in the manual, and noticed a special pairing mode that is supposed to be used when pairing with a computer. I figured "what the hell" and gave it a try with the Evo and it worked!!! To get the Moto Bluetooth keyboard paired with the Evo 3d here's whatcha gotta do:
1. Put the Moto keyboard in "computer pairing mode" by holding down the keys V + A + R while powering on the keyboard. (I kept them pressed even after releasing the power button until the green indicator light on the keyboard stayed lit indicating it was in pairing mode)
2. On your phone in the bluetooth settings menu, select "search for devices"
3. Now when the Motorola keyboard shows up, select it and when the box pops up prompting you to enter a pairing code it will remain on the screen for as long as you need to put the code in.
4. ON THE MOTO KEYBOARD enter in the numeric code that your phone gives you as the pairing code then PRESS THE ENTER KEY on the keyboard (it doesn't say that you need to, but it will not work if you don't).
Woo-hoo! The keyboard is now paired with the Evo 3D!! It actually works really well with the phone (No lag, or any beefs that I've got at least. I actually typed this whole post on my Evo with the Moto keyboard) and even some of the Android Specific function keys that were designed for the Xoom are working for me I hope that this helped anyone out there that was frustrated and couldn't figure out how to pair this awesome keyboard with this beastly phone.
sweet i still have my keyboard from when i had the xoom. thanks for reminding me about it now if the phone just had a kickstand built in

Hey man, I'm glad I could help you out! I remember when I was trying to figure it out, I'd all but given up lol. I'm glad I could help someone else out with getting it to work
Thanks for this! Helped me pair with my Sensation 4G and my hp touchpad. If only bluetooth worked on the ICS ports for the xoom...lol
I hope people are still looking at this thread.
The pairing went flawlessly, but I cant type .
In settings it says Paired, but not connected.
The keyboard flashes 5 times and stays off, it does this over and over.
And when I type the Bluetooth settings say it is connected for 1 second and then it is not connected anymore
I hope this is enough info .
Thanks in advance
Haven't ever heard of a problem like that. Weird... After you successfully paired, try long pressing on the keyboard in Bluetooth settings and see what it says. Also, this may sound silly, but try some brand new batteries.

THANK YOU cuz now my Samsung Charge connects with bluetooth keyboard!
Thank You Thank You Tyler MF -- for the directions to pair a motorola keyboard (for xoom).
I have been searching far and wide for the key to pairing my Samsung Droid Charge with the same keyboard you are using. Everything said it was possible, theoretically, but I was having the same experience you did with the Evo.
My employer issued me a laptop and I drive around three counties all day for work and I really needed a device (not locked down by an IT department) that I could quickly type notes to document my work and to respond to lengthier emails and texts. I got an Asus Transformer, which is a very nice device, but too much extra weight to add to my briefcase, especially since it is extra effort to go online with it.
But now! Thanks to you! I can do all of this work on my phone with the Motorola Keyboard and the Logitech bluetooth mouse !!
Sweet!!:victory:
Really glad this helped ya out man! And I'm glad that after all this time has passed since I typed this people are still able to find it and make use of it Always does my heart good to rescue another from the clutches of the IT lockdown Nazis lol

SGS2 pairing with Motorola bluetooth keyboard
Many thanks. You've helped me pair my keyboard with my galaxy gear
it’s 2020 and I’m very grateful for this thread.
I had been using my motorola keyboard with an ipad pro 2nd gen well enough, but when I swapped out the dead nonrechargeable batteries for new rechargeable ones, I had a helluva time reconnecting. I went thru connection procedure in manual at least like 5 times and was so angry at the disappearing passcode. I saw the VAR computer mode in the manual but since it was 4am I was gonna give up. Til I saw this thread which confirmed to me that I should have tried it all along.
Anyways, I’m typing thank you on a paired motorola keyboard at least 6 years (Edit: actually nearly a decade!) later from OP. Oh and it’s nearly 5am bc it took me so long to make an account oops. Since OP’s signature mentions a galaxy s ii, I don’t think they will necessarily respond but I just wanted to express gratitude for this forum’s existence

(Q) Ctrl-Shift on Asus Transformer insults typists

I have the TF101 from Asus. With the dock. Love the unit, got the dock to work on my documents on the go and be productive. I quickly ran into the snag where the keyboard doesn't recognize "ctrl-shift"!
Ive tried several word apps, like Polaris and OfficeSuite, but Im being led to believe that its the tablet itself that doesnt recognize the input, because when I use Splashtop to go onto my desktop and use word from there it still wont recognize the input.
Im wondering if there some sort of app or input I can use to change or allow the tablet to recognize ctrl-shift(and arrow keys) to highlight words and sentences. Im alright on android, but am not as savvy as I am with winmo and its internals, so I turned to XDA for salvation. Otherwise, Im selling the dock. -_-
Thanks in advance for any help/suggestions!
