i am having a quite unusual problem with the battery on my TP. it is hard to explain but i will try my best to do so. While i was casually surfing the web while on the charger i noticed that my battery started to drain ( this is the more ordinary problem that has been posted on many threads ) but this new situation is. The indicator lights and meters within the TP indicate that the battery is charging yet it still drains. I tried turning it completely off and removing the battery and then putting it back in and charge the unit for one hour. After one hour it charged to 20% which is reasonable enough for normal use, so i turn it back on and continue to use the device again the TP still indicates that the battery is charging after listening to about 7 songs i get a very low battery indicator warning (at the same time the battery indicates its charging) there is NO overheating and when the battery reaches 0% it does not die the screen just goes off and i can turn it back on and still recieve the low battery warning but what i cannot do is use data or even turn the phone radio back on. I am on the NFS 1.05 ROM, any suggestions?

Try to get a charger with an output of at least 1 A. It could be that your charger is not powerful enough to compensate for the drainage. The other thing is that WM' battery indicator flat out sucks... it is like Windows file system when it is desperately trying to tell you how much time you have left before your task is done (2 minutes jumping to 15 seconds jumping to 54 minutes jumping to 2 seconds jumping to 3 days, etc)..
Flash to another rom and see if the behavior still remains.... I doubt NFS messed up that badly with power settings, but it is always worth giving it a shot.
yea i doubt its the rom either as i was having overheating/drainage problems on stock but it wasnt anything like this
I've had my Titan for nearly 5 months now. I am hoping Titan's battery isn't that crap as I think. However, since last 1 week what I've seen is my LED goes green to indicate that my phone is charged. It shows 100% in battery saver menu. However, if I restart my phone while it's plugged in the charger even after green LED, then after the reboot my battery is down to 89-91% mark. Either the battery calibration has gone wonky or the LED doesn't recognise the real battery levels.
It would really help if anyone who charges their phone during the coming week, could restart their phone while plugged in as soon as you see green LED and then see if anything changes in your battery stats?

The calibration is a little wacked. Here is my example - i charge it for 5 hours and it says 100%... but it only lasts about 7 hours and i can tell throughout the day that it drains faster. If i charge it for 8 i get closer to 13 with heavy web and game use. At 5 hours it turns green also ... but it seems as though it still charges more when left plugged in longer.
Some apps also like wp7 news clips off about 1 to 2 percent battery everytime i run them. (it brings in feeds from 20 different websites (estimate, i didn't count) so it's worth it but i check it a lot.
Could be wrong but as far as im aware that over charge protection. Your phone shouldnt really be charged 100%. 90-95% should be the sweet spot. Generally when i first noticed that i used to restart the phone and charge it to 100% but my battery life actually got less than just letting the phone decide when its enough
My titan has recently been getting more and more life from the battery; upwards of two days. I turned off wifi and I got 4 days 4 hours, died just some hours ago (I don't game much, but I do listen to music).
I've been getting into the habit of charging it when it gets below 5%, not every night like I used to. So it'll be 30% at night sometimes, and it'll last me another day with light/average usage (as opposed to my previous mindset where anything below 50% is a no go).
It might not work to leave till last 5% especially for someone like me who travels a lot. Don't you fear at times that your phone might faint when you really want to use it? As soon as my phone goes in battery saver mode I plug it in. Maybe that 90% limit as a reason. Over riding it helped me but if I did not over ride the following cycle then my battery performance seemed awful! Very strange working indeed.

If I plan on using it AND I know I'm going out where there is potentially no USB to charge with, I bring my portable USB battey charger and/or one of my other phones. However, I don't mind not having a phone with me at all times, so if it dies, it dies. Still, I just got it to last 4 days, so if you don't watch videos or play games frequently, charging every three days is unheard of for a smartphone!
The battery's health relies on charging it properly, and I value keeping this up over having it charged when convenient for me. Battery saver kicks in at 20% I think, and with battery saver, you'll get almost another day with light usage, so charging when battery saver turns on is probably really hurting your battery.
I generally unplug my phone when I notice the LED turns green (even if I'm going to bed for the night I'll unplug it). I have never had such amazing battery life with any other phone, but I also have never taken such lengths to improve battery life either.
Why don't you pick up a brand new HTC Evo 3D battery off eBay or something and use that? Its a 1730mAh battery compared to Titans 1600mAh and works fine in the Titan.

Deep discharging a Li-Ion is worse for it than frequent charging. Temperature also is very important and I haven't noticed the battery get hot when sitting on the charger after the light turns green.

I apologize if this is a repost. I know I read somewhere (I believe here) about a similar issue, but I couldn't find it in searching.
A little background - AT&T SGS2 running stock rom (2.3.4), rooted, using a custom kernel (2.6.35.6) I got off of here.
Anyway, my phone has been working great for months. All of a sudden, my battery indicator is completely wacky and innacurate. It seems to have started after I came back from a trip and had to put it in 'airplane mode' a few times.
The battery level indicator goes down very quickly, and is not a true indication of my phone's charge level. I noticed it a couple days ago (after we came back) where after about 6 hours, I was down to 40%. Normally after a full day's usage I am still at ~80% by the time I get home from work. Since my phone had been running for weeks without a reboot, I decided to reboot it, thinking maybe I had some overzealous background processes running. It came back online with the battery indicator at 8% (down from 40% a minute prior)! After about 30mins or so, it began to go up, and settled around 14%. It stayed at this level for hours, until I plugged it in when I went to bed.
The next morning, same thing, it would lose 1-2% every few minutes until it got down to <10%, where I would get a warning about a low battery level. But once it hit that mark, it would stay there for hours and my phone would work perfectly fine.
As I mentioend above, I thought I read a similar story where the recommendation was to turn the phone off, charge it up all the way, and then turn it back on after it was fully charged. I tried that last night, but my phone is down to 87% after only 2 hours of non-use.
I've made sure that UV/OC'ing was disabled, that no background apps are doing anything weird, etc. And it's not like my battery is really dying quickly - it's just that Android thinks it is. I've checked the level using multiple programs, and all report the same incorrect information.
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to fix it? Thanks!
You have encountered two separate issues, one of which is widely documented (fuel gauge reaction to rebooting), one of which is unexpected but possible on UCKH7 (abnormal drain).
But it doesn't look like the battery is really draining that much quicker, only that it's showing that it is. For example, while it might take me only 3 hours to go from 100%-10%, I'll stay at 10% for hours.
It's like the battery is no longer calibrated properly.
Do you use Samsung original charger? If not, try. It should go away.
Take your battery out for a few minutes. The SG2 differs in that it uses a chip for battery calibration/stats. You need to cut power to it completely to reset it. Now, if it still does it afterward, either the battery is faulty, or the phone's ability to measure voltages is wonky.
Also, are you using the phone's Power Saving mode? Maybe the battery is dying but the phone is taking steps to make it last longer?

I used to never use my Samsung charger and never had issues. However, months of using my blackberry charger has rendered it now ineffective. The charger dongle was slightly smaller, and its continuous wiggling messed up my phone's power port slightly. It's a good thing that my Samsung charger still works.
When we were on vacation, I was using my wife's charger for her phone (T-Mobile G2x) so we didn't need to take two (seemingly) identical chargers with us. My understanding was that the pinout and voltage were all the same, so I didn't think it would matter. Maybe that had an impact?
Normally I use my Samsung charger, and have been since we got back.
I haven't tried removing the battery yet, since its in a hard shell case and was hoping I could resolve the issue without taking it apart. But I'll try that tonight.
Power saving mode is disabled. I've also disabled BT, Wi-Fi, GPS, and shut down every app. In the time since my first post (84%) and now, I'm down to 58%, and my phone has been sitting on my desk unused the entire time.
According to the built in battery monitor, Android OS accounts for 92% of battery usage, with Display at 3%, Cell Standby at 3% and Phone Idle at 2%.
As I mentioned above, I thought I read something about a 'trick' to reset the battery gauge by turning the phone off, charging it to 100%, unplugging it, and then turning it back on. Was I mistaken?

FYI - I just pulled the battery, let it sit for a minute, and plugged it back in.
Battery level went from 58% to 39% after it powered back on.
I'll try charging it again to see if it has any noticeable impact.
Oh, I did want to mention that I've been very religious when it comes to charging my phone properly and trying to "take care" of the battery. I never let it get below 20% (outside of recently due to the issue), I always charge it up to 100%, I never do quick "let me just charge it for 15 minutes to make a call" type charges, I always use a wall charger and not a car charger, etc.
Down to 38% during the time it took me to type this...

That to me sounds like you might have an app creating a wakelock and preventing it from going into deep sleep.

With the exception of high load immediately following a reset (which is why it goes funky on a low-battery reboot), it's basically impossible for the fuel gauge to go out of calibration. It's designed to continuously converge towards truth.
Check the raw battery voltage when it seems to be funny. If your voltage is consistently low, you might be experiencing a hardware failure (like maybe the battery's protection circuit is on its way out.)
After pulling the battery, putting it back in and recharging it, it seems to be working well now. Too early to say for sure, but I went the entire afternoon and evening (up until now) with some mild usage, and am only at 84%. So far so good!

The phone has a voltage drop which causes the drop from 58 to 39 when you reboot it. I'm not a fan of it either.
So got my S3 yesterday, installed some apps, etc. Throughout the day, battery life seemed respectable. Last night, I charged to 100% and let it sit overnight with nothing running. I woke up 7 hours later agreed and my battery was unfortunately at 81%.
1) The first problem (and this may be related to the battery standby usage) is that it claims I had No Signal and No Data Connection which was untrue.
2) The second problem is this "wlan_rx_wake" and "sec-batter-monitor" kept the phone awake.
Any ideas?
First impression for me is that this isn't an issue. I have sync off and update only when charging. Went to bed @95%, woke up it was 92%.
I did notice that it seemed to take a bit longer (than the One S)to get up to it's first full charge yesterday. This might have been my imagination though. It is a fairly large capacity battery.
From my experiences with new devices and even flashing new roms and updates. Give it a few days to cache and cycle. Then once the battery gets broke in you should be able to share your charging / discharging experience. I would rule it out as a hog yet.
This happened with my most recent firmware upgrade on my Asus transformer prime..Updated, drank juice, now after a week its better than ever.
Plus with everything you have on Bluetooth and such that can REALLY drain a phone..
I agree with discharge cycles and OS calibration but there shouldn't be wakelockers engaged.
Turned off WiFi, now there is a "deleted_wake_locks" under kernel wakelocks. What is that? Lost like 4% in 90 minutes of no use and "deleted_wake_locks" engaged the phone for 80+ minutes.
Does anybody know how long the notification light keeps blinking after getting a notification? I woke up in the morning and the light was blinking and had a text message from about 4 hours before the time I saw it. The blue LED was blinking. I hope it doesn't stay on until I see the notification since it's gotta use some of the battery.

That's pretty much the point of the LED - if it only lit up on arrival you'd have to be staring at the phone all of the time. But a flashing led like that should have a tiny impact on battery life.
there is a thread or two in the I9300 forum about cell standby, wireless wakelocks and battery drains. i was hoping i wouldn't hear about this with the US version but it looks like something similar is happening.

You have one bar in the picture.. is that the same place you left your phone overnight? Even if you have signal albeit low signal your phone gives the radio more power in an attempt to hold onto that signal. That could have something to do with it. Also, I guess wifI is holding a wakelock :/

another tip, when you get done charging it, reboot it.
me personaly, i charge my phone while im asleep, then unplug and reboot as im headed out the door in the am...
to me it seems smarter to start the day with a full tank than a partial one and wind up hunting for power later....
i have no complaints about battery life..i have been on the same charge for 15 hours with light phone calls, heavy texting and web surfing, and my battery is still at 36% and this is only after my first charge cycle so i am guessing it will only get better after a few more cycles
After a few days with my SIII, I can say that the battery life is not quite as good as the One S I had briefly. It is however way better than the G2x, Evo, Indulge, and Sensation.
I will be getting at least one spare battery. I did not like having a captive battery in the one S. Keeping and using spares is not an issue for me.

It happened 2 or 3 times, when I plugged the USB cable to the phone (other end connected to a PC or charger) and the phone LED immediately turned green and the battery indicator jumped from 60% to 100%.
Nothing happens if I re-plug the charging cable, the phone keeps saying it's fully charged. Even powering off doesn't help.
The 100% power won't drain faster but I noticed that when it goes to 30% the phone will shutdown because no more juice is inside the battery and the indicator will go back to less than 10% after re-plugging the power cord.

But for me,the story is different,unfortunately!
another Q has been busy in my mind. Why sony didn't used a better charger for this phone?! Charger has only 1.5 mA output power! For test, i am charging the phone now with s IV charger (2mA)

Higher mA output is not necessarily better.
Taking more time to charge is more gentler on your battery.
Pumping up the mAh to 2 or higher will improve the charging time, but the number of total cycle charges (i.e. life span of your battery) will go down and suffer.
Anyway, 3 hrs from empty to full is normal, right? Anything quicker is a quickcharger.

Ok.no problem dude.3 hours is good time charge for me,but i have another issue that is explained to you.my battery is falling down suddenly!i don't know what is caused for this behavior.see picture in this post!this is a normal drain after a couple of hours.but after one or more hours that is falling down suddenly to 40%! Without any usage.

Good thing you included screenshots from GSAM, so that we have something to go on now.

This tells me that you once had a phone that was efficient, so from the day you realised this drop in performance, scrutinize what settings have changed (inc app installation)

IF u continue using your device in the way you have done in the last 15 mins, you have under 6 hours left of battery power.
In the 15% discharge since fully charged (and since when GSAM started taking this data on your screenshot), 62.9% of power was used by screen.
Some conclusions can be drawn here.
As you mention, you were probably playing some games during the 4hrs and 11min the phone was turned on(from when it was fully charged and then unplugged), very likely during the latter stages than earlier from when the phone was fully charged.
I see your screen is set on DIM, and that it has been active for nearly one hour. Your display was on for 25% of the time since full charge, and that has only used up 15% of battery.
Whether it is games or video playback, screen will be on, and looking at the data there is nothing faulty. In another words, set at dim, 7 hours or so of continuous display on sounds about right..(1 hr already used plus 5:47 expected left)
Now, if your complaint is that if you turned your phone screen off and left it that way for a few hours, came back, then found massive power drain, again, a few conclusions can be taken.
It is a shame there is no screenshot of the app usage form the exact same period. But, If you left the game app open in the background, it is possible that power is drawn still, possibly if your phone is not sleeping properly. In another words, CPU usage for game is there even when not used.
Do you have stamina mode on?
Conclusion... Form GSAM data, there is nothing wrong.

If your phone felt hot at that time, it confirms CPU usage.In another words something was left open. If it was cold, even though the phone had been off for a while, then it could be faulty battery calibration.
And next time you see this big drop in charge, take screen shots of GSAM from apps and system. We would know then for sure.

Fortunately,that horrible battery drainage don't happened from yesterday to now.
This means there is no faulty behavior after last full charge that i have been!
I don't know that reason but i done some actions after fully charged phone yestarday:
1.instilling Gsam battery pro as you have seen!
2.Charging with another charger(2mA galaxy s4 charger)
3.setting screen brightness to 30%
4.setting off "optimized backlight"
5.battery calibration with "battery calibration" app
This new informations from my battery behavior after 19 hours fully charged at last day from now and i hope that horrible drainage wouldn't happen in future else!
