Hi.
I recently got a mini, updated it from 1.6 o 2.1, rooted it with superoneclick and everything is jus peachey...
Except with the music player - whenever it plays a track, it randomly starts playing another track while playing the main one, then continues with the trach you were listening to. I have tried increasing the sd cache read ahead speed but this doesn't help, I have also tried changing music players - using nemo player same results, using the player from the w8 as well.
I have changed four different sd cards of different classes still I get the same irritating behaviour.
What can i do to make this a great music playing phone?
This is not an issue with the music player, the tracks are corrupted happened with me, the data of songs get intermixed coz its too simillar, it shudnt happen with other songs! Try deleting the corrupted files...
Thank you Galvic.
The mistake I was making was that i was backing up everything then formatting the sd card, then copying the backed up stuff that's why. Jus copied new tracks - lo and behold, the little midget works perfectly now.
Thanx again Galvic.
Cheers!

i use Energy Rom and Radio rom 2.07.50.
ok so when i try to use the music player it works for few seconds plays the song and then there is no sound.. and i had this in any rom and even when i just bought the phone and didn't flash it yet, sometimes it works for few seconds in some roms and then there is no sound and in some cases it just crashed and gave me an error.
any ideas how to solve this ?
i like the player it looks better than windows media (any cool downloadable skins for WM? )
thanks in advance.
discussed in several threads, usually turns out to be badly tagged mp3, or badly formatted sd card.
wipe and format your sd card, delete
application data/htc/audiomanager/audiomanager.vol (there may be "_eng" in the folder/filename ) then move some music across (dont use sync, just drag and drop it) if it works move some more across, see if works, and keep going till it doesn't. that way you can track down the culprit.
oh that's alot of work lol i have tons of songs.. i think i will just stick to my windows media player .
thanks anyway.
Hello Everyone
I have been having this problem for some time and T-Mobile can't assist me so i decided to come here for a try.
I have about 2000 songs on my 16gig card most are of mp3 format. Well i have noticed that when i update the library it doesn't full do so. It goes through and finds the files and then is goes to add the files and then after adding some the player just closes. And when i open it back up i notice that there are A LOT of files that were not added to the player but can easily be played when accessed them via File Explorer.
*I also tried updating the library about 4x to see if the added files were missed some how with no luck.
Its frustrating b/c i prefer to use WMP over the HTC player.
Does anyone have a clue why this happens?
anyone...?
how did you transfer the files to your card?
ive read that syncing through media player on your pc can cause problems and that its better to just drag n drop the media to your sd card...
i did indeed sync through wmp so i could easily get the artist>album>layout. so would it help if i copied the folders back to my pc and then dragged them back to the memory card?
I can't guarantee that it will solve your problem but it might be worth a try....
just out of interest, does the htc sense player find all the files ok?
i just checked and nope that player .seems to be missing more songs than wmp
hmmm typical sense I suppose.......
I would try the drag n drop or maybe even test with another player like nitrogen or something.......
after that Im out of ideas..... sorry
Drag and drop/copy and paste is you best option, delete all the music from your sd card first - it worked for my uk HD2
ok i will try now and update to let you guys know if it worked
OK so i deleted the files and reinstalloed them and unfortunately it didnt work
I even checked by using the HTC player and noticed that player misses songs also. And not all of the same songs.
Hi, was using my bros x10 (UK 2.1) yesterday and everything was working perfectly fine.
An hour ago used it again to listen to some music but none of them showed up in the music player. I checked my SD using astro and everything is there. But when i go to click on a music file it opens up with a different music player but not with media-scape.
I tried downloading different music apps (MixZing & 3). When i go to the library there is no music there??
Seriously confused as to why the music players aren't picking up the mp3 files
Recently i changed my ROM and since then all music apps, including stock, says i only have a few songs on whereas Astro File manager shows i have all my albums and i can only listen to them through there, not a normal music app. Anyone have any suggestions on how to fix this? Thanks ;D
What Rom you on?if miui go to music folder in settings but if still you have nothing You can try this app available on Google play
https://play.google.com/store/search?q=media+scanner+
Im on FeraVolt v16 but the problem occurred when I tried v13 I think
il download the app and see what is says
Thanks
Anyone be able to shed some light on how I can get my music back?
What media players have you tried?
Even have you checked permissins to the music folders if there are readable and writable for all?
Iv tried stock music player, DoubleTwist, Meridian, AMP? maybe some others? and none of them could 'see' most of the songs. I know they are on the card in the music folder, would i maybe need to move them to a new one? The music apps can see 7 songs, but i have alot more on my card :/
Try MortPlayer - It is folder based (I love it, because play randomly by files,to albums etc...). Run it and select you music folder to scan it and see it it will be seen.
Il try that once my phone has charged fully, i ordered a new one after mine started to fail :/ should i delete battery stats after the charge to 100% do you think?
I think that it is not necessary if you wont observe some kind of strange reportings of battery level.
Thanks for the recommendation, MortPlayer seems to be working well. Just trying to gte the correct ablum arts now
You should be fine by rebooting the phone, if not then try wiping cache data and dalvik

Use TCM musicTag Editor - simple and usable
Mortplayer uses the covers inside the music files or in their directory for eg. album art. Similar like dekstop players.
But still cant understand why other players cant recognize other music, as mentioned before, try reboot and even the wipe data of "Media provider".
Hi,
i have a problem with my phone. One day, after disconnecting the phone from my pc all the music from the music player has gone missing. I cant even set music stored on the SD card as ringtones. But i still can browse my sdcard and access data from it in Total Commander without any problems.
The issue happened on CM7.2, but since than i have reinstalled my phone with CM9 with a full wipe, however the problem still persists. I have also tried to rescan the media library n Dev Tools several times, removing and reinserting teh card, etc. but nothing seems to help.
Any idea what could be wrong?
Had a similar problem on CM10+ Walkman player. Couldn't do anything about it. Used to play individual songs via Root Explorer on Walkman player. But then I added some songs to my sdcard and voila problem solved!
