thanks for the replies,
I have used power amp., its good, but i think the stock earphone is not that good.
how does soundmagic pl 30 or pl21 compare to the stock?
i am looking for good and rich bass.
suggest me some nice ones (not so expensive)
I know this is not the section to ask questions about earphones but still couldnt resist.

I noticed a strange thing with my phone this week after charging the battery: Yesterday, I charged the battery fully and then used the phone for about 12 hours before I switched it off for the night. Today I started it and had it on for about seven hours. When I check battery usage, it showed only the current seven hours. It appears to have "forgotten" that it had been running throughout 12 hours yesterday.
I switched it off for about an hour today and started it up again to test and now the seven hours are there and it behaves normally. This I have noticed the last two times I charged the battery. The phone "forgets" the first post-charge use but goes on to work perfectly after that. I do not experience this as an issue directly because I think the battery life is very good and the phone works without problems, but I'm curious. Are there any of you Galaxy SII owners who noticed the same thing?

I find stock player +stock earphones excellent .
But i know nothing about music that requires extra treble or bass .

I am using Sennheiser CX 400 II, I think they are pretty good for the price (of course there are better). Using Power Amp bass and treble.

when i plug in my stock earphones and press the menu and navigate (using launcher pro) there is a digital noise in each operation (ex scroll through menu makes a noise also returning to home page makes a noise)
is it the problem with firmware or phone? or is it completely normal?
however these are not audible when the music is playing at the background.
baseband version i9100ddke2 and build number is wxke8.
Sorry for asking so many questions, I am new to android.
Hope u guys dont mind., thanks in advance.

As long as you don't go with something like "OH GOD HELP MY PHONE WILL DIE!!!!How do I use the camera?PLEASE HELP!" no,we don't mind. You're cool till now.
Well, that is probably something with the magnetic shielding of the phone or the earphones. Are you holding the phone too close to the earphones?Electromagnetic waves affect the operation of speakers' magnets.Maybe try a different pair of earphones.
I would suggest AKG.They have some nice cheap models(Less than 10 euros) which are actually pretty good.I use a pair of those for when I'm on the go(I have some 70 euro AKGs at home ) and the sound is spot on.Rich bass too.

[Q] In-Call headphone volume problem with Galaxy S2

Hello, I've bought Galaxy S2 this month and already got it rooted, now I've played with it, before anything, it worked ok, yes the volume wasn't tip top on my headset (Just headphones from audiotechnics), but it was at least bare-able.
now I've played with some settings it told me to go to service mode and change some settings, now I don't know what I've changed exactly but now things are much worse, and I don't even think this is somehow related to the service mode.
I've looked everywhere, tried everything, from equalizers to volume hacks, nothing worked.
What I can tell you is that for SOME reason, I've got LOTS of different headsets + bluetooth, and at one point when I installed... which I think is actually what did the thing is that when I installed CM7.1 which just destroyed it, even just volume on media playback.
So to cut things short, I've tried several headphones and figured out that the headset that comes with the galaxy s2 works just fine, and it makes me think that this issue is somehow related to the many headset profiles I have. But the real question is how do I fix it?!
Any help on the issue would make me smile, because for now, I have to talk regularly or via samsung headset.
Thank you.
Welcome to the low volume world of Galaxy S2. You probably didn't destroyed anything, the headphone volume output is ridiculously low. I have tried many different headphones from stock Samsung, to Sony noise cancelling to Sennheiser top of the world noise cancelling and the volume is still not enough. The best sound I get is from Sony noise cancelling headphones ( don't know the model number, they are around $60.00 in US). The service settings do nothing, they come back to original after one or two phone calls or when you re boot the phone. Are you running 2.3.5? I am reading on this site that the volume is set higher in that firmware. I am on stock 2.3.4. Applications like volume + don't really work, it crashes a lot and doesn't work for phone calls anyway.
Thanks for the feedback mate,
I'm on lite'ning rom right now, it fixed the music volume thing, because that also was a problem after installing cyanogenmod, I guess only time will tell.
Battery life, well I hope with power saving mode it will be better also, but still, I'm used to my iphone, talking through normal headphones
So there's nothing to do but wait?
Try volume + program.. less you raise headphones and speaker volumes on sgsii . Don't know what you are doing but it has never crashed once on mine. You set it and forget it, it doesn't even run all the time

[Q] Parrot Zik Bluetooth very slow

Hi
I have just bought the Parrot Ziks, (gosh are they expensive :s)
However i have noticed that the bluetooth functions take a very long time to take affect.
For example, when I pause the music it what feels like a long time to actually pause the music.
Is there a way of speeding it up from the phone?
**EDIT**
btw. I'm using PowerAmp
Sorry I can't give you an answer yet!!. I ordered mine today. Can you give any comments on the headphones as a whole? Particularly sojnd quality, the weight and comfort. Thanks.
And they were expensive!! A birthday present so I got lucky.
the headphones themselves are awesome. the sound quality is superb and they feel very comfortable..
even after hours of listening my ears don't hurt, which is my problem with on-ears headphones.
battery life lasts me about 12h which is more than enough to get me through 3 days of listening (way to work and back)
i hope you'll find them as good as I do..
have fun

So I got my pair of Ziks yesterday. Truly amazing headphones. I can honestly say that the sensors are working great for me and the reaction time for pausing, skipping songs, volume up and down are virtually instantaneous for me.
It did take 30 seconds for them to connect to my phone. Which was a while compared to the first time which was like 2 seconds.
All in all.. I am beyond satisfied and with the purchase. Viper sound mod and all the studio irs settings just make these sound even better!!
Btw.. Thanks for the feedback!!

Another question for you, have you charged these using a car phone charger or anything other than the pc usb?

[Q] Top speaker quality in viber

Hi,
I was using my old Galaxy s3 to call & txt fiance using viber in states, now that I have sold it to mazuma mobile I have used viber to call her for the first time on my z2 & I could barely hear her at all on the top speaker & had to put phone on speaker phone just to hear her , normal call quality is pretty good on mobile calls, volume was up full. She could barely hear me as well, I turned off noise cancellation in call settings & she could hear me a bit better but said it was still quiet.
Just wondered if anyone else has experienced this?
Cheers.
Have you tried moving the phone around on your ear? Sounds silly, but because of the placement of the speakers, its not as natural as other phones i've used imo (or maybe its how tall the phone is). I found the same issue at first, then i moved the phone around on my ear until the speaker and my ear lined up right and the sound was normal.
Yeah mate, moving the phone around my ear was first thing I tried, I don't have issues with normal calls but speaking to her on viber it's almost like the speaker volume is set really low & I could barely hear her at all, since I call her in the early hours I would rather not have to put the call on speaker phone.

Ah okay. I did a quick google search and it looks like its hit or miss for some devices, so it might be on their end. This thread has a Viber rep responding in it to the same problem, or at least a couple months ago he was(no real solution, other than reporting it).
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2307492
Also there's an app suggestion in there that a member says helped, and another one would be master volume (i think thats the name). I don't really use Viber, so i'm not much help other than that.
Cheers again for the reply mate, have checked that thread out & also posted in it hoping they will still be checking it, checked the apps mentioned in play store & most haven't been updated since 2011, I do think the issue is like you say more on Viber's end as the volume was fine on my now sold Galaxy S3.
Might have to check out Line or similar apps & get her to do the same as Viber is almost unusable due to this, connection quality was excellent all through the call so I think Viber just need to update or optimise it for the Z2.
Same problem man, here is a fix that worked for me, note 3 international version:

A few issues with new device. Are they normal?

Hey guys. This is the first device I've owned since the Galaxy Note 2, which was a great device in my opinion. I just got the z2 after extensive searching for a new phone. I couldn't decide between the m8 the z2 and the lumia 930. As photography was important for me I decided on this phone.
Anyways, I just got my phone today and I immediately noticed some oddities and I'd like to know if they're normal or if I should just return it for another. This is batch 14w28, so that means it was made in July.
The first is the volume for notifications... I can't hear them if I'm not paying attention to my phone! The volume is really low. I went into the options and raised the volume all the way up and still the same thing even though it's better. Very low
Build quality is good, but with the volume at max and using speakerphone or music or anything, I can feel the inside of the phone resonate or the sound moving around in there. Very awkward to be honest.
Phone quality. I hear a tinny sound in the background when someone speaks through the ear piece... Is this normal?
I love this device! It's gorgeous and runs very quickly! I'm very happy to get rid of Samsung for a while. Their devices were too cartoony, and I've had a lot of Samsung decides!
Well, please let me know. Thank you very much. Kind regards.
I've searched around and found these issues separately... But all together, is this normal?

Regarding Low notification volume: I believe only one speaker is utilized for notifications on stock ROM. There are mods available to both boost the volume as well as activate both speakers for notifications. Very simple too, just look on the first page of the Android Development section, or click here.
Regarding resonating and tinny sound: I do not experience this at all. My phone actually sounds quite nice playing back music through the speakers. I think you might want to have that looked at, but first try this: Go to Settings > Sound > Sound effects > Enable ClearAudio+

Thank you very much for your reply. I'm going to enable the option you mentioned... For example, playing music I put my finger to the right of the NFC icon and I can feel the vibrations within the phone. Is that normal?
In regards to the notification sounds, I don't know. I'll see how it develops. Thank you for your reply, really.
Also enable Dynamic normaliser in the sound settings can increase volume a bit. Also check out viper for android from here It's an awesome app m8:good:
I'll try a call again in a few. I changed a few other options. Let's see how it works! Because sound in a voice call sounds weird. But through speakerphone it all sounds great. I found the option for xloud and it worked and now it's tolerable. Thanks for your reply. ?
Well just in case someone is interested, Amazon is sending me a new device and taking back this one. Let's see if it still has the same voice quality! I'll report back. ?
Well, I had a second one... It squeaked next to the sony logo ... I felt like I was going to crush it every time I was on the phone.
Third one came, thought it was perfect. I hold it to make calls, all is fine. I let go to make calls and hold it with my head and shoulder while I type out a message or wash my hands or whatever... "Kent... KENT!? Hello!? Are you there?" it apparently makes a noise like it's hanging up or static...
I don't know if I'm going to ask for a 4th phone. Sony has some serious problems. 2 of these 3 phones were W19, the other W29 (or 28, I don't remember). Amazon said to wait until they're out of stock to get devices from a different batch... Arg...

Help | phone ear speaker

Hey, I have a mate 10 pro c432 v148.
Last weekend I decided to go to the water with the phone as it is supposed to be waterproof (not submerged just a few splashes).
Since then the phone was working normally except for one thing, the ear speaker suddenly outputs the sound at a very low volume (it's there just barely ear able).
Is there anything I can try to do to fix it? It doesn't seem like corrosion to me since it's still working..

There's an app on the play store called unclog your speaker.
Activate stereo+ , place the phone horizontally when u enter the app and run it for couple mins.
If your device is rooted then do this : https://forum.xda-developers.com/mate-10/themes/audio-mod-root-t3706954 and run the same app I mentioned before ( Be careful not to dmg your earphone speaker with this mod ! I have no idea how long can u run it maxed out with this mod and frankly I'm not interested in testing it on my own device lol ) - it should provide better results and the speaker experience is much more enjoyable with it.

The application solved the charity of the sound so I can understand the words, but the strength didn't change. I'm a bit afraid putting those mods on :/ wondering if the speaker membrane still has water on it even though 3 days have passed.
Thanks anyway

Yw, as for the mod I'd suggest at least using it without pushing the speakers.
As to why is it so quiet?
Idk, is it quiet enough that you can't make phone calls?
It should be working alright after a splash ( Unless u power hosed it ... ) so it might be just ur imagination.
Earphone speaker is pretty quiet, I was tweaking the mod 2day so I took the time to revert back to stock and it can't even be compared...
You have 2 options so far - Follow the guide I sent you or send it to the service.
The file from that guide should at least bring your speaker back to normal.
I guess I totally got used to it that I forgot how bad the Huawei implementation is.
You might run into issues while doing this like I have with the latest twrp.
Lemme know if you need some help! :good:
