Not only is your username the same as my last name, but I too am wondering this.
Where are the firmware update settings in Villain 5.2?
If you're on a custom rom, OTA is disabled.

It wasn't you that outbid me for a tweedie car reg plate sometime last year at the dvla auction?
Not me, but I think we should hunt down whoever it was and reclaim it.

So will all us Custom 2.1 people have to reflash the original RUU before we can get the OTA update?

if you want to unroot your phone forever then do it. you can as well install the 2.1 RUU once it is out. it will happily stay on your hero until the display turns off for the last time...
now you just have to ask yourself why you would want to do such a terrible thing...
Haha, that's true. I plan on waiting until there's a custom 2.1 based on the official one which will allow root access, but I have a friend who will only use official firmwares for some reason.
Maybe I should steal his phone and root it without him knowing!

No sir, this isn't possible. You will need HSPL for this, and HSPL isn't compatible with stock ROM 3.14
... and whats about the flash card method I like the link below?
[TUT] Flash your ROM / Radio via microSD
Thanks, Ralf

just by installing a previous version. For example the EU/Asian stock rom's have seen different versions.
1.43.xxx.x then 1.66.xxx.x then 1.72.xxx.x and now 3.14.xxx.x

If the ROM that you have on your desktop is the official on, than yes.
Just set your device into bootloader, and connect your device to your PC, and ons it is connect, run the RUU_LEO...... (right click run as administrator)

Jep, I agree with ingbrzy. Try the latest firmware 2.3.4. It´s working fine to me. I had some problems with 2.3.3 but now they gone, if I flashed to 2.3.4!

Ok thanks that sounds very nice.
I only hope there is swedish in that version.
Then I will try it.

You'll need to track down the fastboot files for your region (should be somewhere on the forum) then use RSDLite to flash back to stock then flash cm9. So it only goes into APFB? won't boot normally?
Sorry, I'm not very familiar with any of the regions besides EU and US.
EDIT: Found the files
http://www.mod2xtreme.com/showthrea...ia-Retail-amp-ME-Retail-ICS-Firmware-download
This has the AsiaRetail fastboot files. I ahven't checked them as I'm on an XT912 and I don't feel like bricking my phone, but these should be what you're looking for!

You probably wont be able to flash EU, region issues can brick your phone. I added the link to the asia retail ICS in the post above.
