Gingerbread for Malaysia? - Optimus One, P500, V General

Today I got this update message from lg......(in Malaysia)
It's says the newest version is v10G
So~
If v10F is android 2.2.2, what can v10G be?
(what comes after 2.2.2 ?)
#Just asking before upgrading to v10G

It would be nice if you take up the effort to upgrade first and let us know what the android version is, so that we can be relieved about these conflicting news from LG
Thanks for the good news though. Atleast we have some sort of update from LG

Yeah, install it and then will see Update your post after upgrading your ROM.
But I'm sure it's not a GingerBread, because gingy is using v20 or something like that.

Today I installed an update to v10H. I do not know if it is newer than v10G, but it is still Froyo. The phone works better, but the touchscreen has still a bug with 100% core activity.
Is touchscreen bug fix (kernel) works fine in 2.2.2?

v10g also 2.2.2 ~

Error 155 during firmware update T-mobile G2

I have tried several times to do a firmware update for the T-mobile G2 (Dutch version). I don't think there is any difference between the dutch or the english version.
Everything goes until the firmware updates really starts. I get a message bootloader starts over again! and then that the firmware update fails.
My G2 has been rooted, but i turned all back to the original backup. (I Think)
Modelnr: T-Mobile G2 Touch
Firmwareversion: 1.5
Smallbandversion: 63.18.55.06EU_6.35.06.18
Buildnr: 1.76.110.6 146733 CL#47214
Softwareversion: 1.0.0.A6288
Is there anyone who can help me so that i can use the firmware update. I hear a lot of complaint over this update, but I need to be able to acces a WiFi network.
Are you using the RUU process? If so, it's probable that it is failing the CID check as you are T-Mobile NL rather than T-Mobile UK (though I'd expect to see a message to that effect!).
What is wrong with your WiFi?
Regards,
Dave
My problem with the wifi is that i can't setup security certificates. I read that it become possible from the new firmware.
Someone told me it was possible to install the T-mobile UK version. But then i have to wait until the dutch supported version. Thank you for your response.

I believe that is part of Donut, and not in the current update ROMs. However, if you install a rooted ROM, it is possible that this app may help:

To reiterate - you *MUST* have a rooted ROM in order to use this application.

@ Greg
Just connect the phone (X10) to your PC and it will pop up with different installations. Install the Sony Ericsson PC Companion and it will tell you that there’s an update ready.
Then follow the instructions. This is a firmware update!
That worked for me!
My version is 1.0.16"
My phone allready have 1.0.16... (not upgraded it)
I also want it !
hhhmmmmmm, the fun that ill have come tuesday!!
Yes there is a 16 update around and no i can't update to it either...maybe it's generic vs carrier again - that's why we need root/custom roms!
I've got the .16 upgrade on my phone, I don't notice much of a change though.

even iam from india iam on .14 but whenever i check it states "firmware is upto-date".
Just upgraded mine from 14 to 16 last night by using Sony Ericsson Update Service. This is a baseband firmware update, so you won't be able to update via Android's update firmware feature.
Hello, in france, via SEUS the latest FW is still the 1.0.14. And I still have poping and cracking. Hope the 1.0.16 solve this issue.
Best regards
I'm located in Belgium and I also can't update to .16 software.
boy does this phone need 2.1!!!!!!!!!! its a gonner without it i am afraid. functionality and stability from 2.1 firmware will bring out the beast in this phone. 1.6 right now is too limited for what this phone is capable off so SONY dont let us wait too long! i know min issue would be adding media and timescape to 2.1 but it needs to be done!
Mine is a Vodafone UK Handset, SEUS is saying mine is up to date.
Model X10i
BaseBand. 1.0.14
Kerbel Verison. 2.6.29-rel
Build No. R1FA014

Looks like Vodafone are lagging with a firmware release.
Andy
Go to Sonys webbpage, dowload and install the software update service, follow the guide for X10 and install the latest update. It is easy to do and the last firmware is 1.0.16
Any Q?? you just ask.
Regards.

Ive done all that, it says my phone has the latest firmware on it. Currently i have firmware 1.0.14
Is this another delay with Vodafone being slow to release software?
No this is Sony Ericson soft and has nothing to do with Vodaphone. I just ran the program my self and had no problem at all. Just try it again.

It has more than you think. If the phone is branded then Vodaphone has to approve the update before it can be delivered through SEUS.
This is the same issue i'm facing with 3 Denmark, the phone has ONE extra app(3MobileTV) BUT that means that 3DK has to approve ALL software updates from SE before it can be installed...
This is why we desperately need root/custom roms
Ok, thank´s for updating me on that. But i still think it´s strange.

[Q] LG Opt One w V10B not Root-able ?

Hi,
I have got a LG P500 brand italian Wind and
I upgrade it with V10B firmware.
Now it is not rooted. I try to use SuperOneClick and Z4Root 1.3.0 witout result.
Can you help me ?
thanks
10B or 10C?
What Android version is it runing?
Cheers
My Optimus One had V10b on it from the store, and it was successfully rooted by z4root.
V10 b rootable
Hi
It's an italians Wind provider customization.
However I resolved using a XDA Guide http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=875881 downgrading LG P500 to V10A.
Thanks
V10b is bootable,
Please, go to the informations thing in settings and check the android version.. it should either be
2.2 FroYo
OR
2.2.1 FroYo
2.2 == root
2.2.1 == no root, downgrade

So
V10A == 2.2 Froyo than Root-able
V10B == 2.2.1 Froyo not Root-able
thanks
no,no,no,no V10B should be 2.2... V10E was the first ROM to have 2.2.1
btw, v10a -> v10b -> v10c... -> v10e
if v10e is the first 2.2.1 ROM, v10d cannot be 2.2
I have V10C, and Android version 2.2.1.
So V10A,V10B=2.2 i.e. rootable
V10C,V10D,V10E=2.2.1 i.e. NOT rootable
v10B is rootable, v10c, is not. thats why I am not updating!
V10C is not rootable? My friend got his P500 from some store with kinda old stock and he got V10B and I went to my favorite reliable mobile store and got latest one. Now regretting it :|
^ No worries, you can easily downgrade it to V10B.
Your biggest mistake is that you think that V10B_00 is Android 2.2.
First, to be clear, the version of the package (V10X_00) has nothing to do with the version of Android, as different mobile operators costumize their updates in different ways and a T-Mobile V10B_00 can be basically the same as M-Tel's V10D_00.
Second - if you are using a highly-costumised rooted stock Androd, I suggest not upgrading it using a stock upgrade, as it will roll back most of your modifications.

Official V10h rom.

I've just downloaded and installed the official rom V10H using the LG mobile support tool.
Android ver: 2.2.2
Build date: FEB-23-2011
The phone feels way faster now and boot up needs less time.
Also some problems with USB connection are now corrected and LG PC Suite now works flawlesly with the phone.
Has anybody else installed this rom?
Me (my Light ROM). The only problem I can find is me not being able to play "The Impossible Game". The phone panics and then restarts Tried this with two builds: One Vodafone branded and one unbranded KDZ for Germany.
So yep, I think this is a 2.2.2 problem.
Other than that, it's perfectly fine. So far.
Hey. Is that OPEN EUROPIAN 10H. I wanted to download that one and flash it but on LG site it says forbiden and trough LG Update all i can do is flash 10E German version becaouse my phone is for German market. Is touch Lag fixed on 10h?
No it isn't .
able to root using z4root or other?
I dont think so. This root bug is fixed from 2.2.1
I do the v10h upgrade from the officiallg site, but its unable to make root the phone with superoneclick.
The process stop in a loop of the psneuter component. Can anyone to make the phone root with other way?

The German unbranded version before that was 10a, right? Is it normal for the German firmware to revert to German language everytime you restart the phone? This is highly annoying, I like my phones in English.
"The Cell phone is the latest version already. So you don't need to update."
version : v10f
where, how i cen get v10h ?
In Italy today we got v10e. I'm wondering if in different countries there are different versions for the same changelog...
Today I also received an update message for version 10H. Currently I am running V10B.
In this topic I read that after the upgrade rooting will not be possible any more. Is that correct? Or are there ways to root the phone, even after the upgrade to V10H? And what about custom roms, can they still be installed after the upgrade to version 10H?
Sorry for my "dumb" questions, I am new to Android, but learning
Anyone knows the changelogs of the differents version?
LG is making a mess..
I have upgraded my p500 to 2.2.2 and it's awesome. Touch became more sensible and responsive. Crash count of LG preloaded applications decreased seamlessly. 2.2.1 from LG was too buggy.

[Q] LG P970G Update from 2.2.2 to 4.0.4 Help Needed

I have a little problem.
Need to update a LG p970g Telus phone from 2.2.2 to 4.0.4.
Problem LG no longer supports updating from 2.2.2 to 4.0.4
When I try with the LG Update Program it errors out. I called Lg Support and that guy I talked to is more clueless then me.
Don't want to root anything. Just want to go from OFW 2.2.2 to OFW 4.0.4. Dont care if I have to install 2.3.4 and so on till I get to 4.0.4.
Got two of those phones LG P970G (1 for me and 1 for my wife) one was on 2.3.4. and I updated that just fine to 4.0.4 so I kind of know what I doing, kind off!
