Yes, When I made my pre order at the shack on the 17th they asked me if i wanted to pre order the kickstand case or screen protectors that would be available launch day.

It is 29.95 but I wish it covered more of the camera. Plus its a hard shell case. Wish it was like the otterbox commuter with a soft silicone/tpu core and a hard poly shell. for that price it should be better.

Love that! This is "kind of" like the snap on case that I have had on my Evo 4G since day one. Can't see the front of it but I call the snap on case a "Bikini" case because it covers "just enough" to keep the phone safe and secure. My Evo looks as good as it did on day one (with the exception of the crack in the bezel near the unsupported power button) and it's not bulky at all.
Thanks for sharing the pic! I'll definitely have one of these on day one.
*I hope the hinge construction holds up..... I think the only thing I will miss is the kickstand but owell.
Off topic but I got an email from Sprint this morning and they changed the front facing camera to a diamond shape. Looks kind cool I guess. Just saying (;

That's a big a$$kick stand! I just hope none of these "HTC" letters fall off so easily like on the EVOs. I've lost track of how many times I've had to go back to Sprint and ask them to give me a new battery cover since my letters fell off.

hmmm, thats weird, mine never fell off. I had everything else go wrong from cracks in bezel to white screen splotches, the touchscreen grounding issue, I did dodge the screen separation and bad USB port though.
My chrome letters just fell off ;(

Me, my girlfriend, and my dad have all gone back to Sprint at least twice to get new battery covers because all three letters fell off. And now I got to go back for a third time for another one before I sell my EVO :/ thank god they give them to us for free

Never had to replace any letters because my Evo lived in a Case Mate barely there, LOVE THAT CASE. This HTC case looks to be built just like it only with the kickstand so this will be perfect.
AS for if they are going to be available, I was told at the Shack that they would have cases the following week, I'm checking with a family member to see if Sprint stores will actually have them or not on Friday. I hope so....
The best feature about the og evo kickstand is the 'snappyness'. I can snap the thing open and closed in a nervous fidget like clicking a pen...totally annoying all around.
But does the kickstand in this case have a snap spring closing? It looks like it will be more flimsy with a small latch to hold it or something.

Lol i do the same.thing when I'm.using my phone..it drives my wife crazy ..click click ..but it is pretty sturdy and i definitely use it a lot..its a must have for a phone this size..def not a gimmick like some said in the past
It makes perfect sense to have the charging port up when on the kickstand. But some apps will not work this way I think. It'll be upside down. Take netflix app for example. It only plays the other way around. Tried it with my evo 4g.
What is HTC gonna do about this I wonder?

I saw the otterbox defender for the Evo 3D listed today on ebay, and Amazon. Of course I ordered one immediately. I went with ebay for the free shipping.

Well the otterbox has arrived! here are some pics of the one I received.Make sure and check out the hands on review I uploaded in HD! The case is not that bulky at all. It seems slimmer than the one for the Evo 4G. To bad I dont have that one anymore to compare it to.
The case has a cool tab that will lock the belt clip open to turn it into a kickstand when you dock the phone with the screen facing out. [see pics]
Only the camera lenses have plastic covering them (and the screen itself of course), the speaker and LED flash holes are open. The LED hole does have a foam gasket that will form a tight seal to the phone. This I hope will reduce light bleed while using the flash which would wash out the photo.

The otterbox website has not added the evo 3d line yet. I would think they will be available at launch on the 24th.
Hopefully its not like the evo was with them. It took them forever to.get cases out for the evo when it came out.

That's strange because I emailed them a few days ago and they responded back that they had no information on whether a case would be made for that phone. At least I won't have to wait as long as I did with the original EVO. Hopefully the Commuter isn't far behind.

I ordered one and its on the way to me now. Ill report back as to if these are legit or not. I have some doubt but, what the hell at least give it a try.

I know it's fake now....this is their support # (888)695-8820 and when calling they said they don't know if they are going to make a case for the evo 3d yet.
also here is the response from the email i sent

yeah i ordered one too. The seller has tons of positive feedback, thats the only reason I purchased. I already have tracking. Its coming from indiana.
ps, it looks like the inventory he had is gone, and or otterbox ordered a cease and desist. anyway as long as it fits the evo 3d ill rock my fodderbox.
Okay now im leaning twards fake, The top picture I linked from the sellers page appears to be the otterbox defender for the HTC inspire. I noticed the time and date were the same.
crossing fingers it fits the phone. If not its going back. seller says they take returns as long as the packaging is there. Its easy to file a "item not as described" or "counterfit item" claim on ebay.

Glad they took him down........ well hope it works for you guys though I know those fake chinese knockoff otterbox defender cases are worth around $6-10 from what i've seen and will probably break easily.

Lol that was pretty obvious since the 3d doesn't look like that, easiest way to tell is the 4 buttons. Htc changed them on the 3d. Also it's proven that it's fake if you look at the picture I posted at the top of this page.
I would never thrust anything like that, especially when its not even on the official otterbox site yet. Also it says if fits all those other phones. Yea right.

Im not debating its a knock off. BUT What I am wondering is will it actually fit the evo 3d. Ill just look at it when it gets here (monday?) and make my decition. Since it looks like I have 7 days to return it and the evo 3d may not be out yet , when the case gets here ill post some pics here Ill them make my decision on keeping it or not. most likely its going straight back.
anyway.. Ill update when it get here.

Oh....That i don't know, from the picture that's posted it seems like it would fit
Ok, I bought one. We'll see if it even shows up. I'm still on the fence for if it is real or not. The picture of the backside is interesting. If you look on the left side closely, there is a little bit of text. It's "2D 3D" etched into the case. So, if this is a fake, there is quite a bit of detail in it.
Which kickstand case do you prefer with your 3VO and why?
Seems like the official HTC case wont be able available for another week or two while the Seidio is already available at Best Buy. Seidio has the charging port on the bottom
i'm getting the official HTC one because the charging port will be on top.

It depends on which way the kickstand flips out, in which case, HTC's flips in the direction where the phone's usb port is pointed up, allowing for charging while using the case.
I want the HTC case more than any other case. I want a case that still allows the phone to be slim as I carry it in my pocket.

The Seidio kickstand (Best Buy) is PLASTIC!!! No way I'm getting that, I'll wait for the official HTC.
BTW - the phone is so awesome as is that root isnt necessary unless HTC fails to get us ICS in a timely matter. Well only necessary for screen shot apps and ad blocking LOL
I'm surprised no one has mentioned this, but there are a lot of apps that only work in landscape mode where the charging port would have to be down anyways. One of the big ones being Netflix. I like the design of the HTC one better, but the kickstand flips the wrong way to be suitable for all apps and that's really disappointing to me. Why didn't they just put the port on the bottom like before?

Unlike the stock hero, 3vo rotates the other way in most apps I tried. I think netflix would too.

I have version 1.2.2 (latest version) and it DOES NOT rotate on my EVO 3D.
Hey guys, just thought Id share some pictures and a review of the body glove case for the 3d (search turned up nothing). Its nothing special, but you cant try it out at the store without buying it so hopefully it'll help some people out who are on the fence.
The case is very minimalistic, but i like the low profile design. Very sturdy, fits the phone...well like a glove. I think red and black is the only option. The camera is also well protected by a plastic bezel on the case which sits about 2mm off the surface of the camera lens. Overall, good case. Dropped it once already and it held up well. This case does not fit into the sprint car dock. In fact, i cant see any case fitting in that thing (what were they thinking there?). The edges around all the buttons and ports are chamfered, and are very easy to reach.

Ditto. I took one glance in the store and discarded the possibility. But i am a big fan of the poly cases, this is the one from my old EVO. I think I'll wait for those to be available. They fit really tight and they last forever.

Just wanted to follow up this thread after a day of use. The bezel around the cameras fell off today, which really pisses me off. For $30 they cant even throw in an extra cent of glue. Its just press-fitted in (hardly).
I've pretty much sworn off all body glove products
although it looks good, but after using a body glove case on my Evo 4g at launch last year, I found that the case actually scratched up the framing of my phone in a month.
possibly the worst case I've ever had for a phone.
This one does have felt inside, maybe they learned. I'm still not a big fan of it, though. The red has some clear film that's already starting to rub off, this may be the last body glove product I buy as well. Besides their wetsuits...

For thin cases the best in my opinion are made by Incipio. The Feather and Edge models both for the EVO 4G were fantastic. Felt on the inside, and hard rubbery/plastic outside, it felt so good, plus were super thin and barely added any bolk to the phone whatsoever.

i picked this up the other day (i'm a case whore...hard to find one i truly like, so far)
I love the overall design of it, everything about how it is, is just about perfect....BUT the biggest flaw is it's a body glove case and the quality sucks, the red scratches off, that bezel on back looks great but flawed in execution...it looks great but the build quality is not there. what a shame.
on my 4G i went through a lot of cases...but the one that lasted the longest was the best buy branded siedo surface...my favorite was the incipio, but it cracked when i dropped it..phone was fine, the case did its job...
I also have the best buy platinum case for the 3vo, its a super tight fit getting it on and off, but it still feels loose...kinda odd.
so my search for the perfect case continues...not an otterbox fan, those official HTC cases shown not too long ago should be available in july...so maybe one of those will satisfy my case cravings. lol.
would love to go caseless but i don't trust my kids...or myself.

I have the black and silver body glove. I'm a little paranoid because I used a hard plastic body glove on my OG evo and it scratched it all up... We'll see how it goes. The quality is definitely extremely poor...scratched the silver up in less than 2 days.

I have one too. It is really a sweet case. Only flaw is the black bottom doesn't stay connected well to the other part of the red. Actually I put a little piece of double sided tape on black case to hold it in place. Works perfect now
I bought one with my 3vo on launch day. Its quite the sexy case. Its snug, I have no loose problems. However like mentioned the clear is scrapping off in a corner. Planning to get it exchanged.Tuesday.

Cant wait to see a review on this. I had one for my EVO 4G and liked almost everything about it, but ended up returning it because the lip didnt come over far to protect the screen. Id like to be able to lay it face down, and not have to worry about the glass touch anything. Im hoping this one will allow that.

Please do post pics and a quick little review once you receive it. I loved the fleaBay barely there case I kept on my Evo. I actually didn't even realize the "real" name of product as I stumbled onto the case on fleaBay and never needed another. I found the real product right before I sold my Evo right before I got my 3D.

ETA: I am currently using a TPU from TPU Cases and it is really nice. I'm just used to having some options and the thin snap on is one I really like having. The argyle TPU is a real crowd pleaser.

I bought this one and its just like the case-mate barely there case. It does have a lip that will protect the screen if you place it face down and its really slim. The cut-outs are all perfectly aligned. Its plastic with soft rubberized coat.

This is exactly, I mean exactly what I was looking for. It's just like the best case I ever saw, my Wifes Nexus-S case by MyIncipio, thier ultra slim "Feather" model, but it covers the top of the screen ever so slightly, where as the case for the ogEVO stopped right before top of the screen, which was dumb.
The feel and grip of the case is spot on perfect. Not too slick, not too sticky, but just right.
I hate bulky cases with a passion, don't want my phone looking like a thick bar of soap. Plus I has an OtterBox case on ogEVO and phone still cracked screen from a small drop. So no case can 100% protect you.
I am very satisfied with my purchase here. To me the perfect case.

This case looks exactly like one I got off amazon for like 8 bucks. The one I got is kind of a frosted look. I love how minimal it is while still having I think the best design for the camera-when its a big opening its not well protected especially from fingerprints. I just wish I could get a holster for it. The other thing the cutouts for the cameras are perfect and I tried an otterbox and they didn't line up near as good.

I've had the Active cases on my Epic and Evo... I figured I'd stay with the same case. Might rebuy once Seidio ones come out.

Oooohhh, do like. So far this is the only Evo 3D case I actually like. I'll look it up. I'll probably buy one next time I get paid.

They have about 15 of them at the BB near me. Most of them are black, but they have some purple hard-plastic ones too.

Mine has blue surface cases $29.99 and black surface cases with holster $34.99...
The Cruiser was black only, no holster $34.99...
The Heavy Duty one was black with holster. $49.99
I can't quite tell from the photos. Are the buttons covered completely? They have them in stock at both BBY's near me, and I might pick one up. Thanks
The only openings on the case are the screen/face, 2D/3D toggle switch, earphone jack and little mic opening.

i got the "rugged" version of this at best buy but returned it.. the fabric on the holster was messed up..
also, the case felt cheap.. i had the same case i got from them for the Evo and that one was good, loved it...
i have been a sedio fan for a while.. easy case to take off and put on.. i like to have the phone naked when i am phone. the otter box defender i got now sucks to take off!!! like the case but its a pain to take off.. not to mention the holster does fit the belt i use since its a wide riggers belt.
but i will be getting the sedio once its out and hope casualty is better than the best buy version.

I think these are nice cases, i even had one one my old evo but, if you drop it and it lands on the corner, those little claws will break. Unless they changed the plastic its made out of, that is the weak point of the case. I ended up with a ballistic on my last evo and that thing is a tank. I have the otterbox defender on my phone now. I always pic the most rugged case becase it keeps my phone in pristine condition which allows me to sell it and upgrade to the next phone for free.
yup , just as ugly (and probably as fragile) as the ones on the original evo....

but yeah, since i use the phone more when i am home, i like to take the case off to help with heat.
Yup the corners do break easily.
I had the same issue with my evo.
I had 2 cases break on me - and my wife's broke on her too
All 3 were the tabs as mentioned above

Maybe some people can't handle the case. Contact Seidio, they are pretty good about it.
Maybe they don't create a quality product.
I've had a Surface and a couple Actives on my Evo. Had a Active on my Epic and never had a single issue. Maybe I baby my phones. I dunno. They've been more than great for me.

When did you buy your first active limited? How long did you use it? Maybe they fixed their quality issues...?
I know it wasn't only me having issues with the tabs - at the time I got on XDA/Amazon and everybody seemed to be experiencing the same thing. I started the return process and let them know that the tabs were an issue and I am sure others did as well.
I really hope they did fix this problem, because I loved the case other than that or I would have never bought a second one (I was hoping it was a fluke)
In the end I just went back to my official HTC case. I didn't like it near as much but I never had issues with it either.
