Hi, I have had this problem for a month now on my Xperia Mini Pro.
It started slowly, my network signals would drop and upon reboot It would be stable for 2 minutes but then die out again. When trying to connect to the specified network I got an error which stated that my phone was unable to connect to the network.
Today I found out that I can't even connect to the internet or get any bars.
It says just "No service" I have used SEUS and had 20 factory resets.
Doesn't seem to work, any other tips except sending it for repair.
When accessing SIM card options I get "Sim card cannot access network"
Any help, please?
Have you tried to put the SIM card in another phone to exclude that the SIM card itself is defective ? Try that first. If it will work fine in another phone, then it is a problem of your X10, if the card will lose signal in another phone, then the card is defective and i would suggest to stop by your provider and change the SIM. If it is a matter of the phone, it looks like a HW problem if even flashing through SEUS does not help. But we can put an eye on that too. But for now, try it in a different phone.
Tried on my Samsung and it works on that phone but not on my xperia mini pro.
I even tried other sim cards and it doesn´t work at all, can't even search for other networks.
Any chance you have changed network setting failing that send phone back
sent from this midget x10 mini pro using cm7.2.3.3 14.5
Don't think so, I just used SEUS and updated it to 2.1 however now I can search for networks but I get "This SIM card doesn't allow you to connect to this network" notification. I wish to revert it to 1.6 and see if this gets fixed since I started receiving this problem once I upgradet to 1.6. Does anyone know where I can get hold of 1.6 stock rom?

My XDA 1 phone has stopped working - no signal - can't phone - or internet or anything. It still connects to the emergency police number though - everything else works fine on the XDA. (It has ppc mobile 2002 on it.) Any ideas how to fix it?
Does this sometimes happen?
Is it the end of my device?
I have used the SIM card from my "non-working" xda1 in another phone and it works. I have used a SIM card from another phone which I know works, in my ."non-working" xda1 and it won't work .
I have set my xda1 to manual configeration, and it finds networks, it says available networks: KPN and Libertel, (I am in Holland). So I guess there must be a signal to and from my xda1. (Is that right?)
It doesn't give "telfort" as an available network. which is my simcard network. The xda1 says it is o2 uk all the time. Is it possible it still thinks I'm in the Uk and doesn't switch over to Dutch networks?
I'm in over my head with this...what should I do?.
I live in Holland - it worked fine. I took it to England - it worked fine - it switched over to the English phone networks etc. I bought it back to Holland and it stopped working!
I have just had a message on my xda1 saying: "unable to read settings from the net work."
The little mushroom icon at the top of screen never changes. There is no activity there.. . which I guess means there is no signal.
Does this mean the phone part of my xda1 is broken? If so, can it be mended?
a lot of questions I know!
Go to settings/phone and choose "network", when your required network shows choose it. It should do this automatically if "auto" is chosen.
I have the same Problem with my XDA1 and auto/manual configuration does not solve the problem. My SIM Card works with other mobil phones, too.
I upgraded the phone with the new o2 Radiostack, but still no change.
I tried the SpecialEdition Rom, bis the auto configuration did not work, so I got no signal, because I was not abel to set the phone to o2_de-loop.
Then, I upgraded the Windows to the new version available at o2. Sitll no change.
So, I'm going to disassamble the phone to check some soldering. I think this is some king of contactproblem, because sometimes - after serval resets - the XDA comes up with a working phone! But this only works until the next time I need to press the reset button.
You may have any ideas?
Greetings,
Timo
I'm not able to disassamble the Wallaby
The XDA must be closed with some kind of clip and I don't want to damage the hull of this beautyful and smooth device...
Greetings...
Hello
I have a problem, that seems to be related to the 2.1 update, since I haven't had this problem before. I've flashed both with versions from here and generic nordic version so I have tested several times from scratch.
I have roomies with the same phonemodel and carrier that have no problems. One of them use 1.6 and one 2.1.
My problem seems to be that the phone can't save and decide what NW to choose. Often I can have several text message dropping in at once several hours late. Often when I try to call I have to try up to ten times before the call connect, and most of the time when people call me they get I'm not available.
Seems it's no change if I kill everything non standard or even directly after re-flash. Do anyone of you know these problems and have an idea if it could be HW, SW or perhaps sim releated?
Since my roomies have the same phone and came carrier I doubt it's the carrier itself causing this. Both GSM and 3G coverage is great in the area. It can be noted that if I manage to get the 3G connection running, talking over SIP is 100%, but over GSM the receiver can have problems hearing me and sometimes I get this robotvoice.
So, for me it seems the radio firmware can be a bit off here, but is there anyway I can replace this separately or do you know of any fix that resolve the NW carrier settings that the phone seem to forget?
i seem to be having the same problem regarding delayed sms messages...
can anybody help please?
why not switch phones with your room mates and see if the problems follows the phone or the sim.
Mine is actually worse. SMSes doesn't even reach my phone. It happen twice already ( once in 1.6 and the second time in 2.1) Both time I solve the issue by reinstalling the phone software via pc suite. You should do the same
I have the same problem, i reinstalled the Cyanogen using xrec, and problem still exists.
Maybe anyone have some hints how to solve it?
Hi guys
I've experienced a weird bug lately.
When I turn on my X10 it recognizes my SIM card and I'm able to call, send text, use 3g among all other stuff.
But in some point of use it just stops detecting the sim card and i have to reboot the phone again. it's getting me mad because i can't figure out what is going on
About the phone:
Root
2.1-update1
Kernel 2.6.29
FW 2.1.a.0.435
Baseband 2.1.54
Im not using any task0killers, just watchdog lite
Plz help, I don't know what to do anymore
The fact you aren't running a custom ROM would point to a hardware/SIM card related problem... get hold of your service provider and send it back for replacement, as a test shake your phone around and see if you can replicate the problem, this would confirm a hardward issue...
The issue kinda disappeared now but im afraid it start happening again.
I tried shaking it many times and nothing happened, not even a sound of something moving inside.
Could it be just a problem with the signal?

i just bought xperia mini pro and I am unable to save the APN on my phone hence use the 2g or 3g data network. I am using Airtel and even Airtel people tried to help with different settings but none can be saved on my device either manually or automatically..
Please address this SERIOUS ISSUE with xperia mini pro and kindly give me solution.
Thanks in advance for all your help.
Try disabling the SIM PIN feature. This was the only solution that has worked for me with two brand new SE Xperia Mini phones.
It seems that SE implemented some kind of APN "phone settings vs. SIM settings check" when the phone is switched on ... with many (older) SIM cards this leads to the unfortunate result that you describe above: the APN settings are not retained when set manually :-( ... thanks SE for this helpful feature
thanks for your input. Are you from India aswell??
i have following other issues with this let me know if you have the same:
1. When its in the sleep mode (like overnight) the next morning the callers on the other end find my phone switched off!! even if its on. once i start using it than its ok. do u know a way to get round this.
2. on the data issue... trying what you told me... lets see. will update u .
thanks.!!
Get a new simcard- its old and needs to go to rest
wow... is this really sim card issue or SE issue?
WORKED!!! THANKS!!
do let me know if you have any solution for the Sleep- Switch off issue too.
About 2 weeks ago I installed on my Xperia S CM9 by FXP (v. FXP133). Yesterday my Xperia lost signal, even after many reboots there wasn't any signal (well, one time there was, but I losted it after 5 min), so I installed stock ICS (and relocked bootloader). But there is one problem: now my Xperia can't recognize sim card. IMEI is fine, baseband is OK, signal probably too (emergancy calls only). I already tried repair phone in PC Companion - didn't work. Installed CM9 again and unlocked bootloader - still no signal. In Security setting I can't set up SIM Card lock. I can't put another SIM Card, because I don't have another one on this size.
So, what can I do with it? Is there any way to repair my Xperia S without sending it to RMA? Thanks.
And sorry for my poor English, I'm from Poland
dude i have the same problem,
i used miui 2.8.10 for a couple days. The first symptom i saw was that it notified that there was not a simccard in my xperia s, but the simcard was ofcuz in my xps and out of no where it said that there was not a simcard.
i restarted the phone and same story and the second restart it asked me for my pincode which means that it read my simcard.
But today its is game over for me i tried so much restarts and i also installed the official ics no changes and i tried my own simcard in a friends phone (galaxy s3) and it worked but his simcard could not be read by my xperia s.
if there is a solution please share ^^
What are the exact message/pop up? Does it have any options like cancel or dismiss?
Sent from my Sony Xperia S
On stock ROM "Please insert SIM card and restart your phone". But when I remove SIM Card from phone, when it is on, pop up shows up with text "SIM Card removed. Restarting". After that when I insert SIM card, when phone is on, pop up shows up with text "SIM card inserted. Restarting". After that still pop up shows up with text "Please insert SIM card and restart your phone".
On CM9 nothing shows up, still no signal.
EDIT: Problem fixed. SIM card is probably damaged (on my uncle phone works), changed it to the new one :/
And here's the answer
Hey guys I can help because I grapple with the same thing everyday multiple times in a day
The temporary solution is simple.
Just click on settings. Then click on backup and resets. Then click on Settings Reset.
The phone will restart and you'll be jubilant that the issue is gone. But wait a min....its going to come back again! Just do the thing again. And don't freak out, no data will get deleted
All this said I'd love a permanent fix to this annoyance
