Not to far to look really...
It was just above your new thread...
All you need to know is here
If youre looking for a good ROM I recommend EWJet, and well that will require to flash new firmware and baseband, make sure you make a full backup of your stuff with xRecovery, before you try
no idea
but i dun like custom rom. since SE going to release official android 2.3.3 or 2.3.4 (not sure)
reason dun like custom rom becox the poor design
many thanks for the reply,s i will try the custom roms until se release their own new version

Hi guys. I think I have some pretty specific questions so I'll just go ahead and ask. Also this thread can hopefully help other AT&T users.
1. I've already used the Flashtool guide to get to Android 2.1 and I've rooted it. What I really want though is just the straight update from Sony Ericsson to 2.1. Now that the phone is no longer locked down with AT&T 1.6 software is there a way to simply install the official SE 2.1 update?
2. If I do have to stick with the update in the Flashtool guide should I do the customize option for JIT? What are the pros and cons?
3. Anything else I need to know? Basically I want the phone working 100% but running 2.1 instead of 1.6, I'm fine with the AT&T apps not being installed.
Thanks for any and all help!
Have you tried connecting your phone to SEUS/PC Companion, and do a factory reset? (not sure it will install 2.1, but if it doesn't, just update it through there)
but.. and this isn't scary at all, just install a good (wolfbreak's for instance) 2.2 ROM. You will notice a significant performance boost, with no downsides actually (can't think of anything not working)
edit:
but then again, i just noticed that at&t users cant use seus...(didnt know that...)
sooo.. just take a leap of faith and go for 2.2
where can I find wolfbreak's 2.2? and will it be as easy to flash as 2.1 was in the guide?
It depends on what you find easy. You do not need flashtool (as long as you have the 54, 55 or 58 Baseband.
To check what baseband you got, go to phone settings --> about the phone --> scroll down, and it should say baseband 2.*.** or something like that the last two asterisks is what matters.
(if you do not have the appropriate baseband, download the one you want from here, and install it with Flashtool)
Now, before you can install this ROM, you first need xRecovery, this program can be found here, along with a howto install guide
After you've successfully installed xRecovery, it is time to download the files from wolfbreak. His ROM can be found here.
Download:
- CM 6.1.3 [v05].zip for Baseband 54/55/58
&
- CM Update v053.zip [Will not wipe anything]
Place those files on your SD Card.. Now you can follow the 'Howto install' guide from wolfbreak
(oh btw, to enter xRecovery you have to do the following:
Press BACK button few times right after white SE label appears.)

Its in the x10 android development section. Its one of the top links for in that section. I personally use rendeiro2005 ROM 2.2 cuz of personal looks. Hope this helps.
Sent from XDA Premium from my X10a rooted running 2.2.1 CM Rom from Rendeiro2005
so wolfbreak should be 100% working correct? no hardware problems?
what about rendeiro2005?
another thought...since these aren't from SE won't I lose timescape and mediascape? or is there some way to install them after the fact?

Ok, here's a good question. If I wait until the 2.3 update is released from SE and plug my phone up to SEUS will my phone be brought back to AT&T factory settings or will it actually be updated to 2.3 (now that I'm running a generic ROM)?
What I'm getting at is: Now that I'm running a generic ROM will SEUS try to update to new generic ROMs or will it somehow know the phone is AT&T and keep trying to go with what AT&T is currently using?
No, your phone is debranded after flashing so you can install 2.3.3 with no problems
so that means that if I plugged up to SEUS right now it'd give me the SE 2.1 update correct?
I'm currently running the 2.1 from the flashtool tutorial, but I'd like the official SE 2.1
I'll go ahead and answer my own question. Yes, apparently once you debrand your phone you can simply go to SEUS and update to the latest SE update.
I'm now running 2.1 straight from Sony Ericsson
I'll wait for the 2.3 update and get it through SEUS when it comes out this summer.
A noob question maybe
Will be possible to update our beloved custom roms from NobodyAtAll with latest se 2.1.1.C.0.0 with seus? I guess no
Or do we have to wait a new update from developers? And in this case do we need to comeback to se rom and make an update before installing 2.2/2.3 rom?
I have not clear why every custom rom targets a specific baseband, i thought that it installed everything no matter your current version
When did Sony Ericsson release a new update? Also, what differs this from .06?
Watch there : http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1101332
Can't confirm it yet but some people say that baseband wasn't changed on the newest update, which would mean that you can definitely use any of nAa's ROMs.
yes it has been done, a lot have tried already
but NaA said there is no point in doing so
well if you want to try go ahead. then take time to use NaA's new clockwork recovery too since this update is still 2.1
Hi all,
it can be a very N00B question but this thread is a mess and I can not find things I really need.
I succesfully rooted and completely modified both HTC G1 and the new Galaxy Nexus, but now, a friend of mine has this LG P500 and im looking around trying to find all the necessary to root - recovery etc ..
now..
I will use SuperOneClick because it is a 2.3.3 Android FW.
I will Flash AmonRa recovery 3.06 found in a P500 Android development Thread, as flashable zip.
Im gonna use .35 kernel from Franco, 'cos Im using it on my GN and it works like a charm.
But, I cannot find a good rom!! is there anybody who can help me?
This phone now is:
kernel 2.6.35.10
android version 2.3.3
the only things I know
Thank u all!
you can use the kang version by adam. It is CyanogenMod 7.2.

For the recovery, i will suggest you use ClockWorkMod. Download it from the market. The latest version is 5.0.0.6 and please be ensured to flash the 5.0.2.0 recovery version as the latest version is buggy.
I'm downloading it!! thank you
do you know if there is any new Radio ? I can't tell you which baseband this phone is using now btw, she cant find the "version" from "about phone"

If you before had stock gingerbread then you had the new baseband version. If not, you need to flash the new baseband as all new roms are now based on new baseband.
Follow this link for flashing new radio.

1. go to settings and then check about phone. should give you the model
3. i believe yes for the most roms
1) how the heck do you know if you have an x10i or x10a??? (we know its the mini pro as has the keyboard )
A)U can check it at setting-->about phone
2) what tools etc do we required?
A)If it was from 1.6, u can upgrade to original SE stock 2.1 update 1 using pc companion. Any latest 2.2 or 2.3 ROM u will need to root your phone using some application. (try to use super one click)
3) do you have to upgrade to 2.1 before 2.2/3?
A)No, u dont have to.
4) what is the basic procedure to flashing?and whats needs to be done?recovery etc?
A)To flash ROM (any custom rom except SE stock rom)
i)Your device must be rooted
ii)Most of the custom ROM can be install using Clockworkmod recovery or Xrecovery, thats mean your rooted device must have any revocery apps on it. but sometime u can flash ROM using Flash tools (if the rom is in ftf format)
iii)To flash kernel, you must unlock the bootloader. After that, u can flash kernel using Flash tools.
5) finally whats one of the best roms(2.2 x)?
A)I have no idea about which is The best roms. But if u like to have ginger bread custom rom. I suggest to use MiniCM7 2.2.0 (android version 2.3.7) and the other one is MiniCM7Pro V21. This two ROM knowing as the most stable ROM than the others. Any problem u can find the thread about all those things and tools that im mention above.
is this help u?
<---------- i will be glad..
I flashed some custom rom, replaced kernel for years, but now the phone is damn slow and features are disabled .. As I remember, the firmware that came with the phone were the fastest. So, need to flash it back to the very first stock kernal and firmware.. I guess the very first firmware is 2.3 when the Neo-V first released to public. So, can anybody please provide me the download link for stock firmware and kernel ?
Regards!
