Here is my latest boot animation, a dancing android.
This is the version for the NOOK, so width is 600pixels and H 338.
Hope you like it, if so use thank button or donation (lol)
Zip is here
Look for the NOOK one
Thanks

Hi, The animation looks great on youtube.
I have no idea how to use the zip file (I downloaded the nook version of animation).
Can you enlighten me? (on how to install the boot animation)
Thanks.
I dont have a nook, but on phones Zip file needs to be pushed to system/media or data/local, according to the rom. I guess it's the same for nook, if you have root.
You should hit nook thread of the rom you are rocking and ask there.

I found a how-to on changing the boot animation, which worked under Phiremod 6.3, but for some reason didn't work in CM7, unless I did something wrong. Which is WAY possible.

I guess for cm7 boot goes to system/media. Use a file browser to search for bootanimation.zip and replace it.

This is fantastic! I just put it on my NC and I love it! I might reboot just so i can see it. Thanks for sharing.
A handy command for testing (which should be done in ADB SHELL ONLY) is "start bootanim" and "stop bootanim". The reason I say adb shell only, is that you can't really stop the animation if you start it from within a terminal app on the nook.

Thanks, I may make it more generic later, but here's what I have so far of the CM7 one: http://defectiveimages.com/cyanoboot.zip
Just rename to bootanimation.zip and push to /data/local/
Thanks Especially if it may change later, like me some options.
Anyone have the stock one, from before AutoNooter?
Just remove the boot animation zip file and it will display the original one.

Kit, have you posted the CM7 one on the CyanogenMod forums? Who knows, maybe they'd use it. It's really nice, the only thing I don't care for is the text you used for the "POWERED BY"... but that's just personal preference.
Out of curiosity, what software do you use to create those?
How come when I use the "start bootanim" command the animation is so laggy?

I changed the powered by on it.
But I also made one with an eclair logo instead of Cyanogen one:
Here it is, just rename to bootanimation.zip and put it in /data/local/.
I create these in AfterEffects, by the way.
Im pretty new to bootanimations, is there a way that I could enable this without using adb to push. Ive had so many problems installing adb that I just gave up.

if you're using rootexplorer, or similar app, you could go into /data/local and delete the bootanimation.zip, then paste the bootanimation.zip you want to use there, and reboot, it should work just the same
just make sure you rename the animation zip you want to use to bootanimation.zip
Hi All.
I have had some free time so i thought i would try something i have never done. While browsing a while ago i saw some bios boot animations, so i thought i would kick off with one i made for are vegas. If i get the time i will make some more. They are easy to make, just a bit time consuming making all the .pngs for the animation (there are around 75) Feel free to edit my animations, all i ask is that you post them in this thread if you want to share them. If you plan to add it to a rom please only edit the rom info and leave my details in. "Boot By Original_Ganjaman" and credit my work.
Edit: Added New vega Boot Animation
Installation:
1 - Download the Boot Animation, rename it to bootanimation.zip and copy it to your SD card.
2 - Copy the bootanimation.zip to Data/local on your device (i use root explorer)
3 - Restart your Device and enjoy the new boot animation
To revert to normal boot screen just delete bootanimation.zip from Data/local.
If you like this thread please click the "Thanks Button"

No problem using this in your rom. Just as i said in my first post, if you have edited any .pngs please only post in this thread. Using a unmodified one is fine. (changing FPS etc is fine) I just dont want modified versions of my work being posted else where. What is the small change you have made?

As discussed, I changed my modification, it shows now the original author of the animation.
On the published ROM I use the first 2 of the attached examples.
On my own tablet I show instead the owner information, as shown in the last 2 attached examples.
Thats fine. I have updated my first post to cater for people who want to add it to a rom.

Hey there,
I really like the newest Gingeritis ROM , for me it has been relatively stable with just a few spontaneous reboots and an occasional FC.
I am trying to change the boot animation from the one that comes with the ROM. I found the ability to do this in the Spare Parts app, but no matter which I choose, none actually changes from that original "computer boot" looking opening screen. Can anyone help me?
Thanks!

Not sure what file Spare Parts is changing, but I found that I needed to change /system/customize/resource/VZW_bootanimation.zip in order to change my boot animation on Gingeritis VIII. I was getting a little mad too, until I realized the boot animation file was the original Verizon name/location.
I thought it might be something like this. Can you describe the procedure exactly? Thanks!

First, I'll start with something maybe a little harsh, but I feel it's true. If you don't know what you're doing already, chances are you should not do it.
Download the boot animation you want, put it on your SD card. Open root explorer (or other file explorer that can mount directories r/w), find the boot animation file you just put on your SD card and copy it. Navigate to /system/customize/resource and rename VZW_bootanimation.zip to something else and paste the file you have copied. Rename the file you just copied to VZW_bootanimation.zip.
I appreciate the response and the explanation. Thanks.
I've just updated to the new Gingertis and was able to get my favorite boot screen back. However, I cannot seem to get the thunder sound. Where is the proper place to put the thunder.mp3? THANKS!

[CyanoWhite] Touchpad Moboot Theme + Splashscreen + Bootanimation with sound + Wallpaper
Hey I'm New to these Forums.
I'm Ted and i want to share my latest work with this epic community .
The "Package" is called CyanoWhite because of the colors (Cyan and White)
So let's get started :
Installation Guide:
All the Downloadable Files are here : https://www.dropbox.com/sh/ei2st8s82ltfwu2/oz8YSXEUqJ
Moboot Theme:
Simply flash the "moboot.theme.zip"
CyanogeMod SplashScreen:
Open the Terminal Emulator and type:
su
mount -o remount,rw /boot
Or Get Root Explorer from market and Click the "Mount R/W" Button on top in the /boot folder
Then Copy/Paste "moboot.splash.CyanogenMod.tga" in /boot
Bootanimation :
Rename the "bootanimation1.zip" to "bootanimation.zip" Then copy paste it to /system/media/
If this doesn't work then Rename it and Paste the zip in /data/local
Now if you want Sound in the bootanimation:
Download "soundatboot.zip" and Flash it via Recovery
Download "bootsnd.sh" and place it in /sdcard
Then open terminal emulator and type
su
cd /sdcard (space after cd)
sh bootsnd.sh
reboot
Finally rename "bootsound.mp3" to "android_audio.mp3" and copy it to /system/media
As For the wallpaper its a simple one use it for whatever you want!

Moboot broken?
toSo I just tried this on my TouchPad, but I no no longer have the ability to boot to anything but CM9. The Moboot screen comes up briefly, but the menu is blank (no WebOS, CM9, CWM, WebOS recovery), and the TP boots directly to CM9. Is there a way to fix this? I would like the ability to choose via Moboot what to boot into. Not sure if I'm making sense, but I'm hoping I didn't bork my TP.

Hi Ted,
Thanks for sharing this, looks really good. I was wondering if you could make a couple of small adjustments on the CM splash and moboot theme? I would like to use all 3 of your packages but the CM splash and moboot theme files are quite large for the boot folder.
As you may know, the boot folder has a max limitation of approx 30mb, which is very small. The two files I mentioned above total approx 4.5mb, which puts the boot folder at or very near its limit. Even with my boot folder "cleaned out", your files put me over 29mb. This will present issues if/when the CM9 updates get larger and deposit a larger image in the boot folder. It also creates an issue if you've replaced CWM with TWRP, as TWRP is a larger image. I've actually had it happen already with various moboot mods. Generally, it results in bootloops or random reboots of the TP.
So, with all that said, would you be able to reduce the filesize of CM splash and moboot theme, as I'd really like to use all three of your creations. Thanks again.
EDIT: NVM, did it myself with Best Free Image Converter. Thanks.
Mike T
Do we need to update moboot to do this?
A easier way to install Cyanowhite
Hye all,
I have made a little script to install Cyanowhite moboot and boot animation on one step.
Download the Cyanowhite.zip archive and flash it.
You need to follow the original instructions to install sound. I don't want to put the sound in my script.
If you need to reinstall the original moboot and boot animation use the Boot-original.zip archive.
If you have an error during the flash try again.
Thanks for the theme.
I know that it's possible to change the default boot but I would like to change labels in moboot.
Somebody know how to do it?

Go into /boot & find the uImage files; for example, xxxx.uImage (xxxx being the variable) and change "xxxx" to whatever you'd like it to read.
Hello fellow Rezounders
Not being satisfied with current boot animation offerings, I fired up Adobe Flash and got to making a new, simple boot animation. It isn't labeled "CyanogenMod" or "Super Ultra Special Hax ROM 8.3". Just the one thing we all use in common: HTC Rezound.

v2 Black
Instructions
First, you'll want to choose which version you want. v1 is larger, but stutters a little (like most boot animations) on the first loop through due to its size. v2 is a lot smaller so it doesn't stutter.
AOSP ROMs (CyanogenMod, AOKP):
1. download file
2. put it on your SD Card
3. copy it to /data/local/ using ES File Explorer or another file manager.
Sense 3.6 ROMs:
1. download Vigor_VZW_bootanimation.zip

Vigor_VZW_bootanimation was in /system/customize/resource/ right? I don't use a Sense ROM so it's kinda hard for me to troubleshoot this issue.
EDIT: I looked into it a little more (read: googled it) and came across this post. I've made the corrections to the zip, please try Vigor_VZW_bootanimation.zip which I just attached to my first post. Also, rename/remove "HTC_bootanimation.zip" from the /system/customize/resource/ directory

I didn't even ask you to look into it and you did! You're awesome.
I appreciate the effort, but it still didn't work. I haven't had any luck with any boot animation I've tried on this phone. Either I'm doing something wrong, or my phone doesn't like cooperating.

Are you on Business Sense with Sense 4.0 or 3.6? I didn't realize there were two different versions. I have no idea how to change the boot animation on Sense 4.0. I can't find any relevant information at all.
If anyone wandering by this thread knows how, feel free to drop a note.
Re: ROM-agnostic Boot Animation (now with Black!)
I'm on 3.6.
Downloaded the new files. Followed your exact instructions, still doesn't work. I think it's just something wrong with the phone or the ROM. This is a fresh flash, too.
Could it be because I don't have an SDcard? My phone doesn't read SDcards anymore, so I'm using only the internal storage.
