[Q] Recovering my Viewsonic G Tab - G Tablet Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

I am trying to recover my viewsonic g tablet back to factory. I installed the tnt 1.1 package. I then made a command file in the recovery folder. I have clockworkmod installed. I tried to install the update package and I come up with this error:
E: Can't open/sdcard/update.zip
(No such file or directory)
Installations aborted.
I would appreciate anyone that can help me with this issue to unbrick my tab.

Are both the recovery folder and update.zip on the root of the sdcard?

Not flashing correctly
I tried using the instructions you sent me. I get the driver installed ok the APX or Nvidia Boot recovery driver but when I try to the flash the script it says file can not be found.

Yea they were both on there.

[Q] Flashing Rom, No signature error

Im downloading the rom, right clicking it, then zipping. I then used adb to push the rom onto my sdcard. I do the wipe but when i flash my rom it tells me.....
E:No Signature (1444)
E: No verification
Any ideas? Im also using a mac if that makes a difference
If you download the rom you don't need to zip or unzip it. Just put it straight on the SD.
You're removing the "signature" that emulates HTC's rom.

[Q] Reinstall Package Problem

I installed the update zip to what I THINK is the internal hardrive. I see a folder that says exteranl but not one that says internal hardrive. But when im in recovery system and i click reinstall packages this pops up
E:failed to open /mt/internal_sd/update.zip (such file or directory)
E: signature verification failed
Installation aborted
How can i fix this

get the update.zip from there ??
either get rom manager and flash clockwork then go to recovery and reinstall packages twice or get the update.zip from the link above and reinstall packages twice and that'll take you to clockwork recovery
you sound like you have stock froyo - which means you have the 3E stock recovery.
I suggest following my guide (signature - noobs).
EDIT - ha, just realize Kyle already linked to it, thanks man.

[Q] Missing file /system/app/Galaxy4.odex - cannot run system update

Hello everyone.
It seems my transformer prime is missing an odex file and cannot run the new system update.
I have tried factory reset and everything now i can think of, nothing helped.
How the file has even got missing is beyond me, but the device is rooted and i have OTA rootkeeper and titanium backup.
the file it says is missing is the Galaxy4.odex, located in /system/app/
the error_log from failed update state:
Code:
failed to stat "/system/app/galaxy4.odex": No such file or directory.
file "/system/app/galaxy4.odex" does not have any of the expected sha1 sums; checking cache
failed to load cashe file
script aborted: assert failed: apply patch:check("/system/app/Galaxy4.odex", ---list of numbers---, --list of numbers--not the same")
E:Error in /cache/dlpkgfile
(Status 7)
Installation Aborted
I:result code 410
Does anyone have an idea how i can restore this file to do the update?, or can make some kind of copy /backup that i can install of this file?
All help appreciated!
Silverdream
FYI:
I have WW_epad-9.4.2.14-20120214

Do you have a root file manager of some sort, if so, check if that file is:
A) Actually present
B) Has the correct permissions
I do have that odex file on my computer from a system dump that I did at some point, but I honestly can't be sure which version it is.
You could of course download the full update from ASUS website and run it from external SDcard. Search the forum, you should find the exact method of doing this fairly easily.
You could also try to update to .15 first from ASUS website and then do the .21 update. WW versions are present in the download section of the TF201 minisite.
I hope one of these suggestions is of use to you.
Thanks for reply.
I tried most of those, before you wrote it, It just did not want to update when missing files. Then i figured out to hell with it, installed the bootload enabler and a new custom .21 ROM instead.
Bricked once, but now it seems just fine

Need help recovering/flashing HTC Desire 601

I am just trying to root my HTC Desire 601 (don't care what android version it has - I just need a rooted phone for testing) - but not been having much luck so far.
I have unlocked the bootloader via HTC, and that all seemed to go fine.
The first guide I found said to use the "philz_touch_6.19.3-zara.zip" recovery. The links were dead but I found a copy, and it seemed to install (I could enter recovery), but had lots of mount errors.
I then wasn't able to install any the superSU images that the guides suggested - I got various different errors.
I then tried TWRP (https://forum.xda-developers.com/de...recovery-twrp-2-8-0-0-touch-recovery-t2874948). Once again, I could enter recovery.
But somewhere along the line I seem to have corrupted the OS - as I can only boot into the bootloader now. So I have now tried to install a system image - namely, the one described at:
https://forum.xda-developers.com/desire-601/orig-development/test-builds-cyanogenmod-12-t3041646
But the link didn't work, but I seem to have found it here:
https://www.androidfilehost.com/?fid=95916177934534985
(the filename seems to match quite well)
But when I try to install it, I just get various mount errors:
mount: failed to mount /dev/block/platform/msm_sdcc.1/by-name/system at /system: No such file or directory
...
and so on
and finally:
E:Error executing updater binary in zip '/external_sd/...'
Anyone have any ideas?
