Does anyone know an app or zip that can be flashed to get a battery percentage in the upper right hand corner where the battery indicator is?
hum....you mean like one of the oh 50 or so themes that do this? Or you mean the guide there is in the dev forum? Oh I bet you mean "Can some one search for me?" Ok give me a min and I will spoon feed you some links
EDIT:
Okay here you go:
Themes That have battery % icon:
(I only glanced at these, It is your job to find one you like and to double check they have the battery mod and other things you want.)

From Dev thread:

Now a SEARCH would have given you this in the Themes and apps board:

Or for those too lazy to search, AND theme...
There is Battery Monitor Widget, which not only is the best app of it's kind, but it also displays in 1% increments and has a nice logging/estimation function.

Since we have the atrix deodoxed we should be able to edit the framework. I really miss the icon percentage for the battery. Any good artists working on that yet?

There's a quirk with Motorola phones where the system only shows battery percentages in 10% increments, so for now...no.
The only workaround thus far is this:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=979495&highlight=circle+battery
Sad to hear.. but even a 10% change step view is better than non. Just take the "unnecessary" single steps images out?
sent ftom moded droid 2.2
there's a way to make it read in incriments of 1%.. DG did it.. I believe you need to edit framework-res and add some new xmls that include each step from 1%-100% :T
if you need help with that.. you can try searching for circle battery mod in xda.. and download it.. and look at what's inside the zip and see where you need to put the new .png's and what to write in the xmls.

Close this thread please

cheers
please bear with us newbies. i know it is annoying/infuriating reading same questions over and over.
i understand his question as in "change ONLY the battery icon", not the entire skin. i would also like a battery icon in the notification bar (this is the right name, right?) that shows %of battery left, like some skins there have, without installing an entire new skin, if that is even possible.

To get % percentage on status bar I use BatteryMinder
People are always posting in the ROM threads wondering if a 1% battery mod is possible. I, personally, dont understand why it seems to be harder to accomplish on ICS and JB than Gingerbread. But I have come across some alternatives for those who need 1% increments.
First, there is Minimalistic Text. This allows you to put a widget on your home screen showing 1% increments of the battery. Just create a battery level widget and you're done. (see attached screenshot)
Second, there is a newer app called Battery Widget Reborn Beta. Along with adding a widget to your home screen, this app will allow you to have a constant, customizable notification (see attached screenshot). What is interesting about this app is that it has a "motorola 1% hack" in the settings that makes this possible for us. Which leads me to a question/theory.
If this app is using a 1% hack specified for motorola devices, is it possible for some smart dev to look at how this app is doing this and maybe make a mod based on it to give us a built in 1% hack? Just thought I would bring that up. Other than than that, the other two apps are working great for me.
You're right on with the Minimalistic Text. I used it and it works just fine.

I actually just started using the Battery Widget Reborn and find it really cool. I removed my Minimalistic Text widget and I'm going to try this one out for a bit. I also just removed the battery icon all together since this puts a notification in the status bar.
Awesome. Thanks for this.
The app Battery Indicator uses a Motorola hack to get 1% battery increments working, but it doesn't override the Android battery icon.
Been using it for a while and I don't mind the extra notification, so some people might like it.

That app seems to be similar to Battery Widget Reborn. I think its weird these apps use a "Motorola Hack." Whats with Motorola that doesnt allow 1% increments. And why is it so hard to get this built in?
I've only found ONE of these: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.WazaBe.android.BatteryDrain&feature=search_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNvbS5XYXphQmUuYW5kcm9pZC5CYXR0ZXJ5RHJhaW4iXQ..

I like Battery Monitor Widget. Great charts and other info inside the app, a bunch of widgets that are configurable (including having %/hour in the widget), and as a bonus (for me) it supports multiple batteries.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/...ch_result#?t=W251bGwsMSwxLDEsImNjYzcxLmJtdyJd
If it works for you, buy the Pro version (no extra features that I'm aware of, but supports the developer).

Thanks - I like this! Do you happen to know if there is a way to see % drain per hour in the graph?

I have this but I don't think it has an option to show battery % drain per hour in the widget.

More specifically, are you asking if you can see the % drain per hour in the Widget graph, or in the graph within the app?
It doesn't matter, the answer is 'yes' to both.
Within the app, just touch the graph and it will toggle between 3-4 items, %/hr is one of them.
For the widget, place one of the graph widgets on your desktop, e.g., the 4x1 widget. Then go into the app, go to Settings -> Widget Content-> Graphic Data and choose %/hr.

Thanks for all the help! Liking this one so far
Back in the past on my Windows Mobile HTC Touch Pro, i had a battery indicator called VistaHide Battery Gauge v1.1.1 that looked like the photo I've attached.
I am wondering if anyone knows of a colored one for Android like it. I seen a screenshot somewhere (don't remember what forum) where someone was showing something on a screenshot and they had this bar. I messaged them but never received a reply to email and no longer know where I seen it. If anyone knows of one, it'd be greatly appreciated.
Some roms include the "miui battery bar" like viper Rom or miui (if you're into aosp roms). But there are apps like charge bar in the market that do it. Charge bar puts ads in your notifications though. T.E.A.M battery bar is nice too with no ads. They are restricted to one color at a time but you can change the color at certain percentages, I.e. less than 30% will be red, etc.

Yeah, I'd seen quite a few of them like that, but the screenshot I'd seen one guy post actually had the multi colors like the attached image. I don't know how he did it, and can't find the post I originally seen it on to try and contact him again. I guess I'll have to do without, but thanks though.

Hey ProtoProtoss, did you ever find this???
I would love to find the equivalent on Android as it is the most practical approach I have seen to battery level indication. I don't know why there are so many apps consuming valuable screen real estate and resources just to show a system statistic. The VistaHide model was beautiful by its use of the gradient coloring and idea of only consuming a few pixels. I am going to try the Battery Bar by TEAM, but it seems they don't know about or can't do the gradient.

I wish, but I never did. I have up eventually and asked the guy that created VistaHide if he could Perry it over or something, but he never responded. I loved that app too.

I tried the T.E.A.M. Battery Bar and it is close to the VistaHide functionality. I got in touch with the developer who advises that color gradient is in the dev pipeline. So there is hope yet for a VistaHide reincarnation
(now if we can only figure out how to remove the stock battery icon from the status bar)
Mine is fine...

For anyone who is still interested, the UCCW and Zooper Widget apps allow you to create this type of battery meter.
