I was going to tag this on to the debranding how-to thread but the forum won't let me post there..
..after downloading the stock samsung KE7 firmware I entered the code to bring up the CSC menu.
It says O2U in the white box at the top of the screen but below is a single blank option - it doesn't say XEU anywhere.
What difference does it make? Is it just that I won't be able to update in future using KIES?
CSC nothing to do with updates via Kies .
Kies will update the O2 firmware but may not update flashed firmware as the codes may not match on the server .
See the CSC thread if you want to flash an XEU CSC but that may wipe your phone . If the phone works dont bother as CSC is not relevant .

Yes the phone works. Except that when Kies connects it does not tell me the current firmware or whether it is the latest or not.
I have downloaded what I believe to be samsung stock firmware so I would have though Kies wouldn't have a problem recognizing it.
In nearly two years i have never got Kies to update stock firmware .
Original firmware yes stock never though some claim it does .
LuffarJoh would not need all that hard work if it was true .

Thanks for the links... interesting reading..
I've just run check fus downloader and it's found the firmware from O2 is KE2.. correct.. so if I download that firmware file I can flash my phone back to stock using odin?
And conversely if I ask it to find the latest firmware for the stock european region I can flash that to my phone too (it is KE7 so I think that is what I have done already)

Yes but O2 firmware download is posted in the branded roms post in dev section .

Most networks have upgraded no further than KE2 probably waiting for 2.3.4 release .

Have you asked in Intratech's thread if he has a copy (he probably doesn't, but you never know) ? If he doesn't have a copy, I doubt you'll find anyone else on here who does.
Why not flash the latest official firmware available for your carrier/country ?

I know that there are probably a couple of threads on what i will ask now, but I have a couple of questions regarding the I9100P firmware.
First of all I installed a i9100 firmware(4.03) via ODIN.Does this mean I routed my phone? Kies now tells me that i can not update my phone because my device does not support update with kies.
How can I flash it back to my 2.3.4 firmware? Must I download the firmware from sammobile.com?

How to get an update via KIES one install your original saved firmware or find it via Checkfus .
Whenever the phone provider and Samsung have uploaded new firmware for your phone then KIES will offer it to you .

I think i got it. I also succeeded flashing the old original 2.3.4 firmware, but i will flash the 4.03 again.

hi i've been trying to get stock rom and kernal for 3 uk so i can update my phone through kies to get the new ICS 4.0.3 because it has been released today for download through kies on Three.
this is the information of my current kernal etc..
Android version - 2.3.4
Baseband version - I9100XXKI1
Kernal version - 2.6.35.7-I9100XWKE2-CL187606 [email protected] #2
Build number - GINERBREAD.XWK14
can someone link me the required files or something in order for me to update through Kies to ICS? 90% of all links in the stock rom thread don't work because multiupload is down, please help me..

STOCK is SAMSUNG firmware .
If you want 3uk firmware then restore your original saved rom.
Not bothered to save it then CHECKFUS is probably your route to 3uk firmware .

If you as the owner don't know then nobody else will know .
Just guess at a version of 3uk firmware for your location .
Or ask on a 3uk forum what is your firmware .

KI8 is the newest Gingerbread Three ROM apart from the ICS build released today.
I don't have it to upload though, I only have I9100XWKE1 which is a very old build, But if you can't find KI8 Three stock anywhere I'll upload it somewhere for you.
[edit] Infact I have KI8 on my PC if you can't find it online let me know.
Personally though I'd just flash LP7 much better than LPQ that Three have released today & not as much bloatware!
Because I am a really nice person, Don't complain about speeds this was the first link that would let me upload over 300mb

So since I don't know what region my phone is from, can I flash any of the firmwares listed in that link? My i9100 is international version because it has the physical home button. please tell me I don't want to brick my phone by downloading the wrong region firmware. thanks.
Yes any version providing it is a i9100 not i9100G or some other model .

What is your intension to going back to Stock? since you have no warantee issue..
enjoy any of the stable custom rom...
also you can check region wise firmwares releases here www.sammobile.com
You wont brick your phone by downloading the wrong region ROM. You can put any version from any country only if your phone model is I9100 and not I9100G or any of the AT&T or T-Mo ****!
Just go to about phone and see the build number and kernel and all, you'll probably find the rom and kernel.
