[Q] Unlock dutch X10 - XPERIA X10 Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I know this question has been asked numerous times however most of the times it was for the AT&T X10. I see that almost every time either Lancez or htccode.com was recomended.
I was wondering it they can also unlock the X10 locked to the dutch KPN/Hi? Also whats the difference to have your phone unlocked thru a code or thru a software and usb cable? Finally what's the cheapest option to unlock the X10?
Thank you for your help

your warranty will be void if phone is unlocked by software/cable. the software/cable method is hacking not unlocking.

Unlocked bootloader?

Hi,
What exactly does a unlocked bootloader do except load custom kernels?
Does it mean that I can SIM-Unlock my two X10 Mini-phones?
If not, is there any cheap way to unlock the X10 Mini?
Cheers!
An unlocked bootloader only "allows" you to load fully customizable kernels and roms onto the phone. Devs can also port other OS and functions if needs be (theoretically). An unlock bootloader by itself does nothing. A dev will have to then make use of the unlocked bootloader
The x10 bootloader unlock method does not unlock network. You will need to do this separately
I believe also that there's a cheap way to unlock using Setools. Do a search via google to find different sites. Hopefully someone can provide a link to one that they know and trust.

You can remove the SIM lock with setools but I think you need an "unlock box" (equipment) for that. You can also just do it with cable and software from XperiaUnlocked for the Xperia x10 Mini

SIM Unlock U20i

Hi guys. I recently bought U20i and i want to remove sim lock on it.
I am not serious unlocker or seasoned phone cracker but i used to unlock my nokia and my SE via some usb cables i think decade ago LOL. From my experience one need to know exact phone spec and according to this there should be some archives and programs which can be executed to sim unlock phone.
I already tried to use search option and i've read quite some threads without any success. I see similar threads already exist here but they all mostly end up in arguing about something other with no real and relevant resource. Some say that it can't be done freely, some say that can be done only via ordering unlocking code, some claim that they did it by flashing rom etc.etc. Very confusing. Also i am bad at english so it's pretty hard to find what i want. Hopefully you'll take my honest apology for opening same thread all over again but i really hope that this time someone will post some results.
So basically here are my question:
Can i SIM unlock this one via my own usb cable and some sort of flasher, patcher or whatever is called? If answer is no then no if yes could you provide link with tutorial?
Once when phone is sim unlokced can i put custom android on it without loosing sim unlock capability? I am asking this since i read here that some people loosed their sim unlock after they applied custom android. Could it be the case or this is just some sort of user side error..?
Is there any benefit to upgrade my phone with custom android? I have 2.1update1. If i upgrade to bigger version am i going to get something special or just different look of icons?
But mainly i am interested in sim unlock. If there is some sort of debranding involved etc. i really don't care i can accept whole new factory settings, just as long as phone will support english.
Thanks in advance for any help
i think you should be able to sim unlock your phone whit this
http://omnius-server.com/
but i'm not sure about it i've never tried it, just read about it in some post.
wait for someone with more experience before trying it
Thanks matte. I just checked site. Seems ok. If one day license will allow me to make permanent unlock then it seems worth it. I mean this:
Full and permanent unlock
Allows you to perform the permanent change of the network lock status of your phone. After further flashing or customization it will remain unchanged.

I just unlock my phone some days before but does with my band provider. In Chile you can now unlock any phone of their brand duo a new portability law just enter in their site, for example the phone I unlock was from entel, y enter to

Then just receive the nik code to unlock! Sadly this only work for Chile :c
rophiroth thanks for help. It won't work for me though. I am from Europe. Thanks anyway.
Anyone with omnius experience?
There are a few people here who have used Omnius. I don't believe it's free. I'm not aware if you can unlock this free yourself, but I am interested too so I'm subscribing to this.
As for re-locking via new ROMS, I thought that only happened in some situations when unlocking the bootloader. The bootloader unlocking threads mention that some people have had a relock but that's not the case for everyone and I believe it might be if you do something wrong.
Ok guys i sent email to Omnius. If they give me positive answer i'll do it with them and I'll report it here clearly, i mean my results. So in future everyone will know about this.
Kind regards
My phone was sim unlocked when I have been unlocking bootloader.

You simply need to wait for results. At the moment everything seems a bit tedious about U20i sim unlocking. Please be patient. I'll post my result when possible.
I unlocked an E10 with Omnius... This is what I can say:
For unlocking, it works easy and clean, includes all your drivers, you just need basic widows "driver installing" knowledge.
It's the cheapest one I found for 1 phone unlock.
In theory, Omnius unlocking is a permanent solution for SIM unlocking...
In practice: Currently you can't unlock the bootloader of an Omnius SIM-unlocked phone. So if you are interested in modding, don't use Omnius today. Use unlocking codes instead, multiunlock or setool2.
--edit:
davinci is cheaper than omnius, but also lacks bootoloader unlock also.
Sim unlock
Hi.
I'm looking to sim-unlock my X10 mini.
i have searched a number of threads and this one came closest to answering the question
This is my simlock info:
(x) Network 5
( ) Network subset 5
( ) Service provider 5
( ) Corporate 5
( ) SIM 0
From my understanding I'm not able to use a code to remove the sim lock.
Are ther any other options avaiable?
Thanks
Yes, you can...
Insert a sim from another network.
check if the unlcok menu appears after booting the phone. If it does, you need to order an unlock code from a trusty site (it takes more or less 1 week).
Cable unlock is a bit more difficult (lots of drivers to install), cheaper and instant after purchase.
Or you could purchase a sim adaptor to spoof the network.
sim unlock
i just need some information in unlocking my sony experia u20i
i got this information
[ ] network 5
[ ] network subset 5
[ ] service provider 5
[ ] corporate 5
[ ] sim 0
what can i do? please help me out, up up up

No, it does not mean you can use any sim card.
my phone is network unlock, i cant upgrade my firmware via seus or se pc companion. but you can use flashtool to flash roms
thanks you both, after searching ive finally gathered it has to be sim unlocked by
factory, network provider.
using sites like http://simlock.com/ and da vinci team does this affect the bootloader unlock? i.e. flashing different kernals? im sure i read in the bootloader post that using 3rd party unlock your bootloader is locked again?
so for instance if i sim unlock from the sites mentioned, is my boot loader relocked or will i have to unlock it again after sim unlock?
at the moment my x10i is network locked to orange but 2.3.3 root/unlocked bootloader via flashtool.
I went whit cellunlocker.net
the best, used it on 3 phone.
takes about an hour to receive a code
and it do NOT interfere whit unlocking the boot loader
free unlock code from [email protected]
I called att today and to my suprise they gave me free unlock code for my sony x10 I bought it from a buddy of mine that got two phones lasy year and didnt pay the first bill

[Q] What about simlock?

Hi friends,
Before buying this cute smartphone, I want to know if we have solutions to unsimlock the Xperia S.
Thank you all
if you have option, buy unlocked one
why?
1) phone is locked so no other network
2)unlocking phone would be very expensive since is new so £30-40 + wait to people work out how to (price in highstreet)
3)instatly lose warranty - (test point)
4) locked bootloader no fun on xda
-no fastboot
-no unlocked botlooader
-no xrecovery
-no custom rom
-no root
- long wait for update.
- i am not sure whether unlock simlock = unlocked bootloader.

Currently there is no free Sim Unlock in the DEV section. Best check next time before asking
The phone has been out around 3 weeks, might be a while before a solution can be found.
I have checked more than you can imagine that's why I have asked to know if there is a solution because I didn't find it

I won my Xperia S in a competition from Three UK.
I'm on Orange and have my contract to pay so I asked Three for an unlock code. They've had to speak to Sony because even Three don't have a code yet.
I paid £15 on 9th March and I'm still waiting for an unlock, just want to use my beautiful Xperia

Are you sure?
A network locked phone cannot be root and no unlocked bootloader?
my X10 was locked and I could root it easily and flash other official roms (different baseband).
Then I sim-unlocked it before flashing custom roms, so I don't know if I am able to do that with a locked phone though.

Just got my Xperia unlocked officially from Three UK. So it works on any network however all the Three integration is still there and after checking the bootloader status I am unable to unlock the bootloader as of now.
So although it's unlocked to any network, it's still kinda locked with regards to the bootloader and rooting.

Have you flashed an un-brand firmware? (there is a way to flash another official rom without rooting/unlocking) Maybe it would be bootloader unlock-able after that...? (i really not sure about this)
But there should be a way to root the phone without bootloader unlocked soon or later anyway (just like the others)
and i know that the X10 can be bootloader unlock even with simlock (although the method came out quite late...)
it's just a matter of time, shouldn't be the end of the world

IMEI UNLOCK Sony Xperia S
Hi,
I planing to buy a Sony Xperia S and IMEI unlock it...Maybe this is a stupid question but if I buy the Xperia S new, is it possible it comes already with blocked counter? or every Xperia S comes with 5 to 10 attempts? and if it comes with factory blocked counter, is it still possible to remove simlock? Would it be to expensive? I really need to know this in order to know if I buy the Xperia S or not. Sorry if it is a dumb question but I was an iOS user 'til now. Sorry if I post this in the wrong thread.
Thank you!!

[Q] Changing Bootloader Unlock Allowed: NO to YES, Neo V (Mt11i) Claro Argentina

Hello everyone, I'm Santiago, from Argentina. I bought an Xperia Mt11i (Neo V) smartphone last year from argentinian phone carrier Claro (ex-CTI).
It's my first android phone and as I came to learn a bit about the system, I wanted to unlock my bootloader o I could install custom roms and kernels, as I have been playing with some cutom roms, but I can only access the ones that do not require Bootloader unlocked (i.e., I can't install CyanogenMod, MIUI v5, etc).
Checking in the SERVICE hidden menu, the status in my phone says "Bootloader Unlock Allowed=NO" (so I coudn't follow the official Sony guide to unlocking the bootloader) and I contacted my phone carrier to ask them wether they could do something about it, either by free or paying methods. They replied that bootloader is a device function, not a service provided/modified by them and that I should ask directly to Sony. As there is no Sony mobile branch in Argentina, I went to the talk.sonymobile forums to post my question in hope that someone may be able to tell me wether something can be done about this. Over there someone said that they thought it could be done (something about having done it with xperia Z), that I should ask over the xda forums, so here I am.
I searched info over the forums but didn't find any threads regarding my specific problem, which is changing the "bootloader allowed" status from NO to YES with phones bought from a telephone carrier. I've found tons and tons of info on how to unlock the bootloader, but all of them are for "bootloader allowed=yes" cases, so I thought it was worth the shot asking about this.
I should also add that my phone is in fact SIM-locked at the moment, and I have no idea wether this is a limitation for what I'm trying to do or not. Reading throughout the web I encountered several places that said that SIM-Unlocking your phone via NCK code (which I could obtain from my phone carrier) does not, indeed, unlock your bootloader, but I was wondering if it might, at least, change the status to "Unlock Allowed=YES" (this, I read, is sometimes the case).
I am eager to find a solution to this situation, so any help will be much appreciated.
Thanks in advance!
Santiago.

Well that's too bad, I was really hoping I would be able to somehow.
After calling Customer Service a lot, I'm now waiting for a direct reply from my phone carrier about the subject. Over at the sony forums they told me that Sony couldn't unlock it because of legal issues with the phone carrier, as the phone carrier is usually the one that demands to have a locked bootloader. I'm still hoping, however, that there'll be some sort of workaround and that either Sony or my phone carrier will give me some sort of solution. It's been done before, apparently, with Movistar in Spain. Apparently Sony was able to unlock the bootloader for those that bought an Xperia 2011 phone with Movistar Spain that had "Bootloader Unlock Allowed : NO". I can't post a link that thread yet, as I'm still new here at xda, but I'm quoting what it says over there: "In a nutshell "The Solution Sony proposses is, for those of you with a code-unlocked terminal, to contact Sony at [email protected], with your email, imei and unlocking code".
I know it's a particular case with Movistar Spain, but I'm still trying to get some info on wether something similar can be accomplished between my phone carrier and Sony.
Thanks for your reply, and I'm still hoping someone over here can tell me something about all of this.
It's your phone carrier mate, they locked up the phone. Call them everyday until they remove the sim-lock on your phone..

Well that seems to be the case, even though they are playing dumb and saying they are not the reason for locking the bootloader and that I should contact Sony and have them solve the problem for me....
I think I'm about to go into war with these guys. I kinda get why they lock the bootloader, what I won't forgive is being lied to like this. It's outrageous.
I'll check this post periodically though, maybe there's one of those miraculous solutions that I can try in the meantime.
Thanks for replying anyways.
Sadly even if your bootloader is unlocked you won't get to install the custom kernels
As your fastboot would still be SIM locked
And that can't be undone by Sony ofcourse
--You've to unlock fastboot
--Unlocking bootloader is no big deal -you'll have to pay few bucks and use wotanserver or s2 tool
There's a guide on using Testpoint (unofficial) unlocking in Neo V development section
Hope this clears out your issues more clearly
