I have seen many threads for the reboot issue for the SGS2, but have not seen any where it only happens with the stock music player. Noticed at the gym while listening to music on the stock app. I prefer the stock app due to the EQ functions to get much better sound. It seems to occasionally perform a quick soft reboot when it runs though. This is the ONLY time it has ever done a soft reboot, so I have just switched to the Google Music app, but don't enjoy the sound quality near as much.
If anyone else has noticed this, is there a possible fix for this or is it something Samsung needs to hammer out in an update?
I have the same problem with the samsung music player. I would like to know a solution, too.
I get this problem too.
I have it too, almost everytime I use the Samsung music player.
Sometimes I think I must have the *only* S2 built properly
No reboot whatsoever using the stock music player, music is on external sd.

Fat 32, done on the computer rather than the phone if that makes any difference.

Yeah I get this problem too. It is some kind of soft-reboot -- i.e. it doesn't go right back to the bootloader. And occasionally I get even softer reboots that seem to just restart the UI layer (you don't even get the boot animation). Kind of annoying, but fairly rare for me.
I guess maybe it is overheating? But battery temp is 34 degrees which seems ok.

I have read the blog on se-nse.net.I cant understand the language on the pic..
And anything new apart from this ?
As far as I can tell, no.
But as more info "leaks" Im sure you will find it on that blog
Before the equaliser I think the media player needs a way to set no-loop/loop 1/loop all as any other media player in the world!
Gapless playback would be nice too.

Im sure that is a memory card issue, rather than an android one.
Memory cards being used for music in SE phones have always had a small "silence" whilst loading between tracks (dating back to the W810, maybe even earlier)

The problem is not with the memory cards! They are just storage. It is up to the media player software to buffer properly so that the next file can be read before the previous song is over.
Besides,
- SE phones use microSD cards as most phones do nowadays
- I use Meridian media player on the MiniPro and gapless playback works fine.
When watching a film on my Galaxy S3 - using a file I copied from my desktop - the default Samsung video player displays the chapter number at the bottom of the screen like: Chapter 1
This isn't burned onto the video itself - watching the same video on my desktop show no such chapter display.
Is there a way of turning this off? There isn't an obvious option in the app itself.
Bump - no one else have this issue? I noticed a similar problem in the note 2 forum.

This has got to be bugging someone else as well! Is there some sort of config file I can tweak?

Dude quit bumping...
This question has already been posted....
There's a setting in the video player itself if I remember correctly.
I searched for this before posting and couldn't find anything. I also sent ages searching through the options and also couldn't find anything.

Was bugging me too, and just figured out how to turn it off. Whilst playing the video in Video Player click the left soft button, go to Settings and the turn "Closed caption" off.

It works pretty well with music but when it comes to play movies or games there's an annoying audio delay .
Any solutions to fix this ?
Thanks
There is no solution. Every bluetooth accessory has a delay

i thought it might have been just some bad encoded files when i noticed this issue but looking back at other files i never had problems with i didn't have this issue until after i did the update. wish i knew the exact delay then i could adjust for it on all my files with bs player you can adjust audio offset.
It's an android issue. The delay is anywhere between 0.5 and 1 second. Custom roms like cm have corrected it I believe.

Thanks, I've done some research and yes it seems to be normal .
I was pretty disappointed since i bought this for playing movies and games , i wasn't aware of this issue :/
I can adjust the audio offset with my main player Diceplayer but it's just not convenient because that delay seems to varie, even on a same movie .
I tried a few video players and i couldn't believe, i have no issue with MX player, i can even skip forward or back, no lag, synced like it's wired lol
Dunno why it works, tried with mp4. avi, 1080 mkv so i'll just use Mx player when using my bluetooth speaker
Streaming over lan makes the videos lag a lot though..
Netflix , games are out of sync except a few ones

Oh wow anyone can confirm ? i was on custom rom few days ago but i did not have my bluetooth speaker at that moment, will get back to CM if it works
Unrooted, & unfortunately still bloated; the sound is so low even when turned up full that I can hardly hear the caller & have to frequently ask them to repeat themselves as if I were deaf. I don't even try music or books. PLEASE GIVE A GIRL SOME HELP!
Could be the area you're in, weak connection, on most calls I have the opposite happening. If you have NAB and have Wi-Fi try Wi-Fi calling and see if it clears it up...If it persists after that could be a hardware issue and you should take it in to Sprint.

i did try wifi calling for awhile, but that didn't seem to help and was only available whenever i was near a friendly wifi. i tried a booster from the playstore but that was totally ineffective. i guess from lack of response, i should assume the only recourse is to root this device. i just haven't had the time to study the information on how to and which roms, etc were available that appeal to me. i've had Galaxy S3 & 4 for so long the Note was a real switchover.
But thanks for your help.
Not sure which build you're on but you could try flashing one of the stock files and see if that does the trick.

No you can not, you need a custom recovery.
I have a mod, if you decide to root.
Volume boost:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2761053
You don't need a custom rom, just need root and my mod.
I would recommend fre3 rom though. It's very solid and my mod works perfectly with it.
Hi everyone,
I've noticed something annoying : Media control doesn't work at all on lockscreen with Chromecast. Include apps like YouTube, Netflix, Disney+ ...
Somehow, volume control works fine with the physical buttons, but I can't pause/play/previous/next.
Media control works fine if not casting, for example when playing Spotify on my phone, control on lockscreen is fine.

Saw several people complaining about this on Samsung community, but didn't find any solutions... Seems it appeared since OneUI 3.0
Does anyone have the same concern ? Did you resolve it ?
I don't know about chromecast since I don't use it, but I get the same issue when I play music through "OK, Google".
Everytime I use "ok, Google, play (song, music, playlist) on Spotify", the lockscreen controls don't work to play, pause, skip and go back. I thought it was something to do with Spotify, but they could not help me with it.
So I guess it must be something on samsung or Google.
Saw several users with this problem, and I think it might have the same cause as yours, but haven't seen a fix for it yet.
Yeah, got exactly the same issue and there are even some posts about it on Samsung forums and reddit. Tried to get help via the Samsung members app but they say they can't see any issues on my system logs and the screen capture. I start to hate Samsung for their really bad support.
Same issue here, Samsung tab A (sm-t510)
Ever since the android 11/ oneui3 upgrade.
Very fustrating. Only fix is to turn on the media "music" controls on the lock screen, tap the clock, get the controls. Also very occasionally tapping pause/forward etc works, even grayed out...
