[Q] Call Waiting in mik_OS 6.5.2 ????? - Optimus One, P500, V General

Anybody facing problem accessing the Call Waiting settings under Call Settings in mik_OS 6.5.2 ?
Everytime I go to Call Settings ---> Additional Settings to access Call Waiting, it tells 'NETWORK or SIM Card Error' and the Call Waiting option is grayed out.
I'm using mik_OS 6.5.2 with franco_Kernel 15.1.
Any help is appreciated!

No problem at all, working fine for me. The call waiting is actually set by service provider and the cm settings read those values from provider using some kind of ussd code. So I don't think its rom problem.

Thank you for the info. but another user is also having similar problems :

I think it is affecting carriers in India. Can anybody from India please confirm if Call Waiting settings is accessible???

Call your service provider. As said above, it is not configured anywhere on phone, the phone just uses some *#1234# whatever code to find out the settings and/or change them if the network allows it.

im from india on airtel, no such problem for me !

no Problem
i m using same verson of mik_os and i think its nt about d ROM its about default value of Indian carriers . thy hve already a default value for call waiting u don't need to switch it on ....

Havent tried a diff sim card yet, as to network settings I've tried all the different access points to no avail, this is my first rom ever I've installed and am frequently checking the actual development thread. Just a quick note, a freind of mine is running cm07 on his nexus and he too has the same problem, maybe its a carrier issue??
Thanks.
This thread can go to wasteland now, I'm not sure what happened but its working now
Hijacking OP.
If you don't mind, I'll use the thread to follow up on some issues I'm having.
I found 9Lukas5 step-by-step guide for clean install the most helpful. My English is not perfect so it was really appreciated his precise instructions.
I try keep up with the CM7 thread but there's 100s of posts each day. From what I gather, latest version CM7.0.3 with K011 is stable, no WLODs and can now enter deep sleep.
I can't.
I wanted to ask about two items I've seen recommended in the CM7 thread:
- manually select Network Operator
- disable Automatic Time/Date from Operator
Manually Select Network Operator
From a fresh install, the phone boots up and the APN appears to be configured because I get 3G / H right away. Just to follow instructions, I go to
Home -> Settings -> Wireless & Networks Mobile Networks -> Network Operators -> Searching... Pop-Up -> Telcel GSM (that's my carrier).
Whether I click on Select Automatically or click on my Carrier name, I get the same response, "Registered on the Network".
Is this enough? When I click on my carrier, will that count as manual selection? Do I need to do something else or something different?
Disable Automatic Time/Date from Operator
In the same manner, I go to:
Home -> Settings -> Date & Time -> Unselect Automatic.
Should I reboot the phone? Will rebooting cancel the manual selection of my Network Operator?
I'm done too!!!
Just installed K012 (128) and it fixed everything; I'm getting plenty of 128 and lots of deep sleep.
Please note you cannot be charging your device for deep sleep to take place!!!
I just installed K012 so I can't report on crashes, WLOD or FCs, but if I get any I will post again.

I had the same problem not only with whatsapp but also with viber etc. I fixed it by creatin my APN settings manually.
Settings/Mobile Network/Connection Settings than tap home buttons left key / New APN
you can ask APN settings to your cell provider.
Usually it's not the cause of Whatsapp but your provider blocking it.
Many (if not most) providers are either incapable or unwilling to use transparent packet inspection (not necessarely Layer-7) and rely on the phone to have a Proxy server configured in the APN.
Interestingly exactly this proxy is usually not even given in the configuration details.
Some providers (such as mine) even attempt to do their bandwith throttling via the proxy. I don't complain since I don't use it =)
But other applications are ok with this default configuration. And Whatsapp in my HTC phone worked ok on 3G data with default settings...
later edit - found the solution 4 the problem, when flashed the new omega rom, it put all the APN profiles my provider has, including some ****ty MMS and WAP APNs. After I deleted those and left only the Internet APN, things got back in normal.

Whatsapp application problem
Hi all,
I am using samsung galaxy s duos.I am unable to send messages through whatsapp when I am using aircel network, other networks it is working fine.Is that the problem with aircel n/w or whatsapp application. If any suggestions pls give me replies......http://forum.xda-developers.com/images/smilies/confused.gif
Also had a problem with WhatsApp messages not being delivered when on 3G but they would on Wifi. I thought it was something to do with droidwall but the resetting off APN settings makes sense.
I shall try that and hopefully it works.
Okay resetting the APN's did not work.
I am running Omega Rom and Jkay but this happened when I ran stock as well.
On 3G messages will sometimes come through immediately, sometimes not. They will always come through on Wifi. They will also come through if I open Whatsapp. Not sure if it is ISP related but when I had a Nokia on same ISP I never had this problem.
Does anyone know if something in Droidwall would be blocking this?
Thanks!
I was having problems since yesterday with my phone. Even not having the S3, one quick look here and found the solution. Thanks.

Please help, some oreo rom without network issues

Hello,
Can someone please suggest me some oreo based rom which doesn't have network issue. As, I'm in India with Jio & Bsnl as my two networks, and everyday once in a while bsnl stop taking calls.:crying:
I have pretty good network coverage on both networks(i.e. Jio & Bsnl).
I'm on Bootleggers rom 8.1 latest build for Kenzo device.
I use Jio as my primary data sim with LTE network, and bsnl as my primary sim for calls.
Maybe this configuration is issue or the rom itself idk.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks.:highfive:

okay here's what i had done, firstly i have flashed latest 8.7.3's firmware & modem files(thought it might resolve my bad network reception nd sometimes network loss issue), but to my bad it make it more worse.
I lost my volte ?
Then, after some searching I flashed full global rom of miui 10, but it was also not able to get my volte back, nd even get my imei erased ?
So, after all this I flashed my full backup of stock rom. which gave me back my mobile's imei & volte back.
Then, I flased cardinal rom this time, i didn't faced network drop this time, but BSNL's reception were low as before only.
And after some searching, I went through this post
https://forum.xda-developers.com/redmi-note-3/how-to/fix-low-weak-poor-wifi-signal-en-redmi-t3750278
& gave it a shot. IDK of others but it improved my both network's reception ?.
I think you should also try this guide, it will improve network reception of both wifi nd mobile network.
Currently, I'm with almost full reception on both network's. will see if I face any issues with this tweak.

Sorry, rightnow I don't have the mobile, coz it's my mother's mobile will upload pics also as soon as I get mobile.
But, for some reference here's the link:
http://en.miui.com/thread-3019322-1-1.html
I just stick foil paper on both left & right ends.
But, my problem still persists of call not working for BSNL.
here's what I have in configurations & what problem I am facing.
# I have two sim cards:
in 1st slot BSNL
in 2nd slot JIO
As, mentioned by you I have selected global as preferred network for both the sim cards
(But, as personally observed by me, this doesn't matter much, if settings are GSM & LTE or both Global).
I have more than half network coverage in my mobile every time.
# My configuration in Sim settings is as follows:
Preferred data : Jio
Preferred call : BSNL
Preferred sms : Jio/BSNL (Does't matter)
Volte is working fine :good:, internet is working fine also, but by this configurations I get call issues in BSNL.
# Changes I perform which resolves call issues of BSNL are:
Preferred data : BSNL
^^Rest settings as above
This resolves the call connecting issues of BSNL, but as soon as I perform this change, Jio's volte stops & internet also (internet is obvious).
So, that's what I am facing. Try this yourself & see if you also facing, if not then what's the problem.
I know the culprit is "preferred data".
Summary,
# If preferred data BSNL, then volte issues
# If preferred data Jio, then call issues
Please tell me what to do.

No, I was not having issues with miui global rom, and now I figured out why
Firstly, all the issues were caused because of the sim configuration settings only, coz previously when I was on miui rom I was using Jio as my primary sim for all the things (i.e. calls, net, and msg)
But, now I was using BSNL for call, & rest Jio
So, the solution came out that when volte is enabled in a mobile, then the same sim card should be used for calling on which volte is enabled.
I mean, as I was using BSNL and Jio sim cards, I was also enabling volte in my network settings for Jio, which enables volte for both sim cards.
And VoLTE = Voice over LTE, but BSNL doesn't have a LTE network available.
So, that was causing the issues in connecting calls.
So, the solution was simple
Disabled volte(or Enhanced LTE).
Now, all things are working good calls, data, msg :highfive:
Thanks for being helpful bro. :victory:
and are you able to do that foil paper hack ?

Hello,
Check that sim card in other phone to make sure that's P20 is the issue, if possible, check as well Your P20 with other simcard.
If the issue will be related with P20 make sure u didn't messed anything up in "Settings - > Wireless & Network - > Dual SIM settings"
try to switch simcard to other sim slot,
try to check/reset apn/network settings.
Check if there are no pending updates via OTA.

Call Forwarding issues with MIUI global 10 ??

Pocophone just arrived, one thing I absolutely need is call redirection services while I am roaming.
Usually I use GSM codes *21*[dest]# etc to set and on / off codes saved as contacts.
I test and my pre-existing redirect set on my old phone is working strange with this SIM inserted to the pocophone.. I cant cancel it on the pocophone either.. I use another phone to cancel it just fine but PocoPhone cant set it back up.
Looking in menus -> System apps -> call setting -> call waiting generates errors on all 4 options. Goes to reading settings and 'Call settings error Network or SIM card Error' note this works perfectly fine with a different phone on same network.
I am roaming currently, but other hardware operates just fine roaming and it is essential to me to be able to handle call forwarding.
Anyone else ??
Can anyone confirm if this is working on thier phone or network ??
Settings -> System apps -> call setting -> call waiting generates errors on all 4 options. Goes to reading settings and 'Call settings error Network or SIM card Error'
My brother got the same behavior.
It worked fine as he set the forwarding.
Later he enabled VoLTE and ( after unlocking the Bootloader) VoWiFi.
We can't figure out which of these 2 actions leads to the behavior yet, but we are looking into it.
Did you enable VoLTE or VoWiFi too?

Mine is working now..
I set it up with a different phone but with the latest build I can pause and resume the set up forwarding..
Still have a few issues (call echo, some camera problems) which reduce it from perfect but its very liveable.
Forgot to add.. I had to change the vendor firmware to get the latest PE rom working so could have been that..
