[Q] Sharing pics to Picasa - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hey, today, when trying to share some of my photos to Picasa, I stumbled on theproblem. I can select Picasa, but then, "Add Google account" screen appears. I logged in, but then it said that this accound already exists on this phone.
Also, I dont see Picasa option in Google account syncing in Settings, therefore no picasa pics in gallery. How to make Picasa work on my phone, especially sharing?
I can upload using JustPictures app, but I would rather use system Gallery app.
Thanks..

I had the same problem....and i was already using my gmail account.
Dunno why...but i solved rebooting the phone. I found also an app "picasa tool" that is much better, is free if you want to try

Rebooting didn't solve anything.. But PicasaTool is great, better than JustPictures, as I can share directly from gallery thanks

Did you try removing your account and readding it? This may a little extreme but you could try a factory data reset too.
Good luck

[Q]How do I upload to Picasa from the gallery?

When I go to share a pic in the gallery to Picasa it goes to the upload screen for a split second then to a Google account screen asking to to create or sign in to a Google account. When I sign in using my gmail it says this account is already on the phone. I can log into Picasa via PC. Is it something I'm doing wrong or is it a bug? Thanks.

It seems to be a rather common problem, for at least the last year. I verified mine did the same as well. I'm looking at reasonable solutions, but none have been forthcoming.
Edit: It seems that as things currently stand, your options are to either install "Picasa Tool", create a second google account, or factory reset and try your luck again. It's apparently an issue with the google account setup, and since you cannot remove the default account your stuffed.
Thanks to hockeyfamily737, clearing the data and cache for the gmail app resolved the issue.

[Q] Syncmypix keeps crashing

Hey
What the title says. I just can't get syncmypix to login via facebook.
I am using Achotjan v03 rom and it doesn't have facebook sync. Now, I think after using the fb data fix and life.contacts both, I am ended up with some REALLY REALLY ugly pictures for my contacts. They don't show up in the phonebook but they show up in SMS and when calling. So, I thought maybe I can use syncmypix to fetch nice high res images. Wrong. Syncmypix doesn't even start.
Somebody please drag me out of this hell.
I do not want to see an ugly low res image of my friend whenever I call him and have to put it against my face.
Thank you.
try resyncing Google contacts?

Picasa gallery management app

Are there any recommendations for an app to link with Picasa? It's the one feature I like about AOSP ROM's since I use Picasa for all of my photo storage. I've tried installing the Gallery 3D app from AOSP Gingerbread, but the app force closes on start. I'd love to have a way for my Picasa albums to integrate with the stock app, but can live with it if they dont. I've looked through the market at a few, but couldn't decide which the best option is. Any input would be appreciated. Thanks.
Sorry if this is in the wrong section, it is a question, but it's also application related and this seemed like the best section for it.
Picassa tool works very well and it's free

Thanks, I'll check that one out.
Picasa is built into your google + account. As long as your picasa and G+ account are the same you should be able to manage your picasa photos. This is how I have been doing it and its been pretty simple. You also have an album for pics taken on your phone that you can move around.

How to ad facebook contact to my phone??

As the title says. How to ad facebook contact to my phone??
Im using a Samsung Galaxy S2.
I have set up facebook, so it sync, under control option. "Facebook contacts"
Any suggestion?
That are a few apps the force it. Your issue is due to Google removing the native Android coding to sync Facebook without the app.
I am not sure of the apps names as I don't sync fb to my phone

Thx for respons!
hmmm... too bad. I have been looking for a app, that could solve the problem, but with no luck :/
Anyone else that had figured this out ?
It should be mentioned that I'm running on a custom rom, ICS 4.04
For me, it works to create a contact as a google contact, then turn on Facebook sync under settings.
Cool will try that out, and see if it works!
grrr .. doesn't work at all
The default Facebook sync works for me, but the pictures are low res and blurry. I'm on ICS 4.0.4 too. The best app for Facebook sync is HaxSync. Pictures are nice and clear and it automatically selects the best resolution picture from someone's profile pictures album. Also syncs statuses and other stuff but I don't care for that.

Note: the app only works on ICS, not GB.

AND there was an AND.
The app doesn't get the mobile numbers :/
This may be the fix
I just installed cm10 so it is N/A for my rom, but this may be the fix for facebook not syncing contacts and an explanation how it fixes it in detail with flashable zip files at the bottom

maybe a dev could take a look at it and possible fix the issue from inside the roms

[Q] Samsung Gallery app data usage

Hi all, has anyone noticed the Gallery app using a huge amount of data? I've had the phone a week and before I disabled it on Friday it'd clocked up 770MB of data usage. Anyone know what it's doing!?
Also, anyone know how to make Justpictures or another photo app default to the preview app for the Samsung camera? Since I've disabled the Samsung Gallery app and chosen Justpictures as the Gallery app, the camera just crashes when I tap the preview icon after taking a pic.
Maybe you have activate auto sync to dropbox or google+. That will use a lot of data to upload all your photos.

Disable in accounts and sync > Google act > Sync picassa web album. I suffered same data usage

In the first few hours of owning the phone, Google + had used close to 200mb. Don't even know what Google + was so I froze it in Titanium.

Same problem here. Why Samsung took out the "Sync on WI-FI" option.. I want my albums to be synced.. but only on WIFI..
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1740975
Come on!!! Any solutions?
Same here. I want it over wi-fi. My data plan is too limited. 300 megs and in just under 4 days it blew through 150 of those before I found out what was going on. Now I have less than 150 to go with 28 days remaining on my plan.
Just disable Picture sync and use an aftermarkt sync Tool such as 'Photo Sync' on the market seem to do exactly what you want.
I downloaded Droidwall and just blocked it out over 3g. Done!

My solution was to turn off "Sync Picasa Web Albums" and set google+ and dropbox to only upload while in wifi. So far so good!

Yeah for sure, but that's not a solution! That's a patch loosing by the same time the use of all your pictures on your phone. The real fix is for samsung to do, "PUT BACK THE GOOGLE GALLERY" or at least add the Sync on WI-FI only like google does. Freakin wiz and app override.
