RadioShack Evo3d $599 - HTC EVO 3D

Isn't that awesome of them to change it to $100 more? They must have caught wind that it was we were a little to satisfied or they got greedy with all the pre orders that the false one got and decided HAH! GOT YOU BASTARDS..
http://www.radioshack.com/home/index.jsp?camp=PPC:Google:TMhrase

Uh....says $499.99 there.
EDIT: Now it says $599

Uhh no it doesn't, Just called sprint and they are doing $499 at my local store.

Huh, now it says $499 again.

now its back to $599!!

Was wrong about Sprint, its $549.00 there. The flyer isn't changing for me at all, weird it does for you. I did call and confirm with RadioShack also for $599.00

Either way, it's $480 at Amazon no tax lol.

It's $599 @ RS. I just came from there talking with the store manager. I was going to buy off contract as well til they upped it. The manager was like, you're better off calling & getting the full upgrade which brings you to $199 and if you cancel, you're still making out. I just got the "complimentary upgrade" from Sprint, so I'm good to go

Just walked into radio shack in the mall (in going to see x men first class) and he said 499..... Hmmm
sent from anything but an iPhone

Where do you see the sprint prices at?

I called and verified with Sprint about the $549.00.

Whoa, they need to stick with a price, I was told 499.99 when I bought my stupid 50$ gift card at Radioshack to preorder my 3D. I'm still buying it no matter what, but damn...

Screw that , I just ordered from Amazon. With that $50 RS giftcard, Im only $519 in the hole instead of $599. I can deal with that. **** RadioShack

You really want to know? I they are tend to be 150 more than carriers

How can they do that ..I thought they had released the price already

Best Buy Pricing is listed on their website, $599. Amazon is the best bet for off contract.

yeah, add a new line $200
transfer currrent number to new evo 3d
then cancel your old line (pay the up to $200 ETF fee)
you'll still come out at least $100 saved rather than paying 599
depending on how far along u are in your plan, you may only have to play between 50 to 100 bucks for the ETF,making your savings up to $350 ,and maybe only paying $250 off contract for new evo, if say you are at 20 months in your 2 year contract

Did this with nextel for years. Thing is when u move/swap the #s ur old will b on the evo3d and the new line on the old evo4g. Now when you cancel the new phone number thats on ur evo4g there is no etf to pay because your within the trial period. So in turn u get it for upgrade price. They never said anything to me with nextel when I did that though times have dirastically changed and who knows...

You guys should be patient. I'm sure Ebay will have a reputable seller selling it at much better prices. Just be patient boys. I'm sure one will score a phone for $400 once the hype dies out.

Buying off contract prices (lowest is $469)

I'm planning on getting the EVO 3D off contract but so far I only see Radio Shack quoting it at $499. Has anyone heard of other retailer pricing? Does Amazon sell phones off contract? If $499 is the lowest and Amazon sells off contract then no tax or shipping cost would be better than RS or BB.
I realize the release date is still ad few weeks away but maybe we can use this thread to update competitor pricing for those looking for off contact purchases.
Radio Shack: HTC EVO 3D - $499
Amazon.com: HTC EVO 3D - $469 (no tax, free shipping)
bam! 4th thread asking the same question...... congratulations!!!!!!!!
short answer...... its all speculation. Leaked ad showed it selling at $499 off contract but nothing official was released.
oh that $499 price was Radio Shack. Sprint and Best Buy may have a different price assuming that $499 was accurate.
ok let this thread die until stores officially release pricing
My intention is to keep this thread dedicated to places selling off contract so people don't have to wade through the contract discussion. I would also update the OP to include the list people suggest. I agree there are too many identical threads but this would attempt to direct off contract customers here.
Brick and mortar, online, wholesalers, etc. Preferably avoiding shady places.
until there are official off contract pricing this thread is useless and would just be cluttered up with guesses providing no real info. Let the other threads collect that junk that have been collecting other people's junk.
When there is official pricing then a thread like this would be useful
I am buying off contract as well. I will keep an eye out on this thread but my guess is that Sprint will have the lowest price,BB will have the highest, & not sure about the others.
I just for an email about the Evo 3D from Sprint this morning.
It said $199 on contract with $200 instant savings, and that's it. It'd be hard to believe that it would only be $400, but that's kinda how it looked to me. I'll upload a screen shot in a minute.
Isn't this thing supposed to be an e-reader, weird.

thats how it looks at first glance but read it carefully. $200 instant savings. That may not mean $200 2 year contract instant savings. Or it could.
I just have a hard time believing that the new flagship phone will be cheaper retail than 5 other phones they carry all which have a $300-$350 difference between contract and non contract price
The fine print was posted here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1112504&page=3
I'm also buying off contract.
If it's $199.00 after $200.00 in instant savings then I'm guessing that's also after the full $150.00 contract renewal discount.
I'm predicting it will be $549.00 from Sprint and either the same or $599 from BestBuy.
I already posted what the price is in another thread
199.00 upgrade price
200.00 instant savings
150.00 the upgrade savings
total retail at sprint 549.99

Extremely easy. Just call from a phone other than the two you want to swap. They ask you to turn them off and they ask for some number behind the battery.

I'm hoping for some type of release of a off contract price. Seems kind of odd they haven't released it yet. Kind of pisses me off frankly.
so further thinking, instead of paying $549 for the off contract price, i could buy a new phone, switch the numbers, and pay at most $200 fee. So far $400. Then ebay my old evo for circa $200,and that leaves me with a net off contract price of around 200 bucks for a evo 3d, not bad....
somehow i think sprint has thought of this already and has ways to prevent it.
good luck though

well i know i can add another line, sprint will love that
then i know i can cancel my old line, all they can do is charge me the ETF fee, which is only $100 now since im 1 year in. so i'll pay $300 for phone and fees. then sell for 200 ebay leaves me with paying only $100 for a evo 3d and off contract at that.
the only hurdle to leap is sprint easily allowing me to switch my old number to the new evo 3d

Like what? Stop you from adding a new line? Not allowing you to cancel one of your lines? I tried to talk to a rep about upgrading my discount but was unable to do so.

[Q] How much did your EVO cost you?

On july 1st I'm going to call/ chat to see if I can get the full upgrade restored (since that was the date I was going to get the $150 upgrade until they shafted us. :/) On another note, I'm also eyeing Amazon's off contract ($469 total) princing which isn't too bad.
Still I'm interested to hear how much in total, did each of you pay for the EVO 3D, did you have your upgrade ($75/$150), exisiting customer, evo trade in? etc.
Details.
Well, if sprint gives me the $150 for the evo (like they currently say that's what they are giving from sprint buyback) then it will only cost me $50 tomorrow.

Yes I've sold enough on Ebay to know this. I'd have to sell it at $175 on ebay to get the $150 peole are getting from Sprint. Looking at Ebay and with my track record I don't see a problem with this going over $225 especially with the condition and accessories I have.
I love these threads but at least the OP of this one posted it where we knew when we came in what to expect.
So ok
-250 for selling my EVO
-100 EXTENDING MY CONTRACT
+215 what the evo 3d cost me
=======================================
I made $135$ but as we all know we had to extend out contract and also the evo we sold did cost us money to begin with.
If i count the $200 i made on selling a extra evo 3d then it is even more
I made money on mine.
One year ago i walked into radio shack with 2 iphone 3g's. I walked out with 2 evos and $300 on a gift card (so i was already up $300 at this point). Later on i lost my one of my evos, $100 to replace. I traded my evo and $50 for the evo 3d. So all said and done, i made a few dollars .
I lost -50, therefore saying i made 50. Had sprint do a manual override to give me the full upgrade and then i sold my evo for 250.
$149.99 straight up with free/included 2-day shipping from Wirefly's Friends and Family "deal." I've heard a lot of malarkey about them charging you 300-400 bucks for cancelling before 6 months or something, but I feel good waiting until Monday to get it. It shipped today (thursday) but it's shipping across the country.
$199.99 minus the credit they give me for my Epic 4G since it hasnt been 30 days yet, plus i get a case and zagg shield, because im returning those as well to bestbuy, so im a happy campier.
Sold 2 EVOs for $100 each to family member and a friend EVO 3D $199 my cost zero.
Hello,
Sprint charged me $219.69 for the 3D with Florida Taxes. I got a 30 Dollar Credit from Retention when I was told that there was no chance that my 3D was going to arrive on Wednesday (which it ended up being Delivered then and before 10 AM to boot) with the 30 Dollars off, this brought me down to $189.69.
I sold my EVO 4G for 300 Dollars as it was Replaced last Week and I included 2 Otterbox Defender Cases, the Original Packaging for the Phone, Cases, also threw in the HTC HDMI Dock as well and also had the Box for that as well.
So I ended up making $110.61. I did end up buying a Otterbox Defender and Screen Savers to get 25% off and that cost me $49 Dollars. So with the new Case, I ended up making $61.31.
Cheers,
JJ
Ok I set the wheel in motion.
I called every dept to get my upgrade reset, no go but they did tell me this alternative below:
I'm going to buy-out of my contract for $75, buy the EVO 3D at $216.xx & sell my EVO 4G for the $150 buy-back.
It'll cost me $141 (Billed to the acct, due AUG) by the time its done.
Not bad at all.
Sold my EVO for $250 on craigslist.
Bought evo 3d for 199.99.
Got a $100 rebate for being a Chase employee.
Net- I made $150 to upgrade.
Sprint gave me the Premiere credit for a full upgrade (had this done at store since they changed it on us and made it a 2yr wait)
New EVO 3D w/tax 218.xx
Sold old EVO 4G to friend -180.00
Total Spent 38.xx
Could have gotten more for my EVO but hooked up a friend.

Samsung Galaxy Note $199

Frys now has the Note for $199 for new and upgrade customers. I just got mine yesterday. I called Best Buy and told them and they said just to go in and show them the ad with the price and they'll price match it. So for those that have waited, I think now is a good time to buy.

Thanks for the tip. I'm currently on the phone with them getting my account credited $100. At first, they suggested that I return the phone and then go get it at Frys, but after I asked to speak to a supervisor and I pointed out how ridiculous it was that they wanted to lose the total sale of the phone instead of just crediting me $100, they went ahead and credited the difference.
Don't be mean, but don't give in. Niceness goes a long way with CSRs. They have to deal with such typically crappy crap all day, every day.
I just came back from Best Buy. Got $100 back on the card I used. Was in and out in 10 minutes. No problems at all. Pretty stoked that I got the Note for $200.
I justed called AT&T and they said they couldn't match fry's price for note and new line. No luck with best buy either because they say store has to be in a 20 mile radius. So for now I'm still note less!

Yeah. No problem . The $149.99 would have been awesome but I tried 3 different Best Buys and no luck. $199 is still a pretty darn good price for a phone that started at $300 a month or so ago.

That's exactly what happened to me. I price matched last weeks ad that ended yesterday which was $230 and went back today to price match it again. And I just got the phone yesterday.
I just did the $239.00 price match at BB yesterday due to the Fry's ad. Now heading back to BB with the new Fry's ad to get price match to $199.00. I originally bought the Note from BB and had signed up for the BB offer a while back to get $50.00 credit if I bought a new phone from them. Now, my note only cost me $149.00. Not bad.

All Bestbuy in my area will do pricematch. All i need to do is either tell them to go to the Walmart website or call Walmart store to confirm. Done that many times, The guy took care of me in BB sometimes he did not even look up, just ask me how much then changed the price in the computer (twice)
Thank you soooo much for posting this! I just ordered my Note via Amazonwireless and I sent them a message to get the $30 credit back for a PM.
Great value IMO since AZ gives you a free car charger and $25 worth of apps for $199 shipped free and no tax!
Amazon just lowered to 199 also. Really would rather not jump from sprint but soooo tempting....
Confirmed!! 31 bucks cash today from BB, and they said comeback if it lowers again within my 30 day window..Sweet!...
best buy met the amazon price of 249 when I bought this 3 weeks ago, and, I went back yesterday with the WalMart price, and they credited me back the difference; 2 price matches on the same phone!!!
I don't know about some of you, but I have great luck and service when I go to a BestBuy store..calling them on the phone sucks, but, it pretty much does everywhere else you try to get info on the phone too, so I just don't bother calling them.
I have called Amazon many times and always get someone on the phone very quickly. Kind of reminds me of calling Apple. Both have awesome service.

Went to Best Buy tonight. They searched online for the price and price matched it with Walmart!
This scenario sounds just like what Fry's did a little over a month ago. $200 for either new or renewal customers. No questions asked at the local BB I went to for price-matching that.
No love for me from Worst Buy. Went in ready to get 2 of them, would not pricematch either the walmart nor amazon price, had printout and all. Called local walmarts, none sell in store. So no pricematch. Ready to pull trigger, but not worth spending 100$ extra just cause. Will go to a different one and see if they have in stock and get it another day.

Amazon is now $189.
If you're dead set on buying from Best Buy....just buy the phones for $249....use them for < =2 weeks...see if the price drops any more till then....then you ask them to price match for least the 199 Costco has them for. If they say no or try to make things difficult...tell them you want to return both phones....I guarantee they will match the price!

If you seriously want to buy the note from a B&M store, hit up sam's club or costco. They only charge you tax at what you pay (the $200) and not the full retail price of the phone as many companies do.

I got mine from Costco's wireless store online for $210 shipped. Came with a car/wall charger, screen protectors, pouch, and carry case. Free activation + Free shipping. I was gonna get it in store from AT&T but they would only match the free activation :/

Just an FYI I don't even have a Costco membership, and it never asked for a mem# at anytime in the order process. This is by far the best deal considering it was $210 including tax and shipping.

What would you pay for an Evo 4G LTE?

Just going through some ebay listings of the phone.
Looking at those that have closed in the last 2 weeks, I see prices from upper 400's to mid 700's.
This listing here really takes the cake though.
$740!!! At least the buyer got free shipping. I thought $200 alot to pay, but [email protected]!#, $740!!!

I see a few others have closed at ~$700 too.

Well I was the Winner of that $740 dollar Evo and I find it to be worth every penny lol. I was off contract with an amazon preorder and canceled it in desperation when we had no date. Believe it or not I actually got it faster and cheaper than off contract at BestBuy which would have come ~$760. My OG Evo crapped out and I was completely phone-less so time was of the essence and I was shooting in the dark.
Tl;DR You know exactly how much I was willing to pay . Winning bidder: Crowordove
Also I think it's the funniest thing ever to be called out for my Evo desperation especially since I'm on XDA and got to be a part of it lol.
Is it really that worthwhile to remain off contract? You're still paying monthly service charges equal to what someone on-contract is paying. Your only benefit is the ability to cancel service at any time. Now if they gave you a year's worth of free service for paying the whole lot up front, that might be worth it.
Thanks for chiming in.
Edit: Not calling you out personally, just trying to get a grasp on how folks justify such purchases. I've heard of people paying exorbitant amounts on other devices - iphones, ipads, etc.

Actually I'm in my 2 year contract coming up on year one here shortly. I'm paying off contract for a phone to use on my current contract. I was an Og Evo buyer a little over a month before the Evo 3d and decided to wait it out and chalk it up to bad luck. So this time I jumped for the new phone instead of a referbed Evo that I would have had to buy out of pocket anyway. The best part about it is I get an upgrade next year if I choose to use it
I think knowing that you can up and leave without penalty is a certain sense of security, in which I also enjoy being locked into a contract. i've been eligible to upgrade both phone lines for over 4 years, and just never had because i never found a phone I liked enough. My main phone was a Sanyo MM9000 (I have lots of them collected) due to it's ability to make calls in other countries without being charged and the data usage not being able to be monitored, etc. I was tethering on that phone for years with no fees, lol. My 2nd line was a Touch Pro which was basically the perfect phone, just too slow. Had they put this proc in it, it would be great!
Anyways, I upgraded both lines at the same time with pre-orders, one came in, they f'd up my order and only had 1 phone ready because they thought it was supposed to be one, then my other came later. The 2nd I already had buyers lined up wanting to pay $650+, but due to the idiots at BB's error, by the time I got my 2nd phone, they were released so now I just have my 2nd phone sitting on craigslist for $500.00 until it sells. And my 2nd line is back on the Touch Pro it was on previously.
First EVO = $200 - $50 pre-order GC with BB - $75 in gift certificates I had, so I paid $75.00 for my HTC EVO 4G LTE
Second EVO = $200 - $50 pre-order GC with BB on my 2nd line. I paid $150 for that one, but once it sells for $500, I will have basically been paid to get one.
This is definitely the best phone out right now. I'm still amazed at how much you can do with it, and I have been experimenting with WEP cracking, lol. Going to see if I can get the right adapters to use my external WiFi antenna with it, then load up BackTrak3 on it. ;-p

~$700 Bestbuy has them listed for that off contract as well as Amazon without the discounts they apply. After Amazons discount they are $550.

I love forum picture fights.
Seriously though it was cost effective for me and I don't expect anyone else to agree with me. My Evo LTE has been and will continue to be worth every penny to me.
