Since a few days it seems like the battery is not giving enough power anymore.
If I put on full brightness, and run a movie, then the screen goes black. When I turn brightness to automatic, then the movie shows normally.
When I take a picture with camera while having wifi or 3g turned on, then the camera goes black and turns back on all the time. Turn wifi / 3g off, then the camera works normal consistently.
I also have some issues with apps, like the weather live wallpaper which freezes or doesn't show up. The game angry birds flips to pause mode all the time, a TV newsviewer app systematically craps out after 1 minute or so, TV now lite crashes systematically. All these apps used to work normally.
What could be wrong with my device?

I am having a problem, I get a tv stream from a site and no matter what I set the screen auto dim ( On or Off) it goes dim in a minute or 2 then screen shuts off . But if I watch a show on hulu it doesn't shut off the screen at all even with the auto dim feature on. Weird that it used to work before I updated to 3.0.4. You guys have any ideas?
Same happens even if i am charging the pad while watching the stream.
Is there a way or an app in which you can watch a video thru hdmi with the screen off?
I'm looking for a solution also. I thought my prime would be able to replace my media player but when the screen is always on it's terribly distracting, even if the background is black.
Screen off puts it to sleep. As far as I know there's no workaround.
But if you use dice player every video I've tried has used hardware decoding and gives you the black screen. Helps on battery as well as not being distracting. Swipe down to decrease brightness on the black screen even further. Doesn't affect you're actual brightness setting.
My tablet screen goes into a sleep mode after minute. but continues playing video. I also have it plugged in. I was using the crunchyroll app so I don't know if it will work for other apps. My best guess would be go into settings and click on display and adjust the time till the screen turns off. The last thing is you can just close the prime if you have the keyboard station or just flip it over so the screen is faced down.
I don't mind the screen on but would like if off to save on battery.
I when i record a video and play it back. As soon as i start play, the screen dims.
I just got my S3 a few hours ago and its not stock. Is that a normal behavior?
My previous HOX did something very similar.
thx, nearly
Check for the brightness settings in the video player, it's on auto brightness, turn it off.
Sent from my s3
thanks a lot
Long story short I'm trying to setup a macro, so far so good, But the macro stops as soon as the lock screen is pressed. (Even though lockscreen is turned off) So basically I'm trying to find an app or something to were I can turn off the screen yet still have macro running in the background...Any help would be great.
Anyone else notice this issue.
When I use the phone normally. The auto brightness is fine.
But when I use the Camera, I might be in the middle of a Shot or Viewing a shot and it Dims and will not Go back to Bright even after touching lots of controls.
Not until I exit the Camera and Viewer does the screen go normal brightness again. It's driving me crazy.
If I shut auto brightness off it's fine. But I really want auto brightness.
I tried disabling "Auto Sleep" and it still does it.
Had that happen a few time looking at downloaded pictures (not with the camera yet) , I'd look at for a bit and if I handed my phone off to someone or it slipped out of my fingers when I was zooming on picture. It doesn't happen all the time though and I usually go and uncheck auto brightness when it guessing. Maybe the light sensor thinks the lighting has changed when it hasent then doesnt reset

Click to collapse
Yeah something like that is going on. And yeah I think it's often (maybe always) when I'm viewing the picture I just snapped it dims.
If you go back to camera or other app it goes bright again. It's really weird.
I tried the Gallery and it dims "Normally" as it should and when you touch the screen it goes bright again.
But if you view the snapshot you just took from the little preview thumbnail button. It dims rather quickly and if you touch the screen it will not turn back to normal brightness.
I was looking at a screen shot when it happened to me, as soon as I touched the screen it dimmed and wouldn't go back. Now that I think about it I conditioned myself to un check auto brightness when I look at pics or videos.
