So no Accessories will work from 4G I take it - HTC EVO 3D

Except headphones!
Battery dimension I take it is different. Seidio / battery chargers all need to be changed....etc..

I wouldn't assume that they would work, mostly because of the major differences on the back.
On a side note... Why is this in Themes and Apps instead of Accessories?

Whoops entered on the run.... by mistake.. sorry

Super cheap battery & external charger

I've ordered 2 of these (2 batteries & 2 external chargers). I can't believe how cheap they are and the seller claims they are compatible with the HTC Hero (Sprint). He also appears to have fairly great feedback.
I'll let you know how they work out when they arrive.

This might be more what your looking for mate ... http://cgi.ebay.com/for-Sprint-HTC-...Accessories?hash=item3a53d22232#ht_2442wt_802
Yep, they work. I now have 2 HTC Heros, each with 3 batteries & 2 wall chargers. They're slim enough to fit one or even two in my wallet without too much extra bulk.
So glad I ditched that POS iPhone.
it looks good! but i am very concern about the quality as you know that battery always explode nowadays!
thanks for posting the link, I'm also going try the battery out and see if they would blow lol
I've got them two weeks ago, using them since. One of them have in wallet (haven't used this one yet) and the other one is in the phone - original is back in the box.
They're ok, little bit weaker than original, but for this price. One thought - I had to use the pile to get them into the phone, they were a 1mm too long
Weaker than the originals? They should be better lol.
And you guys are buying batteries for that cheap and really arent worried about them either a)exploding or b) overheating and melting or melting internal components in the phone .. ?? The quality cant be that great

Galaxy S II extended battery, speculations?

Does anyone know what type of extended batteries to expect from third parties for the galaxy s ii? I remember there were some rather hefty and bland looking ones at the early stages of the galaxy s release. Did they get better/better looking and how soon do you expect the first ones will be available for the s ii?
I personally don't like extended batteries and I would only use it if it was something that made the whole phone bigger(but not much bigger) because having it all slim, then suddenly bulge out where the battery is, just doesn't work.
Well, it already has a hump on the bottom, like the galaxy s, so making the hump the new thickness and evening it out throughout the back wouldn't make it too much thicker. Some people don't care about thickness anyway and it could be a good powerphone with a big 2400 mah+ battery.
I use 2000mah original Samsung battery and it takes my phone looks more beautiful in my point of view. The thickness of back cover will increase to be the same level as bottom hump(where there is a speaker hole)
But there are many 3rd parties battery with much larger capacity (3500 mah I think?) and with the new back cover. You should look in eBay.

yea but how on earth do you even find the thread? either have to go through a hell of a lot of pages to find it or even searching for battery would bring up a lot of more recent threads including an entire sub forum for accessories.

[Q] Any word on an extended battery yet?

I've looked, but can't really find one. Do any of you all know when or if an extended battery will be available? I had one on my original Evo but now I'm just lost. =]]
I think the battery life is way better than the Evo 4g. It comes with a 1730mah battery so it's pretty good. I've been running it all day just about the same as my old 4g and the battery life feels about double what I would of got.
coming soon.

I never go for the cheap ebay batts.
Might take more time since constructing a new back for this phone seems like alot more work with it wrapping around the sides and buttons being included

Oh great, another rip-off overrated seidio battery. Whats this one really going to be? 1680mAh? When are people going to learn you cannot cram more mAh into the same form factor. If it was possible, HTC would do it with the stock battery. The only way to get more mAh is with more size. No offense to tide88, I'm just really fed up with this company and their lies.

It's not double for me, but it's about 10% more. So right as it should be. I got about 24-26 hours with the Evo 4g, I'm getting about 28-30 with the 3d.

That one is not the same size as the original, it's larger and requires a special cover.
However, this one is supposed to be larger and sill fit in under the original door http://www.seidioonline.com/product-p/basi19hev3d.htm
However, unless it's a different type of battery (like a Li-Po), it's not physically possible to get more Ah out of the same area.
different cells can give a little more power.
and yes, the super size - does require a different back, had it for my evo 4g, and i could listen to pandora radio all day at work, for 8 hrs, and still be 50% battery after.
i cant wait for it to come out, yes it will be big, but last all day.

GS III gets a Rechargeable Battery Case Before One X/Evo LTE

Well if this wasn't a smack in the face! This morning I wake up with an email on my phone proclaiming this is now shipping. So a phone that already has a removable battery, with plenty of extra and extended batteries available, is first to the market with a case/battery combo, before a phone that doesn't have a removable battery? Not to mention they also got first dibs on their new waterproof case but that is understandable considering how many Samsung sells. Well needless to say I instantly shot off an email asking if and when they were planning on releasing something for the phones that actually need their product. Waiting for response.
I also seen this and was surprised. I have an S3 and can't for the life of me think why anybody would buy this product. A spare battery is only a few bucks and they are so small and easy to carry. Why would anybody want one if you had the choice?
I can understand it being a popular product for something like the one x or the Iphone that don't have a removable battery but it seems like a stupid idea to me to make this for the S3. They must have a market for it though I suppose.

This is just a result of Samsung's crack marketing, they got this sort of cult following now and that means there's a potential market for useless crap, I wouldn't mind a rechargable case for my lte but on a device with a removable battery it's more of a gimmick to me

at least with a case you wont have to remove the battery to put in another one
a case is not gimmicky for a phone like that imo
While I admit its useful, many of these device families use similar batteries. I loved that I could just toss my evo battery into my 3d and and keep going without having to spend money on an accessory that caters specifically to one device model. When I have upgraded the case will be useless in regards to the new phone, Unless the design is the same which is not very likely
My battery is the best I ever had on a smartphone..
No need for ugly aftermarket batteries or ugly cases with battery that make my beautiful EVO fugly!
I'm good!
Were being left in the dust..... This phone deserves as much attention as anyone else

Yea but Samsung won.. This phone will never see the support Samsung is getting... Its sad....
Sent from my EVO using xda premium
it's not like we can't replace the battery on the 4g lte, you just have to remove some screws but luckily the phone is able to hold itself together without those screws
I currently carry a spare battery around with me like i did with the 3vo and it works great
Not surprised. right after the GS3 came out Trident had all the colors available for the Kraken and iirc the other cases they were planning to offer for that phone. The Evo LTE came out a few months before that and a few months AFTER they made the case for GS3, the ones for the Evo LTE started rolling out.
I can understand the Evo LTE not getting much love because only Sprint has it and its a different form factor than the HOX, but I'm a bit disappointed that the HOX didn't have a battery case by now. I don't actually need one myself as the battery life is sufficient to me but it would be great to have options.
You guys are acting like a bunch of EMO highschoolers. OMG why does the world hate us?
Seriously..... the S3 is a blockbuster phone. Yes, that attracts people to make accessories for it. Who would have thought that people looking to sell things want to have a large market for their products?
In the end... so what? If you can't get a full days charge out of this battery, you are doing something wrong.
Niche phone. Get used to it.

Well the sgs3 is the same phone in terms of body for the entire globe so naturally companies will jump to make accessories for the sgs3. They would make more profit on accessories for the sgs3 than the one x/s/v/evo 4g lte...

eh Id never ever use something like this and add that much bulk to an already large phone, it looks silly imo, when I had my og evo and then my old epic touch I used to carry an extra battery with me

Or I could just carry around my charger and plug it in when the battery gets low....guess you don't get the point of not wanting to carry around a extra battery or charger or battery bank. If I already put my phone in a bulky case for protection, why not also get the added benefit of extra juice, all in one item.

Extended Battery Packs

I'm keeping an eye out for the availability of some power jacket extended battery packs.
Below are a couple of examples of solutions that are available for the standard Xperia Z.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bearcXdXdAc
http://www.youtube.com/watch?feature=player_embedded&v=6rE0Z0yczws
The first one is a generic Chinease one that is about availiable on ebay for about $25
The second one is the official mugen one that has recently come out.
Personally I think I prefer the cheep Chinese one. Anyway its all academic at the moment because there are no solutions out yet for the Ultra. Its pretty new out mind so I suspect that when the LTE models launch globally we will see such solutions. :good:
Would you consider using such a solution for your Ultra?
These stuffs does give the phone some extra weight, some may like it for easier handling due to it having more weight but kinds of defeats the purpose of the ZU design.
I'm currently using a 15000mAh powerbank with 2.1A and 1A output options.

You're talking to a man who has a 9000mAH Zerolemon battery on his Note 2
Each to his own of course but my personal preference is to have a powerjacket attached to the device rather than carry around a separate power bank.

Haha no worries, I owned one of the powerjackets for my Note 2 or was it S3, I'm fine with it but just speaking out generally since many users are going for thinner and thinner designs
I generally don't mind added thickness and weight, phones these days are going so thin and light, it makes me feel insecure holding them lol.

Yeah, Its just a shame they didn't see fit to make a bit thicker and go for a 4000 mAh battery.

I was kind of excited when you posted this thread but when I saw the battery capacity and I went "mehhhh"
Cos anything equal to or less than the phone's own capacity.. is a little on the low side. Most of the time we will use the phone and use the power jack at the same time, which means even if it's equal to the phone's 3000mAh it would probably be able to charge it from 1% to say 50% only. Still useful in emergency times (beggars can't be choosers) but like you said, maybe 4000-5000mAh may be a better option considering these cheap China makes usually overstate their capacity and the battery degrades rather fast too.

Well they certainly have more surface area to play with on the Ultra, so lets hope the capacities supplied will be bigger. That's kind of too logical to be a reality though lol
