Prototype Xperia x10 AP2 - XPERIA X10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I have a prototype xperia x10
CU 1231-8595.1A
SI 1228-3735.2
Type: AAD-3880049-BV CB5
Not type approved 09W39
Prototype build:AP2
S/N: CB511ECSQ6 00440107-869319-5
Battery: BST-41
The phone is bircked (vibrated and green led but doesent boot) and i can not find the firmware and loader for it.
I`ve tried to flash 1.6 retail rom with flashtool and it doesent work, it gets stuck when it flashes the loader.
If somone could help upload the files it would be appreciated.

have you tried 2.1 generic firmware through flashtool? Or what about pc companion or seus??
Sent from my X10 TripNMiUI-IRIS using XDA App

Plugg it to the PC and start PC Companion (it must recognize it) Then search for UPDATE and then repair. That will fix you problem Same thing happened to me last week.

the phone is a prototype ( screw the guy on ebay who sold it) it get recognized in SEUS but it says that the device is up to date

You can re-install the firmware in seus. When it says that the device is up to date you press next and then it re-installs the firmware.

no next button.

try downloading SEUSpro and sign up pro might give you more options... You'll have to wait a few days for SE to send you your password for pro to work but all in all it's worth giving it a try.
Plus you get updates for your country before regular SEUS.Telling you cause i'm using it and it fixed my phone many times whereas regular SEUS couldn't

try using seus from another computer, maybe it works, i had once a problem like this with an old se phone and it worked

some help? somebody

Try seus without the phone connected, should say could not connect or no phone connected. Then try update and it should offer fix. Then follow instructions.

could use some HELP

Off topic question what the prototype has better then the regular x10?

Here's the thread with all the original operators 1.6 firmware.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=872298
Also, I know some firmware downloads used to be missing the loader.sin. You have to find it and add it yourself. Look for it in another firmware, copy and paste into the firmware folder with the other sin files.

Maybe try to remove data files from SEUS dir (.\Program Files\Sony Ericsson\Update Service\db\)

Re: hello
That firmware won't fix your phone. It's compiled for retail spec'd phones. If flashing 1.6 doesn't work then I can't help you, sorry.

Ok, if the flash tool isn't going to work, you need to get SEUS working properly. There should be a "repair software" option. However, for some reason unknown to me, the "repair software" option via SEUS or PC Companion does not appear sometimes for some people.
I have heard disabling anti virus and rebooting your computer works. Also, try uninstalling SEUS and download again from SE.

Abandoned.
Thank you for your replies.

hello pls you have repaired yours prototype phone? i have same problem how can i fix it? Very thanks

Hello,
I got 2.0.A.0.504 BUILD NUBER, how can I get to 2.0.2.A.0.24 ?
please help, many thanks
Hi Early81.
Your phone's region firmware is probably Italian.
So there are no updates from SonyEricsson Italia for their users.
You can update changing your region with this.
It's the last rom posted in this thread from Jerpelea.
Then you can obtain your root permissions with this.
Bye.
I bought the phone from eaby uk, I thinf is an orange phone..
I downloaded the rom, but when I launch x10 flash it gives me:
secm usb flash not founded
I connected xperia in flash mode with the back button and gave me green led button, I even installed pc companion, where can i get this driver for updating the phone?
sorry for my engish, thanks
U'd better use auto updste from se. Otherwise root ur phone by using z4root from market, install xrecovery and install .024 downloaded from this forum

Agree.
Try Sony Ericsson Update Service.
I did it today and i found the update you required.
Then use this to root new firmware's version.
I installed SEUS , it tells me I already have the newest firmware version... ok but at least now I have flash usb driver ok.. so I go to x10i flash in the rom folder , and it gives me:
INFO: start
and after 2-3 mintes exception in thread java.lang etc...
waht am i doing wrong?
thanks
Have a look in the X10 Flash Forum.... why doing an extra Thread? Read the 1. Post, everything is there....
Just change you build.prop file to NCB
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=824711
And then use SEUS to update to the latest version.
thanks to all , I did it by x10 flah tool , after trying on 4 different computers cause of the drivers problem.. thank you all, if this post is not useful it can be deleted, sorry for creating another one

Reboot problem on Live with Walkman

So, nearly every Live with Walkman has the reboot problem. It means that phone constantly reboots when it goes to standby mode, or you're playing crocky 3D games. This problem causes missed calls and sometimes you just have no choice but to take the battery out.
If somebody knows some proved methods to overcome the problem, please share with us.

@212th,
Have you tried to update or repair the software? Both can be done with PC Companion, www.sonyericsson.com/pccompanion.
If there's no new software available, just unplug the phone and click on the repair option instead. Remember to backup your data before doing this (contacts, messages, calendar etc.).

Hi all!
I'm stealing this thread a bit from rebooting..
It's like this.. I update my wife Live with walkman to the latest "4.0.2.A.0.62 (Sony Ericsson Live with Walkman)"
And after that was done, the phone just refuse to start. When you press the switch the led lamp just blink green a couple of time but the phone wont start!
Any know what to do? I see all over forums that many has this problem..
With regards.
Michael
You have to update your phone to newest firmware 4.0.2.A.0.62, which fixes the reboot issue. This was a software issue, which was fixed by Sony Ericsson.
Download Sony Ericsson Update Service(SEUS), and update via this program. This should fix the problem.
Copy-paste this link to download the Update Service
http://dl-www.sonyericsson.com/cws/download/1/110/61/1309763183/Update_Service_Setup-2.11.7.13.exe
Should also fix the problem of Bjerven, last poster. All instructions are inside the program.
Click Thanks if I helped.

Hey, have you tried flashing any other stock roms using flashtool. Try flashing different firmware versions and see if you can get your phone working again.

No, try stock roms first with different firmware versions before you try custom roms. Is your bootloader unlocked? Try custom roms only if your bootloader is unlocked.

I had never got this problem on my WT19i.
still restarting even after update to .62
Hello,
I am new here and bought the WT19i last march 2012. never had problem until recently (this october). the WT19i is now restarting like hell and cannot even be used. so i searched all over the net and found that i need to upgrade it to .62 (i was on .58 then) so to use the warranty i sent it and they upgraded the firmware to .62. but the problem still exist although you can now use it and the restarting was reduced, but it is still restarting. can anyone help?
it is on firmware .62
BB - 64
not rooted
locked bootloader (although it is unlockable)
can anyone help?
i am planning on installing 4.0.4 .587 but im worried about the performance, battery life and camera might struggle.
also is there really a difference in updating via PCC / SEUS and via flashtool using a stock .587 rom?
not rooted
locked bootloader

I find the .587 more battery efficient than older one. Try it its worth of the upgrade

i sent it already. previously it was on GB .58. they upgraded it to .62. they say they are using pc companion.
but problem still exists. it still restarts it was just minimized.
on .58 it restarts constantly and unuseable.
on .62 it restarts randomly when taking a picture, calling / receiving a call. sending/receiving SMS.
so now i really plan to upgrade to ICS .587 but am not sure if upgradeing via PC companion and via flashtool has the same effect?
or will i try to flash .62 again using flashtool?

[Q] Help! My firmware is too old! (4.0.1.A.0.283)

Hello, folks.
At first, sorry for my bad English.
I have an Xperia Neo V (MT11a), and I figured out that changing the build.prop file to make my phone "pretend" to be a MT11i would make my phone able to play some HD games. And yeah, it works. But I am having some issues on some games (specially Modern Combat 3) that I suspect that should end by upgrading my firmware.
So, as I am seeing now by reading the forum threads, it seems that my firmware version is quite old (4.0.1.A.0.283, running Android 2.3.4).
I really searched the forum about how to upgrade my firmware, but all threads I faced stated that having the 4.0.2.A.0.42 is a primary requirement; I didn't find a thread about upgrading from 4.0.1.A.0.283 to a newer one.
So, how can I upgrade my firmware? Because, here in Brazil, PC Companion always reports that my phone is up to date (but we know that it is not!).
Waiting for an answer, and thanks in advance.
Sir search for sony ericsson update service application for your pc..
(can't post URL cause i'm using only my phone)
Use it if pc companion are not working..
If i helped tou!! Pls press thanks button..)))

I agree, it's the same situation in Croatia, the updates come a bit later so you will have to flash it manually. I tried both and got no updates for .62 i think.
Actually...the newbies(i wont use noobies...it sounds kinda offensive) are a bit scared to tinker upon their new phones...they do search...but rely upon the seniors for assurance...but it is a boring task to answer again and again same type of queries.

Location: Mumbai, India

I had the same problem as you recently.
Lost xrecovery, phone not booting, flashtool not seeing phone...
The only thing that fixed it was the flasher at wotanserver.com - someone mentioned it in a post here on XDA.
http://www.wotanserver.com/en/
Its free but you have to sign up...but it is well worth the 2 minutes.
Its all automatic, select your phone and thats it.
It flashes back to GB2.3.
Then you can use flashtool to go where you want from there.

If you say youve tried all possible methods-then the phones knackered. If it was me I would have
Try a different battery
Hardwire a battery
Try using a different pc
Try every version of flashtool
Try x10 flasher
Leave battery out for a while
Then after trying several times some of the above, and still nothing,It would go for repair or on eBay

No one knows but Sony. I can't see them pulling that option anytime soon, because it requires no work for them to keep it in, apart from hosting the firmwares on their servers, but in any case, you can make your own 'rescue' firmware to flash with flashtool if you want to have it available for eternity
There is a tutorial for that somewhere, i think in the General section of this forum.
