[Q] Cases from Acase? - Eee Pad Transformer Accessories

Has anyone seen any more information about this Vintage Leather case or any others from Acase?
youtube.com/watch?v=zYDIBed9_Aw
What I'd really like to see is one exactly like they made for the Xoom (amazon.com/Acase-MOTOROLA-Quality-Premium-Leather/dp/B004XRSLB6), but haven't seen anything yet. I'm hoping that the youtube video above is a sign of them now starting to make cases for the TF, so they will soon duplicate the Xoom Slim case for us as well. Anybody have any more info on anything from these guys?
Sorry, not enough posts, so no URLs...

Nope, have not seen a thing

wish I saw this sooner, I just posted the same video in the list of compatible cases thread....

bah... nasty corner straps... those are the worst cases.

Cases Allowing Keyboard Access

I know I've seen a few cases out there that allow access to the keyboard while still on. Would people post links to the ones you know of? I'm guessing that I'm not the only one looking for this, so this would be a helpful thread for lots of people.
There are many of them posted here.
there are threads about cases, but not specifically one with keyboard access. Rather than search through the other threads and look at lots of holsters cases that don't apply, I thought it would be good to centralize. That's why I made another thread. If I'm wrong, I'm sorry but I thought it a valid topic.
Try Boxwave

Boxwave has a clear plastic case and one of those metal monstrosities that was so popular a couple years ago. I also saw some on Ebay but apparently there has been problems with them cracking in the front. They are dirt cheap though. The Boxwave cases are like 30 bucks. Krusell makes the Orbit Flex if you like a leather case. I have had their cases and like them but after dropping my phone when a multi adapt clip split, never went back. Very good warranty though.
Proporta do a flip case with aluminum in the lid to protect the screen. Clove technology also stock the same one. looks good

Is there an apple ipad style case for the G Tab

I ordered my G Tab from Woot as many others did. I really like the thin iPad 1 case and have been searching for one for the GTab but haven't been able to find one. I'm not really looking for a big leather case. I'm looking for something similar to this forum post on the Galaxy site: ht tp:// forum.xda-developers.com/ showthread.php?t=893697 (sorry I can't post links)
The Galaxy case that is sold at hand held items (link to hand held in the above spaced out link) looks very similar to the iPad one too but is better because it's not an "i" product.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Now for the good news, there are 7 custom cases in this thread.
I got a CLIP case from fellow xda member it2steve and I will say it is the first Apple quality case I've seen for our gTabs.

Thank you. I read that thread and a bunch of other ones on here too...I have seen many different options on here, but not many in the stores. I will look into the CLIP case further. What do people think about the CaseCrown case on Amazon for the G Tab?
I'd like to see those custom cases but your link does not work. It looks like this: you do not have permission to access this page. This could be due to one of several reasons. Is there something top secret about a case. Tried link for case at link for electronic crap. Same message. WTF
The same thing happens to me . . . permissions error
Seems like I need a couple more posts to access it, thx

Steve's cases look much better than the Case Crown cases. I got one of the CC cases and it stopped "fitting" after a few weeks. Opening and folding the front back behind the tablet caused the bands to stop gripping the tablet and I just stopped using it overall.
I'd highly recommend looking at Steve's store: http://electroniccrap.com/store/ind...cription=1&keyword=viewsonic+g+tablet&x=0&y=0
I'd have gotten one of his, but he was out of stock so I ordered one of the cases with the keyboard built in (came out to be $35). I have to go pick it up at the post office, as it was delivered via registered mail and has to be signed for.
It's a great case but still not as good as a custom case

I was one of the early adopters of the CaseCrown case for the Kindle DX for my gTab. It looks pretty classy even though it's not real leather. Good quality construction. Some people were reporting that the elastic tabs at the top were getting lose with time but I've used mine for over three months and didn't notice that on mine. I have to say thought I didn't leave my gTab in the CaseCrown case when I was using it but only really had it in the case for transporting it from home to the office or some other away from home locale. The one thing I will report that is a slight negative about the CaseCrown is that after three months of use I did notice the side of the case that is up against the back of the gTab was getting slightly bent and the felt lining was beginning to bubble up a bit. Even with that slight issue this case I would highly recommend it. If you can part with the cash I would strongly direct you into the direction of one of the custom cases as those are more tailored for out gTabs.
I hope you enjoy your gTab as much as I do mine. I've basically replaced the need to lug around my really heavy beast of a work laptop and now do my off site work from my gTab accessing my laptop remotely via LogMeIn Ignition.
Since I've purchased my CLIP from it2steve I have put away my CaseCrown case. I have no use for it now so if you're interested I'll be happy to unload it on you for next to nothing. Send me a PM if you're interested.

I hope for your sake you didn't get the one that I had before I unloaded it on eBay. It does work but that's where the positive ended for me with that case. The case really looked CHEAP and I was embarrased to take it out in front of other people at work or at a client's site. Also, the keys are hard plastic (not silicone) so I was afraid it would rub against the gTab's screen and do damage since the case also didn't hold the gTab snug but rather let it slide around in there.
This case may be good for students but really is not suitable for a professional environment. It will definitely give the Apple fans something else to snicker at if you work around them.

Regardless of how many posts you have on xda you should have no problems accessing Steve's store. Try it again, maybe you had another problem when you tried last?
Here it is again: it2steve's web store.

Hey sjmoreno, this link does work, but the link they were referring to was this link in your first post that leads to another thread in xda:

I also can't access that link. It may have something to do with the number of posts that we have or something. But that is just my guess. But the link to the actual store works great. So thanks for that!

Just picked it up from the Post Office today, works great but they sent me one with the wrong clip locations, even though I specified Viewsonic Get Tablet as they instructed.
I am going to fix it on my own as others have done because it took 3 weeks to get it.
Overall I'm very happy with it for the price of $35 total.

"what? Gravity" Works as a phone holder

So I read this on GoodandEvo.net and found it interesting. Just thought I'd share this since I didn't see anything posted about this on our accessories thread. So apparently this is a stand that has attached to the front of it a silicone like grip that can hold multiple things from regular to landscape mode. Supposedly they say it holds even tablets but I don't have one so can't test it out.
I find it interesting but just might wait to see if long term use takes a toll on that silicone grip. If anyone gets one post a review for us to see! I'll do the same if I decide.

May pick one of these up if someone with a Transformer can test it for work.

well if i ever get my hands on a transformer prime I'll test it for you. Also this item seems to be one of those bulk sites. So you have to email for price
Not bad but no individual pricing yet.

Any case for tablet + keyboard AND tablet only?

Is there any good case to use with the whole setup (tab + keyboard) that could ALSO be used as a stand for the tablet only?
You can find them if you look around.
I found this one on eBay in like 2 seconds:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/New-Folio-L...?pt=US_Tablet_Accessories&hash=item256d7e4fba
I believe there might be other, similar cases listed in the "Ultimate Transformer PRIME TF201 Accessory Guide" pinned to the top of the forum. I don't know how "good" they are as this isn't really my style of case, but hey generally aren't expensive.
Thanks. Of course I could do a search, but my intention was finding a case that someone actually had bought and had, preferably, good experiences with.
Here's a new case for tablet and dock. Looks kinda better than the rest I think
amazon.com/Transformer-Keyboard-BLACK-Protector-SecondShells/dp/B007A12R80/ref=sr_1_13?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1330591122&sr=1-13
If you are looking for reviews of cases you should really read the accessories guide posted at the top of the page. Most people posted reviews of the stuff they added to the list.

Thanks for the link. I agree that case looks better then the other ones I was looking at. Just ordered for my prime can't wait to try it out.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but from the pictures of the SecondShells case linked above doesn't look like you can separate the covers to have a stand alone case for the undocked tablet. Just wondering.

[Q] Case Choice Dilemma

Hi everyone,
I just bought my Transformer Prime last week, and I am faced with a major dilemma. I'm scared to death that I'm going to drop it, so I've been using the case I bought for my granddaughter's original Transformer. It doesn't quite fit, but it works.
I'm trying to decide how to protect my new tablet. I like the look of leather and a well-padded case would provide good protection, and the ones with stands are very utilitarian. However, it would be a shame to cover up such a beautiful device! (After all, its good looks are one of its strong selling points.)
Has someone found a good solution for protecting their tablet while still being able to show it off?
(I apologize if this question has already been answered; if so, please just point me to a link. Sometimes it's really hard to find the right search terms.)
Thanks!
I have ordered the case shown in link below. In my case I have the Dock also and this seems to me the Best available. Though this might not be what you need thought I would at least post it for you.

Since we have an Accessories Forum for the Transformer Prime that discusses accessories like cases, created for or compatible with the Transformer Prime, you might look there for answers first.
This thread in the Accessories forum would be a good place to start:
Ultimate Transformer PRIME TF201 Accessory Guide
Check out this one
This is the one I will be sporting once it is available... April 16...

I've got a simple 10" laptop/tablet neoprene sleeve. The prime fits nicely inside it with or without the dock attached. Apart from that i dont have any protection on it right now and its been working well for me. Having it for 2 months now and i dont have any scratches. And i have it with me most of the times in my backpack or guitarcase.

Forgive me if someone already posted, but I bought a leather case from Best Buy made by a well known name..Targus.
It does offer great protection and has the stand built in, a nice velvet/cashmir type fabric inside. I don't have the link but it's the only one that the Best Buy by me had so I grabbed it. It was $40.00
This ISN'T my Transformer Prime
Yeah there are a lot to choose from on Amazon.com. This is the one I went with, I'm happy overall:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0063Q3G3I/ref=oh_o00_s00_i00_details
Thanks!
Thank you, RonH54. That looks like a very nice case. The problem is that although the front of the keyboard is visible, the back of the keyboard and pretty much everything on the tablet itself is pretty much covered--so no one can see how nice it looks. (My dilemma....)
I'm also a little concerned about the very negative review I saw there!
joedeveloper, the Moko also looks very nice, but also has the same issues. And Pixelation, I haven't seen the Targus case, but I assume it covers the tablet as well. Am I right? And finally, Gage_Hero...!!!! What can I say? That looks like a pretty extreme solution. I don't plan to treat my tablet in a way that I would need anything like that.
almightywhacko, thank you for the link. I had already seen it, and looked at most of the cases there, but got discouraged because they all looked pretty much the same and all covered the tablet so you couldn't see it. I tried to post my question in the Accessories Forum first, but was told that I was breaking forum rules by posting a question there and that I needed to post in the Q&A forum--so here I am.
I've never seriously considered a sleeve, but clouds5, thanks for the suggestion. There are several listed in the Accessories Forum thread, so I intend to look at them. That might be the best compromise, because the tablet would be protected when it most needed it, but would be on display when I was actually using it.
The only other option that has occurred to me is a clear case. Something like the Invisible Shield wouldn't provide enough impact protection (although I would need something like that for the screen to prevent scratches)--but there might be a clear case out there that is more protective. Has anyone seen something like that?
Again, thanks to everyone for your contributions. You have given me some new ideas. (Sorry to be so slow--I've tried several times to post over the past couple of days, but kept being told that "the token had expired", whatever that means!)
I have 6 cases. I am not kidding. 6.
Like you, I have a tf101 sleeve that works for basic thin protection (given to me by a friend that didn't like it for their og). I have a neoprene case (another give-me). I have a non-tf202 specific hard-ish case made by CaseLogic that I like a lot because it will hold the tablet+dock and it is very durable. I have the MiniSuit linked to above for the tablet+dock and it sucks. Badly. They are a good company and they have done right by me, refunded my money, etc, but the design is horrible with a very basic flaw - the leather is way too thick where the dock meets tablet and that is just not going to be good over time. I have "modified" it with a pair of scissors so that it wont break my tablet+dock - it does make a nice case for carrying and using them both. I also have the MiniSuit 360 case. I really like that one because the tablet is detachable from the case.
IMO = The best one is the one joedeveloper linked to. Slim, good protection and really shows off the Prime. It is the only one that does not cover the bezel. It is very "configurable" and you can use the dock WITH it. I can be folded half way back and then half of the beautiful back is "shown".
I have the full body skinomi skin for my tablet and dock so I have that as added protection so I son't mind using my dock with that case because I know my dock wont get scratched. But i wont use that if I need to carry or travel with the dock, I'd use one of the other ones.
So...slugbug2010,
Let me make sure I understand you. You like the MoKo case "best" because it doesn't cover the bezel, but it doesn't give enough protection to travel with it? So you would recommend buying a second case for traveling with it (in addition to a full-body skin)?
I can't tell from looking at it and reading about it on Amazon if it covers the keyboard, or just the tablet itself. If it covers both, can the two pieces be separated? If it doesn't cover the keyboard, I'd need to have a separate sleeve or something to protect it.
Can you and joedeveloper elaborate a little more, please?
Thanks!
You can get some balls for your Eee pad if you are afraid of dropping it.
http://iballz.info/universal.html
Reading your post again, it looks like you want a clear TPU case like this one made for the iPad http://www.amazon.com/CrazyOnDigital-Accessories-Cover-Retail-Package/dp/B004RRU7NM
However sadly no company has yet stepped up to the task of making such a case. Theoretically a TPU case would provide decent drop protection and not alter the look of the tablet much. And since it is so thin it would work well with a sleeve for added padding when not in use.
Yes, the TPU case looks like it might be along the lines of what i want--but it appears that I'm out of luck.
texstar, the iBalls are a really interesting concept (despite the name). I'm thinking they might be the perfect thing for my granddaughter's Transformer, providing some protection and leaving the tablet easier to use than the traditional case I already have for her.
As far as using them with my Prime--they certainly would expose the tablet itself, but I'm not sure I like the "quirky" look mentioned by some of the reviewers. It's also not clear whether or not they might cover up some of the ports and controls.
If your post was a serious one, do you own them? Has anyone tried them on your tablets?
Joedeveloper and Slugbug2010, are you still there? I really like the Moko case, but it's tablet only. The Minisuit looks nice, too, but seems to be thicker than what I'm looking for. I think I need a combination of the two....
Those of you who are using the Moko and have a dock, do you have a separate case for it, use a sleeve, or just leave it unprotected?
Thanks again for all your help.
