Does evo 3d support DLNA?

Yup.......
Sorry for a noob question.
But what is the significance of EVO 3D being DLNA certified?
Does this mean that I can access any pics/videos I have taken on my phone on my TV through my PS3 ( or for others directly on their TV if it were DLNA certified)

Yeah you should be able to access the sd card via another DLNA device. which could be fun with a 3D hdtv.
So, theoretically, I should be able to "Push" content to another DLNA device, kind of like Airplay on Mac products?

Yea I just got a 3D tv within the last few months....and can't wait to play with the 3D cam and the TV!!!!
:HIGH FIVE: to amateur 3D pr0n videos with the EVO 3D! There's going to be a lot of newly found James Cameron's out there...

I purchased a new HDTV right after christmas. I went back and forth about 3D. Since plasma is out of the question for me, I was limited to a few manufacturers that made LCD 3D tv's. I took home a 55" LG LED 3D, although it had great picture and the 3D was fun I was not happy with the Ghosting of the LED backlight in the bottom 2 corners so I returned it for annother which was DOA- the panel was cracked (they gave me a little hassle about this). I gave up on the LG and went with a 60" Sharp. So far Im happy with it but alas... NO 3D for me.. But I think that 3D is going to be getting better and better in the next few years, so im glad I saved the $1500 to wait for the new 3d tvs to come out. P.S. the viewing angle on the LG sucked. But im seeing the new LG tv that has no battery glasses and better viewing angle but have yet to try this at the store.
Im sorry bout my tv rant but eh? why not

I saw the demo for the new LG with those glasses that use no battery. Man was it really a good affect. the glasses are so much lighter to wear than active shutter glasses as well.

This was also a complaint in some reviews. It's speculated that it may have something to do with the layer of film on the screen for 3d purposes. Glad I didn't pre order, I know a lot of people have the phone already and I don't see the OMFGTHISFONROXBBQ posts yet.

I don't think it may just be the 3D, my sisters shift is the same way. I think its because I got the novatec panel on my EVO. I got no complaints cause the phone looks gorgeous

I have all my iPhone buddies drooling over this screen.
I think it really depends on what panel your EVO had. I know that the Novatec was much whiter than the Epson. I would say this was more like the Novatec.

OMFGTHISFONROXBBQ!!!!!!!!!!!
The 3D is SENSATIONAL! I made a video of my friend's salt water fish tank last night, and it looks BAD ASS. Everyone I've showed it to has had to pick up their jaws from off of the floor. I haven't tested the video's on my 3DTV yet because I don't have the MHL adapter, but today when I get home, I'm going to try playing the video via DLNA on the PS3 and see if I can get it to work.
The phone is blazing fast and seamless. Remember the OG Evo how it would slow down for a 5-10 seconds while an app was installing? Well, that is gone. GPU handles games that used to lag perfectly (i.e. Gun Bros). Sense 3.0 rules.
This phone is as fresh as the Evo was a year ago, and it makes the Evo feel like a dinosaur in comparison.

I can't say I've experienced that. It takes 2-3 seconds to switch from one mode to the other, but I haven't had anything get stuck or lag on this phone at all. My only complaint (if you wanna call it that) is that the high resolution makes the keyboard a little smaller and my fat clumsy fingers can't type as well as I did on the Evo, but I'll get used to it.
OK, maybe i have bad eyes, and according to the optometrist i do Anyway, point being, i seem to have absolutely no trouble seeing the 3d effect and i can see it from, not a wide angle range, but i dont have to be in the "magical" spot. Even all the photos and videos i took look great. Far better than the ones that came on the phone as samples. Lastly, the 3d content on youtube was awesome and very easily viewed to me. I am one to get motion sick easily and for some reason, i have no issues with this device. Like i said, maybe iim the exception, but i'm 110% satisfied with the device and the "gimmic" 3d
Yeah I think the 3d mode is pretty good. All though at extreme angles it will mess with your eyes.
I agree, 3d is very easy to see for me. It looks amazing too
I thought the same thing.
I played with a ds3d and hated it. Knowing that this phone had similar tech made me question its quality and ease on my eyes.
Well i can say now that the 3d is very good! Just got done watching green Hornet 3d and my eyes feel fine. I did fine myself loosing the 3d at times but I think that's cause I was looking at it for so long.
Pictures are a little harder to tune in and are harsher on the eyes, but the 3d affect is amazing! This phone is definitely a win in my book.

Agreed, Worst Seth Rogan film ever. Hurts my eyes too.
Now the 3D effect, is bad ass! Yes you have to have it at the correct angle but with a Kickstand case, no problemo.
Last time I got my eyes checked, about 3 years ago, I had 20/15 vision so I would say that my sight is pretty good. The 3D effect is good but I find, at least for me, that the window is extremely narrow. It really has to be in the prefect position, otherwise it's nauseating.

I must admit the 3D is much better than I expected, especially after reading the early reviews. I'm fortunate in that I haven't had the eye fatigue or headaches reported by some. But as far as the 3D effect it is very good, even the pictures I've taken; and practice makes perfect. As mentioned above, holding the phone still in important.
The YouTube videos are awesome. I upgraded from the 4G to the 3D for the new processor and Sense 3.0; 3D was really not much of interest yet that is all I've been playing with since I got the phone yesterday.
At a price of $199 after rebates, why would anyone in there right mind complain about a feature you do not have to use anyway. It is amazing that this thing has 3d along with all of it's other top specs of any device and still came in at the price point it did.
The only thing they might have done different if they did not add the 3d in would have been to up the camera to 8mp but even then, it would probably be the same camera we have now but just shoot larger pictures so who cares.
I also bet all the people who screamed gimmick are starring at there phone right now trying to find anything in 3d to view.......
Although right now, I am starring at my phone fighting with myself if I should push the button to upgrade my software or wait to see if they root the non-updated software!
Anyway, 3d is a win on this device! Don't know how much better they could have made it and cannot understand how any reviewer can complain about the way it was implemented.....

I watched the entire Green Hornet movie in 3D last night and I experienced no eye strain or headaches at all. I never took a break to even pause it: just watched it all the way through. In fact, about 10 minutes into the movie my eyes adjusted to the whole 3D thing and it seemed perfectly natural to watch it that way: not a gimmick. I really enjoyed it and the 3D effect is nearly as good as the plasma/LCD 3D TV's with the active shutter glasses.
Only thing that felt a little strain is my neck because I watched the whole thing while lying on my stomach in the bed, pillow under my chin, with the phone propped up against the headboard. Man I wish they hadn't deleted the kickstand on this phone because I really like the gel case I'm using: don't want to buy a case with a kickstand.
So I'm just curious, am I the only one who has no problem with the 3D (no eye strain)? Are others having problems?
Mike
Just curious...how far away from your face did you prop your 3vo? Do you wear glasses? If so, are you nearsighted, farsighted and do your glasses correct for astigmatism?
Thanks.

I guess 3d isn't for some people. I sat at the sprint store and watched a bunch of youtube videos and had no problems with headaches or eye strain.
I have a Sony Bravia 55” 3DTV with about 10 movies on Blu Ray in 3D (one of them being The Green Hornet) and have never had any problems having my eyes adjust or with headaches from the 3D. In fact I don’t think I’ve even had a headache period in the past 10 years or so, if not longer. I also have an HP Envy 3D Laptop. I’m extremely nearsighted and need to wear prescription glasses 24/7. I don’t have any problems with the Evo 3D either. I love 3D technology, it’s definitely no gimmick.
No headaches for me with 3D. I watched Green Hornet without issues.

But I'm guessing the TV and laptop still require glasses right? If so that would be why, it doesn't put the same strain on your eyes as no glasses 3d.

25 with 20/20 doubt thats the issue.
It's not how well you perceive objects at a given distance. So if you're 20/20 20/15, that's not the issue. The issue stems from one eye being more dominant than the other. There are several test online that will help you determine where the issue is.
Nah except for that ridiculous Spiderman game I've been good to go. I've been watching downloaded movies all day without a problem. My gf can't look at the screen for more than 30 seconds without looking like she has an aneurism though so I guess it's kind of subjective. Hopefully you'll get used to it soon enough

The phone was about 10-12 inches from my face. I don't wear glasses but I do have slight astigmatism that I have glasses for but I rarely wear them. The glasses make things sharper but they're just not worth wearing as the difference isn't huge. I'm 44 (thanks to those of you who thought I was "young").
Mike
Well I'm probably older than most in here and I am good to go now. I must admit the first night with the phone watching some of those YouTube vids my eyes were goofy as hell! Yesterday was better. Today...well, it just looks natural. I don't think it's an age thing, lol. Definitely needs a kick-stand, they screwed the pooch on that one!

Nearsighted with astigmatism and wear contacts. No issues here.
For me, it seems that the switching between 2D and 3D is what gives me a headache. Watching the Green Hornet 3D doesn't give me any eye strains. But when I go through the included 3D pictures, I get strains from the constant switching between 2D and 3D.
I can't see it
Don't own the Evo yet, but after viewing a friend's unit I discovered that I ~can't~ see any 3d effect at all, either in the Green Hornet, or in photo view/camera mode (and yes it was in 3d). All I can see is two separate images that flip back and forth like a hologram when I tilt the phone. Tried every distance between 8" and full arm's length (I'm far-sighted so 8" i can't focus).. I don't know whether my eyes are the wrong distance apart or if its because I'm severely right-eye dominant... Sad day because I was planning to buy this phone, but the screen drives me totally nutz in 3d and gives me a headache in normal/2d mode too.

LOL some folks that have a eye problem such as they are far sited or have to use one eye to read and the other to drive don't know what the condition is called can't ever see 3D no depth perception.
No issues here, nearsighted and wear contacts. I've always loved those images that you have to really look at to see though, so maybe that makes a difference
I think the 3d fun has lived a short life. I don't find myself shooting 3d video's or taking 3d pictures anymore. If the 3d had more of a pop out of the screen look, then maybe but most of the 3d available just looks like a hologram.
The thing that really convinced me I am over it was playing Asphalt 6 3d. I decided to put it in 2d mode so I can use the tilt feature to steer and then realized how much crisper and clearer the picture was and the colors were just beautiful. It made me really appreciate the 3d's screen. Put it back in 3d mode and everything just became so bland and dull with a hologram effect. Maybe if the car popped out of the screen or something it might seem much cooler, but until we start seeing things like that, I won't be purchasing any more 3d items.
At least it will be easier to jump ship in the future to a non 3d phone as I thought it would be something I would miss in the beginning.
Now after saying that, at least I still have a beast of a phone to play with!
Anyone else starting to feel the same way about the 3d and starting to use it less and less?
Hell no. I watched transformers 3 in 3d and can't wait for that. An avatar 3d.

3D is a bonus with this phone, and shouldn't be the main reason to get it. Mostly mine is used to show the phone off to friends. That and the printing capabilities. It took me 5 minutes max to get over the unique 3D experience glow. When I can lay the phone flat on a table and watch a movie play out holographically atop it I'll be impressed.

So confused why people think if it would think that if the 3d would "pop out" then it would be better. I think that looks cheesy and holographic. 1) you want that get creative and try new angles. It will have the effect. 2) Glad it doesn't I would have to wear glasses. to use and play with my phone.
sorry I'm a big fan of depth of field, and not Back to the Future II where Jaws pops out of the screen and tries to eat him.
I find myself taking almost all my pictures in 3D as I can convert them to 2D But I would hate to take it in 2D and later say Dang I bet that would have been awesome in 3D

Think you got that a little backwards there.......
One of the only 3d video's I found on youtube that I feel is of great quality and really shows off the 3d feature is the one below....If all of the 3d looked this good then it might have kept more interested in it:

Don't get me wrong, I didn't by the Evo 3d because of the 3d feature, it was everything else that impressed my, but the first week or so I was totally all about the 3d. Not so much now.
Thanks, yeah meant glasses free. It is so cool just to whip out the phone while waiting for appointments or whatvever dead moments in life. You can only surf the web so much. Adda another dimension. Ha. Can't wait for more of everything 3D. Loving it.

omg, the 3d is awesome! I wish the whole world was in 3d!
I love the movies but the games are lacking. I do get a bit of eyeache after a bit forcing my eyes to not focus farther away (through the screen) because it does look like the phone is my window into another world at times. I look away for a second and they feel better so it doesn't bother me to much. I think I will get used to it eventually
NOVA3D is great. (I have OC'd to 1.8ghz too) The shot's fired at you actually come "at you" so to speak. Also the guns being held have depth to them and the shotgun blasts are fun to watch.
Also I'm still taking pictures in 3d and 2d. I like to see the difference between the two. It's not even why I bought the phone, but it's really fun.
I see the 3D the same as I do the 4G...I don't use it all the time, but it's a nice feature to have.
I actually really like the 3D. Games are okay and pictures are pretty cool, but videos and movies are awesome. Although I don't always use it, I like being able to when I want to.
Does anyone know the term for what they are using for 3D movies in the theaters now? It's not the red/blue glasses one, but the one that looks more like some kind of cheap sunglasses thing?
The followup question, of course, will be to find out if anyone knows a way to convert our Evo 3D images to something that can be used with said technology?
Basically I am looking for any way to view the 3D stuff from our phones without dropping $150 for the nVidia kit or having to buy a whole new LCD TV.

Real3D is just a brand, like Disney 3D. Like Sony's version or whatever. It has little to do with the technology. The person who mentioned polarized glasses is mostly correct. Both home TVs and theaters work on basically the same principle which uses either "active" or "passive" glasses.
Active glasses charge and have batteries. Passive glasses are the ones at the movies. LG 3DTVs have also moved to non-powered glasses.
These are all called "stereoscopic" technologies. All are slightly different and it is a complex discussion.
I didn't read your entire question...but no...you'd have to invest the money to see 3D. Period. You will need a 3DTV, a 3D Enabled projector (with the nVidia 3D system) or the nVidia 3D setup with a compatible monitor. It is all very complex technology. And there is no way to just make it work otherwise. Buy yourself come red/blue glasses. Upload all of your content to youtube, then there is a 3D button in the lower left hand corner that lets you convert it to anaglyph (red/blue). So then you can watch it with those glasses on your TV. But the quality will suck

Any way to do it without Youtube and keeping it on the local computer?

The theaters where I live use active glasses. There is a sensor in the middle of the brim that gets the sync signals. If you cover that sensor with your finger, no more 3D. I think more and more theaters are going with active 3D.
