How do I sync my notes from the Notes app to my PC? I've never figured out how to do that.
Thanks
if using windows mobile device center go to content sync settings and put a tick in the notes box..
What isn't obvious is that the sync'ed notes will appear inside Outlook as notes.
Screw it I just copied the text to ms word and saved as a txt file. thanks tho guys

Hi.
I have all my emails on my XDA in Activesync inbox but my computer died and i lost them all off my PC. Is it possible for the XDA to send the emails back to the computer? Ive tried it a couple of times and it just deletes them all from my XDA! (Thank god for backups!!).
I really don't want to lose all 526 emails :-(.
Any suggestions?
Graham
I join this call!
I work with pcc 2002.
1. Recently I tried to synchronize wiht Outlook 2000. I checked the 'inbox', so the inbox, sent items, drafts,... should be synchronized, but only the inbox synched. After that I put the mails in 'sent items' in a new folder in the pc and instructed active sync to synchronize with that new folder, but it didn't work either. I created a new folder with mails from the inbox and that did synhronize. After that I instructed active sync not to synhronize with the inbox and the new folders and deleted the mails on the xda in order to clean up. After instructing act.sync. to synchronize the inbox again to see if the 'sent box' would be synched, all the inbox-mails were deleted of course (I had the backup!), but the sent items were again not synchronized.
2. Also some attachments could not be synchronized and there is no way of knowing of which mails.
3. Isn't there a way to have the mails, contacts and appointments stored on the SD-Card to save main memory?
4. Isn't it possible to have a folder synchronising files on the sd-card with files on somewhere on the harddisk of the pc?
5. Is there a good manual somewhere about safe synchronizing and troubleshooting it?
I would be very gratefull to get some answers to these questions
:?: :?: :?: :?:
My outlook contacts folder is full of crap. Lots of email addresses I never ever use and I don't really want them on my xda.
Is there some way to make the XDA synchronise with a different location on the PC so that I can back up my contact list on the xda but without downloading all the useless bumf from outlook?
Thanks,
Daniel
Furthermore - is there any way to make it synchronise with an OUTLOOK EXPRESS address book rather than outlook?
- you won't be able to synchronize with Outlook Express...that's why they provided a copy of Outlook with the device.
However, if you are interested in synchronizing with other contacts folders give this a try.
Hi thanks for the reply -
a while of fiddling actually brought up this simple (?) solution -
every contact i make on my xda i put into the "xda" category. Then when I sync i tell them to only sync the "xda" category.
That outlook plugin does look interesting - thanks for the link!
Dan
I know of 2 programs that claim to allow syncing with Outlook Express:
1) SyncExpress 2002
http://www.syncdata.it/syncexpress.html
2) Intellisync

Hope this helps.

I have many tasks/appointments saved in my phone's calendar (the default HTC calendar that is). Is there a way to save those entries and view them on my pc's desktop (NOT via a new window though)? Maybe some sort of windows vista/7 widget?
Windows 7 has a Control Screen for mobile devices. When you connect the USB cable and set up an active synch connection it should auto start the control centre.
In this centre you can synch your contact, calendar meetings etc.
If this not what you were looking for let me/us know
sorry for the late reply, but for some reason i totally missed your reply.
i synced my photo to the pc, selecting the calendar, but... whats next? i mean, where were those calendar entries saved to so that i can check them from my pc?

Hi All,
I have been searching the web this afternoon and cannot find any resolution to an issue I am having and its driving me bonkers.
I have recently upgraded to Office 2010 32bit (including Outlook) and within this there is a very clever "Birthdays" view of the calendar which appears to be separate to the normal calendar. So on the PC I can see all the birthdays as all day events. However when I sync with the phone it doesn't bring this information across!
I have tried just copying the bookings from that calendar into the "normal" calendar, but it errors. I presume this must be because they are not actual calendar entrys and just created on the fly.
I am syncing using Windows Mobile Device Center via USB to my phone.
Any suggestions would be most appreciated, as otherwise I am highly likely to miss birthdays as my memory is shocking!
Have you installed OutlookConnector.exe for synchronizing Outlook with Hotmail or GoogleMail?
Do a right mouse click on birthday calendar and choose options to see to which account your birthday calendar is connected to.
For me it is connected to my Hotmail account.
Birthday calendar is not a part of the Outlook file system which is synchronized with your device, sorry.
And again I'm sorry I can copy birthday calendar entries by drag and drop or copy/paste.
The birthday view is just a view. A way to present the information in the calendar.
Built-in apps on phones typically does not support a birthday view. You can look for Pocket Informant (which is now free on WM, but the link is not easy to find), which offers lots of different views.
Or just conduct a search on birthday.
Ah thanks for the responses guys. Yes you are correct its taking it from Hotmail for some reason! Also, slightly bizzarely I just tried again to copy the birthdays across and this time its working. Very wierd.
I will also check out that pocket informant you mentioned about, keeping them split seems good if I can manage that.
Hi
I just bought this HTC Mozart 7 yesterday and I dont know how do I sync my windows contacts. I got those contacts from my Iphone and i am very new to windows mobile
I dont have windows mobile center in my PC and I tried downloading zune (i dont know if that is helpful) but somehow it doesnt detect my handset
you can import your contacts from your Sim-card, than save them to your Windows Id account and edit in the Windows page. You'll have access to your mail, Skydrive, contacts...
You can also import contacts from facebook or other services like google...
I never use a iphone so I can't help you to transfer contacts by wifi, but it may be possible
O my god
Is that the only way ? Hell I am starting thinking of selling this phone, it is so complicated.
I dont have data plan i dont know how do I import
The future for PC and smartphone are Cloud services, so you will always need a good data service or wifi spots
Zune is also nice. It backup's all your data to your PC by usb connection.
You can also use outlook to edit your contacts; name, phone, email, address... and WP7 will import everything to your phone.
The oldest way to transfer contacts is by Bluetooth but only customized rom's lets you transfer data. I think it's not possible in iphones.
Don't give up, it seems complicated but its very easy, and as a lot of vantages. Old days when an accident append to your phone you would lose all contacts and data, now, with cloud services they are always protected.

found this on a web site
" To be able to synchronize contacts from an iPhone into Windows Phone 7 "
This is a three step move, with several minor details.
Let's begin :
1 - Start by install the iTunes on your PC :
http://www.apple.com/itunes/download/
Next, connect your iPhone to your computer and then wait for it to show up as a device in iTunes.
Once connected, click on the "Info" tab and go down to "Contacts". Select to sync contacts with Outlook and then sync your iPhone.
This operation will copy all contacts from your iPhone (including contact pictures, if you use them) to the Outlook Contacts folder.
Just need to make sure that the contacts were sinchronized to the Outlook.
2 - The next step is to install the Outlook Hotmail Connector, depending on your Windows Version, 32 or 64 bit :
Download details: Outlook Hotmail Connector 32-bit
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...89-af2e-41f9-a175-f93e1377959f&displaylang=en
OR
Download details: Outlook Hotmail Connector 64-bit
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...f4-f4bf-4751-954b-5b36d80ec375&displaylang=en
You must restart Outlook and configure a new account, Hotmail, using your Hotmail username and password.
At this point, you are connected to the Hotmail.com service using Outlook, meaning you can send and receive e-mails from Outlook and to synch contacts
3 - You can now start the next step.
In Outlook, scroll to the Contacts of your Usual Mailbox and select all, by pressing CTRL+A and hit CTRL+C.
Scroll to the Contacts inside the Hotmail Mailbox on your Outlook and press CTRL+V.
Outlook will copy all the contacts to the "Cloud". Your Hotmail contacts folder online is the destination.
On your Windows Phone 7 device, click the Right Arrow ( à ) and then choose "Hotmail".
Press the Sync button and that's it.
there is an app in the marketplace for that
