I was wondering what the latest version of Flash is available for the Eris (still 10.1)? The latest 10.3 is not available from the market for my Eris but is it possible to install it using an .apk?
I am running Ginger-Tazz 27 if it helps.
Thanks
0.0 is the latest.... It's not supported on the Eris.

Yup...specifically, Flash does not run on the ARMv6 processor.
No flash on Eris bud, everyone has tried everything. A few Tom's are flash friendly, but cannot play actual flash.
Set from my Thunderbolt running das BAMF remix 1.7 froyo
Thanks for confirming it guys. I remember about no Flash support for the Eris because it only had a ARMv6 instead of 7+ but I wanted to make sure.
Xtr has flash baked into his rom but it doesn't work well with flash heavy websites

When I had my Eris gsb 3.xx played alot more flash for me than xtr.

??? CM ROMs like GSB don't support Flash, only Sense based Eclair and Froyo ROMs with HTC FlashLite play Flash content on the Eris
Well to clarify, I was able to play a lot of streaming content from different sites whereas with the other roms, I would constantly get cannot play video messages.

Here's a modified version that works for Hulu with Dolphin HD in Desktop mode.

If you have the updated version of Flash Player 10.2 from the market, just replace this lib file under /data/data/com.adobe.flashplayer/lib/ using root explorer in order to work with Hulu.

Works great. Thank you

I can install the non-modified one. So i have 10.2, but when i try to install the other one it just says "application not installed"
Can anyone link to exactly what 10.2 adds over the previous version? Thanks in advance

10.2 is supposed to add hardware acceleration.
how ever on adobe flash test sites this still shows 10.1 not 10.2
It will only add hardware acceleration on honeycomb nothing else. Honestly I don't think we will see hardware acceleration till we get icecream samwich
Sent from my HTC Glacier using XDA Premium App
using the Hulu version, works great for the sites I frequent, definitely an improvement over 10.1, not sure about hardware acceleration but the videos are sure playing much smoother, ty for posting this because when I upgraded via market when it was released i wasn't able to view any of the streams I normally watch, so b4 going back to 10.1 I tried the hulu version posted and now I'm gtg
Thanks for posting man.

When i downloaded and installed Flash 10.2 it made my phone go a little haywire when it came to playing flash videos... So i had to use Titanium backup to restore 10.1.
If you need it and do not have it feel free
Note to mods:
Since Adobe is a free download i thought i'd throw this out there for people with the same problem. If you feel this should be removed feel free to.
Thanks! I just tried to watch a flash video to see if mine might work and no luck...so this is great!

yeah I had to do this too. it seems like embedded flash videos don't work right.

I also had this problem when loading 10.2 from the market, but I remembered a thread here with a leaked version from a couple weeks ago that included a hulu version, so I unistalled 10.2 and then installed the 10.2 hulu from here and now everything is great, 10.2 plays so nicely now so I suggest giving it a try, I'm running CM7 RC2 heres the forum link http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=991694
I tried.. no sound

Maybe you didnt read my post but it works fine on my glacier running cm7 rc2, even hulu using dolphin hd, but I guess if you're on a different rom you wouldnt know that? what works for some may not work for others and vice versa but for me using the hulu version of 10.2 here It works great, but then again i dont watch many youtube videos just Hulu and some other stream sites like jtv etc

maybe you didnt read my signature but it does not works fine on my glacier running cm7 rc2. The Flash 10.2 from the market would either play sound with a garbled video or the video would be smooth with no sound. I flashed back to 10.1 and it works flawlessly. That is why this thread is here for people to revert back to 10.1 if they want to. Not everyone (my self included) wants to run 1/2 baked custom .apks on their phones.
Thanks, just what I was looking for, flash update seemed to break most flash playback
i find alot of time when video doesnt work right if i change the resolution to 240 it plays perfect... thinking it has to do with my browser set to pc mode which puts resolution at 3xx. havent tested this but just a thought.
Works on CM7.1.0-Desire HD ROM ...
... on my HTC Inspire 4G when no version or hack of 10.2, or any version above that, would work.
Regards,
EJB

Yea, it now works for the Vibrant, so we don't need a gingerbread ROM anymore to play Netflix, because it works in Froyo now, yay!

Correct, no Flash support, and Adobe even said don't count on it happening. It's a shame, Android Chrome is great, just incomplete. Looks like it'll still be stock or Maxthon for me.
I'm using Chrome beta on Shostock2 RC6. I definitely prefer it over the regular browser. If you tap on a cluster of very small links (like the page forward/back buttons here on the forum), it brings up a zoomed popup and allows you to click the correct one.
I have chrome beta and it works fine I am on 4.0.3 ICS shostock2

I'm not digging chrome too much yet, personally. I found it little laggy and don't like the way it zooms when double tapped. It should improve with a couple more updates.
Chrome is a little overrated. I still prefer Dolphin over chrome.

Dolphin is good. I've been primarily using Opera Mobile for the last few months.
only if you're running Android 4.0.3+ ....
I had an old Galnet miui (first rom I tried, improper flash got me a yellow triangle following a novice tut) it had android 4+.
Typically the version depends on the rom? Any advantages over stock 236? I only wondered because I wanted to try Bastion on my phone.

Works great on Task's 4.0.4 AOKP rom.
I really like the way Chrome on my phone could see the tabs I had open on my laptop. Too bad I had bluetooth issues on all the ICS ROM's I tried and am back to GB for now.
Google Chrome
Runs fine on TurkbeyRom ics cream s.v5
Google Chrome works good on CM9

Yeah, having no issues with it either, and I'm running the same thing.
I am really enjoying Chrome on my AOKP 4/9/12 build. It installed straight from the Play Store without issues, and has performed flawlessly.

I suppose all custom ROMs based on a stock one should have it (unless the dev manages to break this functionality somehow).
Sent from my LG-P500 using XDA
Would you plz list some of the custom ROMs based on the stock one.
I am now having slimgen 1.6 and it doesn't support HW decoding for divx, which previously done greatly with my gingerbread 2.3.3

Come on, man!
If you have a fully functional brain and a browser supporting tabs, all you have to do is open a bunch of ROMs at once and check if they are based on any stock ROM (I assure you it is really easy).
Besides that, I'm not near a computer right now.

decoding
or you could get a 3rd party video player for your O1
i use moboplayer or mxplayer
Audio and video are not synced well in those mx players and so for me. the native divx codec (hardware decoding) do have fine performance.

Hydrogen,open optimus etc.
But where is the source. I found most of the download links expired or file not found message.
Could anyone provide download links for open optimus or suggest some gb based roms which you find good.
