Thanks

I have had not problems with Go launcher until wednesday when my copilot icon disappeared then the next day 2 other icons disappeared which is weird. Luckily I had done a Go Launcher backup so it was easy to fix but I might email the dev for the app and let him know.
left feedback on their home page and downloading/installing the 2.31 beta to see if this works
http://golauncher.goforandroid.com/
Im having the same problem too on KE7..
Its not a big deal but its kinda annoying when suddenly some icons went missing.
i've found 2 temp solutions for it..
1) if in portrait, switch to landscape once or twice, it should return to normal.
2)if point 1) didnt work..backup the Go launcher config under preferences,n restore the config when when icons missing again..
N other this little bug, the launcher EX is a fantastic app!
I get the same. Shortcuts disappear. I just restart the phone and the icons come back

That's what I do... I just hope they fix the issue soon, it's a great launcher.
Wow, I had the same happen to me today, while at the super markeg my wife took the phone to take a photo, of our daughter and the 5 buttons at the bottom gone and 5 pluses were there instead. They came back earlier when the app updated though.

I had a little bit of flakey behavior with this one too, not just here but on the N1. To be truthful as time has gone by all the big players (LP, ADW, GO) have become more and more similar in their features and functions and to me it has come to a few simple things, with ADW I get a little hitchiness in the launcher, not big but its there, with GO I get a little bit of assorted things as described, with LP I get no issues and it works smoothly. With touchwiz I get no issues and it works smoothly.
I had been using LP but thought I would beat around the stock launcher and see what could be made of it and truthfully I like some of the things touchwiz as a launcher alone does. It used to be that when I switched back and forth between launchers I felt like I was doing something new and different, rather than the same old thing which had grown boring. Its one of the reasons I switched in the first place, to spice things up. Nowdays though the big three feel much the same, I know I have switched because of the little differences but it feels like using the same launcher. With TW I feel like I'm doing something a little different, its nothing major but its there. I like that. I like the home screen slider that allows me to slide from one far screen to the other or any screen instantly with one hand. No need to pinch and pull up the overview or swipe across. The only real fault I have with it is that you cannot define rows and columns and other basic setup items that would greatly improve my ability to set it up the way I want. I had been hoping that someone might step in and offer a utility that allowed that. So far changing default home and sorting the app drawer alphebetically is covered if you're rooted.
At any rate IMO unless you are a launcher fanboy start checking out the rest of them and see how your performance with your setup is, if its good and you have no issues you're done because the difference between them as far as function, form, and features has become very little. Also consider giving TW a go, it really isnt too bad once you remove all the wiz and use it strictly as a launcher.

I think you may have just swiped the 5 buttons at the bottom of the screen mate. There is a setting in Go Launcher to have around 3 bars at the bottom of the screen. If you make it so its only 1 then you can't swipe it and get those +'s.
lol Good point Matrix, the buttons are swipable so you can add more shortcuts there. I can see how someone could accidently swipe over and think he had something screwed up when the shortcuts were "gone" and only the pluses where you would move new shortcuts were showing.
Same issue here. Icons sometimes disappear when restarting the phone. Restarting again brings them back though

Is there a way to get rid of the damn bar on top that has the ADW icon?
It seems to run really smooth and has lots of options that you can make work well on the tablet but that bar up top and the ADW icon really kill it. I've tried VTL but it's really lacking in the options.

Known issue that the developer has stated will be addressed in the next version. Hopefully.
I had been using ADWex since last friday when I got it, and initially I loved it. But it seemed to have some issues staying in memory and became jerky when I added more than three or four widgets, even when I cut it down to three homescreens it still would reload the entire homescreen every time I exited out of an app, even if just for a few minutes. I tried system persistent and re-installing it, but it didn't seem to help. It looked great after it loaded, but even the default launcher was smoother and faster to load. If anyone knows why that might be I'd love to go back to it.
I switched to LPP last night, and so far it's been working the smoothest out of all three of them, even loaded with widgets and homescreens. Downside is lack of tablet customization, it's just the phone version supersized, which works and looks fine to me, but no honeycomb-specific features.
I had alot of FC's with LP where as ADW is perfect. I'm really looking forward to the honeycomb supported versions and getting hardware acceleration.

I've noticed that the stock Sense app drawer scrolls incredibly slow in the "All Apps" tab and isn't much better in the "Downloaded" tab. Compared to ADW EX it scrolls about as quickly as Verizon gets updates out. Has anyone else experienced this?
My Sense app drawer scrolls just fine.
I have tried both LPP+ & ADWLauncher EX in mine & while both work very well I didn't really notice any speed difference between any of them.

Absolutely! Especially when you use a live wallpaper. It's crawling at about 15FPS it looks like.
I've just decided to either stick with a static wallpaper in Sense, or use whatever I want to in GO Launcher and enjoy the high speed smooth scrolling
I guess I never noticed because I never saw the point in using a Live wallpaper.

I don't typically bother with LWP's either, but I like the ICS Phase Beam LWP, so I tried it out. It's not smooth enough though.
Hopefully having real ICS on this phone with hardware acceleration will help the app drawer to be smoother.
IDK how all that works though or if it effects all aspects of the visual experience or not.
Well, I'm not using a live wallpaper. Just wallpapers from my gallery. I wanted to give Sense a try and I do like it, but the reduced speed of the app drawer is enough to convince me to switch back to the speed & added functionality of ADW EX.
It's not slow, it's designed that way. It is meant to show one full slide at a time rather than flocking through all of them at once. It's just how sense is, you'll need ti install another launcher to change it.

Jim - Yes, I'm aware that it's set up to scroll. Thanks for the heads up on that for anyone who hadn't figured it out. However...
I fixed it. I was scrolling through the app drawer today and hit the "Menu" soft key. I found an option to display the drawer as an alphabetical list instead of an icon grid and now it's fast as can be! I also love the list because it's more readable. I know this might not work for everyone, but hey, it's better than waiting for one slow page after another, right?

Hello. Noticed this few days ago after one month having the phone.
In the App menu I don't find this behaviour, only on the 7 home screen. If I delete and put again its solved but after some time itvgets back.
So u say only on 7 launcher? If so then contact the developer since sounds like an issue with launcher if doesn't happen on any other launcher etc.
Sent from the valley of the shadows....
No it's not such App like 7 launcher. It is stock touch wiz launcher. I was referring to the 7 home screen specific to android like what do you see in picture at calculator and social hub etc.
Lol I looked at right side image icons and no where else can see slight gradient difference on some of the icons on right side but not able to look if TW issue as don't use it and never had on device for long, but doesn't look right.

Same thing
Infact i also noticed the same thing. Guessing it might be a small ui issue with touchwiz ui.
What do you say gurus ?
So I decided to try tablet mode just out of curiousity. I read that it makes non-sense launchers smoother. Well it does. For sure. Maybe not much but its enough to make go launcher Buttery smooth. So another thing I noticed is battery life? It increased? It could just be me but I find it odd that it was such a notocable difference. I'm sitting at 73% after a full days work in a building that barely gets reception. Usually by this point I have 50% left. So this left me wondering, could systemui have been poorly coded by HTC to the point where it drains a lot of battery? I know it seems ridiculous but I implore some one to try it before they say I'm crazy. Only because I may well be. Haha. So my question is, is there a way to get tablet mode to run on ics without forcing 192 dpi. Honestly the whole phone seems more usable and the quick settings I need are already in the stock ics notification bar. And whatever was missing I have in there using power controls a free app on the market. There must be some kind of edit to force tablet without going to 192 dpi.

That's what I'm talking about! Tablet mode has been my daily for the longest time and I agree that it definitly helps out with battery life and with smoothness of launchers (especially Apex!). Sadly there is no way just yet of getting the phone to run Tablet mode without forcing the DPI to 192. I know that the Galaxy nexus has their ways of doing it, I tried getting it to go myself and no luck so far. One thing I want to get working is the Pop-up screen when you connect to the PC.

Usually it depends on the App that you use to change the dpi, plus you need a launcher other than sense installed (you can have sense and something else like Go, ADW, or Apex.) I use the App call LCD Density Modder (Icon is a Monitor with a blue screen). Also It depends on the Rom that you are using as well. Some Rom's do not have the Icons in the SystemUI.APK to support Tablet Mode (Especially Sense 4 ROMS). As long as you meet all those steps you should be able to get it working with minimal problems. As stated above the only problem I run into is getting a force close when connecting phone to PC, the Pop-up that lets you select your connection mode doesnt work, you have to set your default connection type to whatever your going to use before connecting, and set it so it doesnt ask you what you want when connecting.

You cannot do this on any sense 4 based Rom. You need an ics sense 3.6 to be able to do it. Plus you MUST have a different launcher other than sense.

Hey man sorry for the delay, So the notifications quick keys is an app called "power controls" it is free and it's honestly pretty great. if you check the settings of the app there is an option to have the power controls stay in your notification bar. go into the app from your launcher and put a check mark in the box for notification widget. then click the pin. then click the slider looking button and you can check off which buttons to add. Closest I've come to CM7 settings in drop down.
it uses the built in accessibility features of ics to do it. this and SlimRom or any variant is the closest I have been able to get to AOSP. throw that in with tablet mode and GO-SMS stripped of all their special features except themeing and you're pretty much there. I may try GoContacts as well but the last time I did (with my evo shift) it was laggy so I haven't bothered yet. Especially since this device as a whole is waaaay more laggy then my shift in every regard. I can't imagine it would play well.
Also for standard DPI the GoKeyboard is quite nice and responsive, much more so than AOSP. These are of course my personal feelings so it may just be perceived and not reality. I used to hate GODev stuff... but since getting this phone it's the only way to get what I want out of the UI. Even their launcher is shockingly smooth with 5 screens and APW scrolling widgets on 4.
I've been dealing with the small fonts. it's irritating but what can you do. Every view even down to the Gmail app is more useful to me in tab mode.

you have to set the launcher to have larger icons. Not "large" mind you. A custom larger amount. depends on your preference.... then change the icon spacing to a larger amount. I think I did 7 columns and 8 rows. For the record I couldn't find go sms in the app store so I downloaded it online somewhere just google gosms.apk it's a free app so this is not stealing. honestly I can't wait for AOSP. I would probably take it in it's unfinished form even (just 1x and wifi.)

Found thisin slickdeals today. I take no credit just like to share with you guys on this nice launcher. I still use Nova because it's a little more intuitive.
Android App: Next Launcher 3D is free today (normally $16)
Yes, I know the original price for the full version is outrageous at $16 , but let's look past that seeing as how it can be unlocked today for FREE.
First install the "lite" version [google.com], then once you have it installed and running as your current launcher, go into the Menu (the furthest right icon in the dock, 3 vertical dots) and go into Preferences. Go into "About Next Launcher", then choose "Activate" and enter: "nextlauncher3d" as the account and "appoftheday" as the code. Enjoy.
As usual with any new launcher, you've got to set it up to your liking, but it looks pretty slick and appears to be pretty functional. Excellent ratings on the Play Store. [google.com]

Any suggestions??
Edit: NVM you can still select the activate even tho it's greyed out (man, am I conditioned or what?) Thanks for the tip!
Activate button is greyed out but if pressed it should take you to the screen to enter the username and code.

The button is grayed out -- but it still works. Simply tap it, and follow the rest of the instructions. Works perfectly. I just installed on my GNex (toro running Avatar ROM) and on my Nexus 10 (AOKP PUB - mrRobinson).
Do the trial and then do the following afterwards at the top. It unlocks the features but doesn't give you the full app. It is still labeled as lite and the full version you can still buy.

No difference between lite and full except name. Now I'm not sure what happens if you uninstall it and reinstall it later on a different device.
I think it's not tied to your Google account so back it up with your app of choice and restore it when needed.

I DO see a discrepancy, though: back in the Play Store, whatever I have installed is NOT recognized as the full product, with is currently at version 1.35.

I agree in general. I think Next 3D has potential -- if you use the features sparingly.
For example - I've found some of the animations to be extremely fluid and fast. Default settings on this launcher offer smoother animations than the defaults on Apex and Nova, although you can tweak the settings for those two to also be very fast.
I know that the Next team wants to showcase / show off their feature set. But by setting defaults to showcase everything (e.g., random screen transitions to start), the experience can be overwhelming to a new user -- and wind up being a major turn off. I'm trying to have enough patience to give it a fair test, get it properly configured, etc. One thing: both Nova and Apex can at least import homescreens and icon layouts (and, to some extent with Nova, widget layout), Next 3D doesn't seem to be able to import layouts from either Apex or Nova. This can make it pretty daunting for someone with 180 apps and a normal layout of 3 to 5 home pages.
I've been using the Next launcher for a couple months now. They've came along way from the first release. I have no lags or screen glitches with the animations look like no other phone. Only issue that i have is the default launcher will not stick when rebooted. I have to set it as default every time. It'll stay default till I reboot.
It's basically nova or apex with fancy animations. Features wise they are very similar.
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I337 using Tapatalk 4 Beta
I gotta say. I've been running Nova for a while now and I just downloaded the free version of Next launcher and I am completely blown away. It's not just fancy animations. Its some pretty awesome widgets, wallpapers, themes, and a lot of customizations you can do to pretty much anything. Some of the animations are a bit much, I will agree, but I'm really impressed with the quality of the widgets and just the theming overall. Very slick! If the full version wasn't so expensive I would have already purchased it.

I agree. I've lived with both Apex Pro and Nova Premium for several months, a few weeks at a time with each. They are both excellent, solid products, and they've been evolving nicely pretty well -- primarily doing what it takes to keep up with each other.
Next 3D -- after you've toned down all the random transitions, really seems to have excellent potential. I've already spent quite a bit of time dabbling with Nova's "aggressive" settings and Apex's option to keep code in memory, as well as adjusting screen transition time, but my initial impression is still that Next 3D is smoother. I'll have to spend some more time experimenting to be sure, but I suspect the time will be worth it.
The widgets are certainly impressive, but I was disappointed to see that the weather app seems to in vertical orientation. While that's generally natural with my phone, I use my Nexus 10 in landscape over 95% of the time. A bit annoying to have to rotate the screen to see the weather report in detail. I'll wind up using another weather app instead (back to Beautiful Widgets or HD Widgets for now).
But I really do like the speed and responsiveness, the icon animations, screen transition choices, and little touches like the dock rolling over to display different options. Definitely worth exploring further before a final decision.
