Hi. I installed the cyanogenmod 7 on my LG p500.I love it verymuch.but my battery is draining so heavily.is there any way to fix it,?

I used Juice Defender and it helps.

undoubtedly either android 2.3.3 or cyanogen mod eats battery more than usual, in their official builds (nexus one for 2.3.3 / htc desire for cyanogen mod 7)
and you're prolly using unofficial builds and there might be more battery drain than usual.
you should have considered this and i dont think any of the developers didnt told you on their posts.
of course apps like juice defender or battery doctor etc. are good
but if you hate ur liberty being controlled by those dumb apps (i do), just control your data/wifi usage well, make suitable overclock profiles, or buy an extended battery physically.

What about stock rom?is devoid.Franco better than stock rom especially for battery life? Gingerbread by Andy? What's that? Is it other name of Mick's cm7 mod?
Sent from my LG-P500 using XDA App
i have the same problem.. actually i update to the last cm7 cuz with the last "stable release" my battery get down from nite to morning 30% o.o... but with the update now is just 6%... anyway while im using my phone my battery drain so fast but like you.. i like a lot cm7

for what it's worth, void #echo or devoid.franco + franco.Kernel proves quite good as far as battery life is concerned.

yep, i had been reading that kind of comments about franco's rom.. i think i have to try it, all the ppl always say wonderful things about this rom and im really tempted to use =D
So here goes...
Well i realise this with every rom I use. Standby gives 1% per hour. I know not as good as most, but yea. However, with wifi on and browsing for 40 minutes, its already 8%. It aint really enough for me since I spend so much time here.

So far I used
- stock ROM: bad performance, batt - dont remember
- megatron with its kernel (2.2): absolutely best batt, 0-1% of battery drain per overnight (wifi off, data off, gps off); good performance; might be unstable
- LOL 1.4.2 with its own kernel mix (2.2.2): fair battery life and performance
-devoid and void with franco kernel (#14 it was then): not so much satisfied with batt. or performance in live or in quadrant test (sorry franco, i could not understand why it is so...)
- jince : very smooth ROM for everyday use; batt is little bit worsethat Megatron or LOL (5-9% overnight, all off; however ither reported better batt. life).
My choise for battery - Megatron v1 (with it's kernel)
PS. currently testing megatron ROM with Franco 18.1 kernel. Will post results.
Megatron rocks but its not as visually appealing.

I just went from mik 6.5.5 to one of the offocial ports. I dont know if i picked the right one. It seems like my battery is still draining pretty bad. Its using 11 % in an hour and i woulnd even say im using it heavyly. What official 2.3.3 port is the best and most battery sufficient. Thank you for your replies in advance

every 2.3.3 ROM I tried has bad battery lifetime... you can try to install APNDROID and leave data always on... some users say it is better then.
your problem maybe is this one:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1185241&page=11
Thank you for your answer. I'm not really having problems with it not staying in "deep sleep". The battery is amazing until I start using the phone even the tiniest bit. I'm on wireless at my house and im browsing the web for maybe 10 minutes and my battery is down by 7%. It's not only the web browsing but anything I do. I have it on 600/122 conservative
Sent from my LG-P500 using XDA App
are there any apps causing this?
go to settings>applications>battery use and see what causing it
and btw, what kernel do you have (right now and when you had miks 6.5.5)? im on miks 6.5.6 franco.kernel v18 and im losing only 1-2% an hour moderate usage 600/245
I need your opinion, what is the best rom for a long battery life?
Tnx

You don't need any opinion but your own
Too subjective otherwise - no shortcuts, you've got to try them for yourself and see what you get.
Can't say about ROM's but I can say that this Ninpho kernel is pissing me off!!!! Moving to CF, damn BLN.
Tnx..
NIMPHO drain battety very fast....

cognition 1.31 so far. i tried all of them. this one is bug free + extremly fast + long lasting
does cognition still give that 'stock' look ?
Best battery life is subjective and based on usage, mostly linked to screen on time and usage of mobile data and wifi as long as you don't have rouge apps keeping the phone awake.
Your best best is to try a few of the roms from the dev section.
Personally I have found villian rom and ninphetamine kernel to be a great stock rom based combo and cm nightly to be good, but there are limitations!
Sent from my GT-I9100 using XDA Premium App
It's very subjective and I feel it depends more on the apps you have installed really. Having said that, I get really good battery life with villainrom lite + ninphetamine 2.01 kernel (pre-BLN)
Vallian rom +1
what's your screen on time on there?
3 h 14 min till now
Hey guys,
i want to try the litening rom 5 and jeffrey's speed mod kernal combo but am unsure how to do it.
i understand that u flash litening through odin but how do you install the jeffrey kernal?
sorry for being such a noob
Thanks in advance
Flash it through cwm app
I've been using lightning rom v5 since last yesterday, and phone was fully charged over night. However in terms of battery life is has been pretty crap for me. Hardly used the phone today and battery life is down to 43 percent already. Only made a few txts and received a couple of calls. Gonna be trying villianrom and cognition over the next few days. Hopefully I see a big difference.

Could you be any less specific?? There's a difference between battery life as in how long can a fully charged battery last, and how many years can you use a battery before it's trash. And the OP and you are clearly talking about a different "battery life".
The OP just wants to last longer with one charge cycle and flashing a ROM has no affect whatsoever on that duration. It will (or could) however affect the total life of your battery, because battery stats are wiped and the battery needs to "re-learn" itself. But that is like 1 month shorter on a total life of 4 years.....scary Like we will walk around with our S2's for 4 years
Speedmod kernal seems the best for me. T22

Hi all I was wondering if you could point me in the right direction to a good x10i rom that boosts battery life and is stable, at the moment my girlfriend is only getting 6 hours out of her phone Max.
The only Roms ive seen so far are ones that have lots of problems! I just want something standard, a battery fix, she is not into customizing everything just wants a working phone thanks in advance

Wolfbreak, T.E.A.M. and feravolt are probably the best roms for x10
Edit: these are not in any order of preference they are all as good as each other imo

If Possible, try to change the Kernel/Baseband
Change kernel maybe but don't change baseband unless u using different android version (eg 2.1 or 2.2). You may need to unlock bootloader on ur device for the above (depends which kernel)

try using Donut Hd with doomkernel medium OC version ..the battery life is gr8 in it !!
Locked BL - Wolfbreak Stock/FreeKernel, Feralabs, CM7 ZMOD, DonutHD2.1
Unlocked BL - Wolfbreak ulbl using UC version of Doomlord V6 Kernel
I have roughly the same battery life regardless of stock based or cm based rom . I get lower battery on miui though

I think wathever you do, you battery never pass 24h. It's very rare to find a smartphone under 24h life battery

every latest ROM will give you almost the same battery backup, the difference could only be upto 3-5% so, in my opinion, you can use any ROM but you should be smart enough to use your phone properly, If you are gaming all the time, then your battery won't last more than a few hrs..
I would recommend hephappy's prereleases, with data and sync only through 2G and light use - reduced backlight, couple of SMS, few calls, short web browsing (check twitter, find some public transport connection,...) - i got nearly three days of battery life.
But when you are on 3G, heavily browsing or playing games all the time you can't expect any rom to last more than day (to be more specific from morning to evening).

All ROM have good battery backup... but you feel they don't like that because of your usage....
So do not post the question like this!
IMO stock based ROMs such as Oxygen etc... does have better battery backup than CM7 ROMs

True I have same battery drain (~2% per night) on all ROMs... people with lots of apps or data on at all times should NEVER give an opinion on battery life... you may get a signal from an app, randomly, and cause system to be totally random on battery...
Seek the signature below the line
