Anybody else think its weird that we're ten days out and still dont have a big name review? That and advertising has been nothing compared to the original for whatever reason.

No . I'd like to see some reviews from engadget, bgr, pocketnow, etc. Wirefly mostly just wants you to buy the phone. The other sites are less likely to be biased.

A lot of places do reviews days after the phone comes out. Wirefly's review was great, and not really that biased. And there phone was wifi only. Its rare that reviews on items come out days or weeks before the product, hell even game reviews come out only a day or two before the release. If you're worried about the phone sucking, don't get it.
the original evo had lots of reviews because they were given away about a month before release. im sure not many people have the 3d yet

True, but there is usually more than just a Wirefly review. I think most of us can agree on that. With the massive influx of smart phones lately, I think it has became more common that reviews have run short of their release date.

Some manufacturers usually have a media blackout period as well, where they can't post reviews until a certain date. Wirely is a shop that sell lots of Evo stuff so theirs could be considered more promotional material for the shop.

What's up XDA community? I just joined the forums today and thought I would get your opinions on my review of the HTC EVO 3D. I am the CEO/Owner of TheGamerAccess.com and published this review a few days before the release thanks to a review unit from the Sprint team. The link to the review is below. Nicely done. Your review fairly well parallels my experience with the device over the past several weeks. I see so many people complain about this or that, but I must be lucky to get one without defects (that I've noticed so far). This phone is definitely an upgrade from the EVO Shift (though I do miss the hardware keyboard).

Hey wildcat. That is correct. The issue did not impact everyone and while I have no way of proving it to you now, I was able to watch Green Hornet before its release without any problems.
Great review you did. One thing worth a mention is that some of the bloatware is (sort of) uninstable. It still stays on your phone but it takes it out of your app drawer and, I believe, it won't autostart anymore. I'm pretty sure most or all new Sprint phones will be the same here on out.
How about you tell your Sprint Comrads S-Off

I would just leave the review the way it is, no need in promoting rumors, no one has s -off so no need in promoting something that no one has.
I agree, decent review. Only thing I disagree on is the camera button. I could have been well implemented, but ends up being a waste of space. maybe they will update the software in the future to improve on the focus response time when using the camera button.

I read the Verge one yesterday morning. I thought it was a good opinion well written. The author's only big downside was the SGN's closely timed release.
I hate to say it, but as much as I like customizing my phone, I think the Moto skin boring. I have vanilla Android on my Nook Color and it's just too plain.
The crapware! Seriously how do VZW employees push VZ Navigator and still feel good about themselves? Now they have Vz Videos too? At least I don't see the VZ App store carry over from the DInc.

I think it will be a solid phone. Promised myself after the captivate to NEVER buy a phone without reviews or waiting a week or so. I broke that with the skyrocket because I was in San Antonio on launch day and it was $150 there versus $250 in Dallas. Since I am buying off contract I must be patient...I keep telling myself. Guys I just read from a reliable website (cbsmarketwatch.com) that sprint was only releasing the EVO LTE to certain markets. Most likely markets where LTE will be deployed first. The article was then pulled quickly.
I have no reason to lie, I saw the article.

Lack of phones?
Yeah it's safe to assume that they read into it and took out of it what they wanted. Yes Sprint announced early opening for stores across the U.S. and I haven't cross referenced them with the locations that are getting LTE but I'm sure they probably match up. But that's as far as it goes, it's no conspiracy to release the phone in only certain markets. Those are just the locations that are doing early openings. Their larger stores. They even state to check with your local store to see if they are doing early openings in which I assume most will. They are expecting this to be as huge as the Original Evo launch so they are just making tha fare that goes along with such big launches. Both the Viper and Galaxy Nexus launched in all markets not just markets that were getting LTE first. So the Evo 4G LTE will be no different. Sprint knows people will buy the thing even if they aren't expected to get LTE anytime soon.

please see my previous post. Do not worry. This is not the case. Simply put if this were such a thing, you wouldn't be able to place the order for the phone to begin with. Let's not forget that when you go to Sprint's online store one of the things they require is your zip code. Anways don't worry you'll get your phone soon. Also please see Sprint's Website for more information that refutes that link. They simply took the news release and put their own spin on it. That is how you get clicks afterall.
I still think a lot of these threads that are forming could've just added information to similar threads.

While we're waiting for our phones, I thought I would start a thread where we could just talk without worrying about going off-topic. If you want to talk about how other phones compare to the Evo, rant about rotten fruit and the vegetables that use them, etc, than this is the place.

lol, I've been preparing for this moment for a long time
My ex old lady used to always say she thought I was psychic afterall, or was it psycho.. don't remember
I've been having problems with my OG Evo for like a month now. I didn't know about the charge dock problems even though I'm always here flashing new roms. I was anxiously waiting for the new one and then all of this happened. For a while, I was seriously considering cancelling my order but then I realized that that would be a win for Apple and I could not contribute to their gain. I decided to wait patiently for my phone.
In terms of the patent I think its BS, and this is coming from a software engineer. I don't want to go deep into that discussion but working with code is a whole different ballgame.
In terms of the whole GS3 vs. EvoLTE vs. iPhone5 thing, I think both the GS3 and the EvoLTE are good phones. I don't know much about the iphone5 specs yet. What I can say is that apple products are not that unarguably better overall for them to have so much money and crazy fanboys right now.
The best apple product was the iPod by far. It revolutionized the industry. Everything else from there has come off branding. You can argue about the OG iPhone and iPad being nice too but that feels like a century ago. Like I said, everything else is marketing. Its funny people buying expensive macs just to log in to facebook and serious customers run parallel half of the time to use windows programs.
Right now, we have competition and we have android developers working their a** off to get a small share of the pie and that's why I can't cancel my order. After I read this, I was shocked by how this blind fanaticism is hurting the industry around the world. I don't wanna be a part of that. Like I said, some Apple products are great, but they are not unarguably so ahead of the curve for them to be squashing everyone that easy. My two cents...

Awesome I guess, but who cares thats not off topic man!
Lets continue the talk about Nascar ... Yes I saw all the branding and yes it ticked me off..
Now watching the New cars at Indy, wow they are funny looking. I can't get used to them. They do go fast though, unless of course your car has a Lotus motor in it... those suck. Chevy is dominating! YES!
