Sorry if this has Ben posted in the past before but I didn't know if that thread would exactly fit my situation. So I've had my atrix for a few months now and I'm just really getting tired of waiting for the bootloader to be cracked. If any of you guys switched from the atrix how did you go about doing it? I just started eBay so I don't have any feedback so what would be the best way to get sgs2 money from my atrix. Thanks

I also had the atrix and switched to a gs2. Although i sold the atrix to a friend. I miss the finger printscanner on the atrix and the qhd resolution but overall, i have to say that the gs2 is a much faster and overall better phone than the atrix. Its thiiner, lighter, bigger screen, much better colors, i like touchwiz better than motoblur and best of all ... Unlocked bootloader!!!
Why dont you try selling it on craiglist?

Better try and sell the Atrix soon. AT&T is starting to cut the price. They will be giving it away for free soon.

Anyone returning their G2 for this?
I am really thinking bout waiting it out-- the gpu on that beast is 50% faster.
It'll take a few months (4-7 months(?)) for AT&T to get this phone.. unless you plan on buying it unlocked/international
I've spent way too long waiting for my GS2. I'll be keeping it for at least a year if not 18 months until my next upgrade. The Prime looks awesome but at some point you have to just enjoy what ya got... for a little while at least.
Nope. Quite happy with this little awesome monster.

depends on how soon it comes out for ATT. if it comes out before Nov. 2nd i'll be the first in line to do an exchange.
Not sure how the curve screen will work on flat surface, like lay flat on top of table.
Also, i think 4.65" might be a little too big, lol!

I agree with it being to big... that was the reason I waited for gsII and did not get infuse. If u want size get a tablet

verizon exclusive... thats no good.
been trying as hard as i can not go to get the SGS II with my upgrade and hand my infuse down to my wife before tuesday, when the prime is finally unveiled...
but if it's gonna be on verizon, i might as well go get the SGS II first thing tomorrow.
Yea, looks like vz exclusive.. I bought the gsII already but i still have still the 3rd of Nov to return it-- so we will see.
Kind of odd of Samsung to release something so much more powerful than the sgsII when the SGSII was just released a week ago.
This phone has all the power you could need plus that screen is way too big...imo

If it's compatible with AT&T and I like it enough I'll buy it unlocked, like I did with the Nexus One. I'll probably give the Galaxy S2 to my wife or keep it myself for fun. :3
I don't like the way it curves...
Infuse is already too big. Can't see a 4.65" phone being very usable.
Sent from my SGH-I997 using xda premium
You guys have to remember that the screen may be 4.6", but there won't be any capacitive buttons; all screen and minimal bezel (according to rumors, and how ICS is supposedly programmed). So the actual phone may not be that much larger than the SGSII. Which imho, is awesome: Large screen with minimal increase in phone size; best of both worlds.
There's nothing on the Prime that would entice me to return my SGSII for it. If I didn't already have my
SGSII this would most likely be a different story, but the bigger screen wouldn't sell me on it as its perfect already on the SGSII, IMO. The battery, however, if it were to truly be 2000mah or above probably would.

Well its only the USA that got the sgs2 late. Its been out around for a while now.
Im opting for the prime as it has a bigger screen. My first android phone was the dell streak5.
And i love the big screen. I was actually hoping for the galaxy note but i dont knw when that will come out
Guys, the screen is the same size as the sgs2. Measure sgs2 with the buttons and you get 4.6.

to all those saying that its not any better than, or worth getting over, the sgs2, who are you kidding?
if the leaked specs are somewhat true, it is one hell of a beast. 720p res vs 800x480? stock ICS?
If the rumor of a dual-radio gsm and cdma is true, I am for sure buying one to use on ATT
Not to remind you but it is a NEXUS device - updates will be out as soon as they are available. With the SGS2, you will be waiting months before Samsung gets around to doing it - if it ever happens.
Maybe...

Anyone know of a place i can get the photon cheap?? i currently have HTC Evo Shift and im looking into this phone. Just i don't wanna pay $550 for it.
Also what does bad ESN stand for??
Bad ESN means the phone can't be activated on Sprints network. Either its a stolen phone or the bill wasn't paid. The

That might be a tough one to find cheap as it is so new, you could look for one with a broken digitizer and replace it, but the digitizers are rather expensive if you could find them for this phone, so the amount of money saved would be negligible. better off buying a new one or waiting a few months. a bad ESN is the serial number of the phone that is essentially banned from the network because someone did not pay their bill and the contract was terminated or someone reported the phone stolen so the ESN will not work on the network. you can buy phones with bad ESN's and flash them to work on Metro PCS i believe but since this phone is so new thats probably low on the list for the Developers.
I'll sell you my photon for $300 after the 14th since I'm upgrading to the iphone 4s.

ok well thank on the info for Bad ESN. i'm just looking around even if its refurbished. but ty.
i can do 300 as long as its in amazing condition if you dont mind. it might take me 2 weeks to get the money ready. waiting for my paycheck

How can you turn your back on Android? :-( :-( :-( jk I was thinking about getting the iPhone now that its on Sprint but I knew I would be licking myself in the ass for switching from a Galaxy S2 to a 3.5 inch iPhone. Plus this thing screams and I understand that the iPhone is smooth and fast but not then this. Lol

I've missed the iphone since I left at&t,but Sprint's plans are just too good. I don't dislike Android, but it's nowhere near iOS when it comes to user experience. The fact that there is lag when swiping homescreens is pretty embarrassing considering it's a dual core phone. I was thinking about Nexus Prime but the ICS video is really underwhelming with the butt ugly UI.

Related & I hope I'm not hijacking but I lost my old Hero and am going to buy a Photon. Seems like Best Buy has the best deal for $99 these days? Any chance / opinions that the price will go down further soon or should I simply bite the bullet and get it ASAP?

$99 on contract is the cheapest I've found locally also, I've seen the Evo 3D for $79 online but the Photon has been praised in all it's reviews for having such a good signal.

I've heard nothin but good things about this phone except the fact that it has lag sometimes from screen switches which I'm use too from hero, evo, and evo shift.
But if anyone is getting rid of there photon for the iphone, let me know I would be glad to make a deal or something.

My iPhone 4S should be in friday from Sprint so my photon will be up for grabs soon.
cheapest without contract
The cheapest I found it was at wuzbee (.com) a few months ago; when I got mine it was something like $370 without a contract. The price went up a little since then and is showing out of stock now. Looks like there are some sellers on ebay with lots of good ratings that have it for around $380 now. Got another for my wife with a contract extension at Best Buy for $100 shortly after I got mine.
Look on Craigslist they go for $230-300 depending on condition. Before you buy call Sprint and verify that it's a good phone to use (as in good ESN). I bought mine BRAND new for $270, and I mean NEW as in I took off the plastic. Good luck.
ok well people who are going to sell there photon, send me a Private Message with a price. i will reply to it with in 24 hours
please and thank you :-D

Hey Guys! I'm visiting from the Droid X forums wondering about a certain idea i have been thinking about for a while....
The droid X has been plagued since its conception by its locked bootloader. Even though the dev field has made aw esome strides with this device (2nd-init)(Don't worry if you dont know what that is), we still have to rely on Moto giving us updated kernels. We do have Gingerbread, but the Droid X will likely never see ICS.
I really dont feel like buying a brand new phone for a while, mostly because im friggin broke lol. One of my best buddies has a Captivate, and I love the ease of use when it comes to flash-ability and complete control of the phone, especially with the unbrickable mod! With all these pluses, and the fact that since the Fascinate is a Galaxy S phone, with the same internals as the Nexus S, I'm fairly sire that the phone will get ICS some how.
I already have a used phone I have found that a guy is selling for really cheap. Depending on its condition, would you say its a good buy?
Thanks is advance!
Tony

Ill keep that in mind if this one doesn't work out. Thanks!
Anyone else have thoughts?
Yes the fascinate is still worth buying if you can score one for a 100bucks. development is still going fairly strong for being over a year old.
I think the Fascinate is a great phone. I'm sure we'll be seeing ICS not too long after the source drops. Just like droidstyle said, if you can find one that cheap, I'd do it. I bought mine back in the summer for $200 and haven't regretted it yet..... This upgrade I have is burning a hole in my pocket though... Damned Galaxy Nexus! XD
Yes
The fascinate is still hands down a very powerful phone. My buddy just got the Droid Bionic and it only gets average 25 fps in quadrant scores. My fascinate gets about 50 or more. So, yes it is still an awesome phone.
verizon sent me a droid x2 to replace another fascinate I had. what a piece of **** ..I bought a new fascinate a couple months back and luv it

I love mine as well. It has one of the best screens and graphics accelerators there is. The screen isn't too big and not too small. It isn't really thick so it slips in the pocket really nice. It is also a great looking phone.

I just upgraded to the Atrix 2 (old phone is borked). It's not much of an upgrade, TBH - I wouldn't actively seek it out.
Don't waste your money on the atrix 2. The oringinal atrix has a better dual core processor made by a better company, more dev support, and better features like the fingerprint scanner. The atrix 2 also has a slight camera lag.
Sent with Tapatalk from my Blackberry Playbook
The ATRIX 2 is not an upgrade. Its less of one than the DROID X2 was , and it was essentially a dual core and more meh screen.
Sent from my Motorola Atrix 4G using Tapatalk on AT&T, the company that disappoints me so much that I have to use my tapatalk signature to tell everyone
I've owned both, trust me, it ain't worth the extra bucks, save them for the quad core.
Go big or go home. Go with the Galaxy Note.
Stick with your current atrix the only true upside of the atrix 2 is the 8mp camera withci know for most is not that big a deal. buddy of mine has the atrix 2 he upgraded when his atrix 1 died and he hates it
Plus its so freakin expensive. Its hard to even find an Atrix 2 refurbed or used anywhere
Hello guys, i want your opinion about this. I have a Photon 4g that i buy from ebay - i am in Europe . The phone its great but i like to trick it with roms and stuff so my greatest concern is that there is not Warranty coverage in EU (i bricked it once so i have to send to some friends in USA - it took 3 months to take it back)
So i was thinking to sell it and put some more money (not very much) and to buy the Razr xt910 (EU warranty, Amoled, ICS ect) .
My problem is that when i go to one store to compare them i saw that the Razr is not better than Photon - but not at all !
So i want your opinion on this issue, what to do ?
Thank you, Johnny !

Get the Razr dude.
Beautiful screen, a bit faster processor, ICS (we're getting ours in Q4 which is so far away), it's WAY thinner.
I don't see why are hesitating.

The screen sucks. Amoled is horrible in my opinion! Haha. The razr is probably better with everything else though!

I don't understand what it is you're seeing about the Razr Developer Edition that isn't better than the Photon. It's everything the Photon is and then some. Better CPU, battery, lighter, thinner, stronger (Kevlar), AND has an unlocked bootloader!
The RAZR is so awful that I bought a Photon to get away from it. Loved the Photon.
RAZR MAXX could be worthwhile for the brute force approach to battery life, otherwise avoid. Screen is hideous, battery on regular flavour is atrociously poor, bootloader is locked down tight and the ICS upgrade is a long time coming. Aside from the gorgeous industrial design, there is nothing to recommend about the RAZR.

You might want to check motodev on that unlocked bootloader. A number of folks there have complained about getting the Dev Edition with locked bootloaders.
