Q: any aosp themes? - Thunderbolt Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Any that work with gingerbread (non cm7)?
Just looked through a lot of threads and didn't see anything..

Check the market. DL, install, use theme Chooser app. A lot of options that all work even though they say something about T-Mobile.

If you are using ADW then do a search in the market for ADW and tons of themes should come up. Not sure if you will find an AOSP theme or not but you can make it look 99% like CM7 without any themes(that's what I did because I LOVE CM7 but too many issues on Alpha for me).

I'm no developer but I believe a ROM has to be used for that part due to framework files probably varying greatly between different devices.

Market has themes for cm7. There is an app built into cm7 called theme switcher that allows you to pick and choose downloaded themes to apply to your cm7. It changes your noti bar too. Search cm7 themes in the market and there will be a whole list of them.
If not looking for cm7 themes then there isn't a whole lot. Very easy to make. Main img files are in framework-res.apk and systemui.apk, which are in your system/app folder. Download gimp for your computer, pull the files, and your ready to start editing

I'm using gingeritis right now... I switch often tho. I like the way total stock aosp looks.. like the droid series.
Especially no bat percentage! I find myself really ocd'ing about bat usage when I see the percent.. So much so that my fiancé complains about my *****ing about bat life!

Newest update... Nearly a full theme.. This is a ninja morph file... Backup your android themes workspace folder first.. Replace this with your workspace folder and finish each project individually with ninja morph..
Unzip and put in android themes folder in root of internal..
Open ninja and click finish..
Choose each apk
Flash framework last and twframework right before..
Reboot
This is for the newest froyo release.. I dont have a comp so this is the easiest way to upload with out having to edit the theme control file..

If you want the icons to be fully replaced even in the app drawer, search google for apk manager. Read up on how to use it. It will allow you to extract (you do not need to decompile it for this job), replace the icon in the res/drawable or res/drawable-hdpi folder, then rezip the apk then resign it. Once you do that you either use adb push or root explorer to put the apk wherever its supposed to go. If its a system app it goes in system/app if its regular it goes in data/app

[THEME] !~Perfect Honeycomb~! *UPDATED 5/3/2011*

this is just something i did by accident and i don't make themes or anything but this looks amazing so i had to share. i first flashed honeyglow and then i flashed the honycomb theme by haxzamatic overtop of honeyglow. this gives you the glowing icons in settings menu, themed marketplace from honeyglow ect. but gives you the awesome notification icons, signal, battery ect. from haxzamatics theme. it's a great mix of both themes that just happened to work out perfectly. please try this and let me know what you think.

i recommend downloading launcherpro from the market and not using the included apk that is included in with the theme files. so i am guessing that you want to change the dock background and the icons on the dock. assuming you copied the honycomb icon folders from both themes to your SD card, go to launcherpro preferences>apperance>dock background>custom, that will open up your gallery and the dock will be there. to set the icons after you long press on the dock on your homescreen and select change icon>custom and again it will open your gallery and you can select your icon, hope this helps!

Browser.apk w/ Gingerbread icon
Here is Browser.apk that has the Gingerbread style icon. I found this inside of a Gingerbread theme by ZDuneX25. I haven't tested this theme on Utopia, also, his XML link is down. But fishears' xml should work ok. Also includes black theme for context menus. Maybe worth a look. As with any system APK, backup the original Browser.apk from system/app, copy over the new one and set rw-r--r-- permissions.
EDIT: DONT USE THIS. CAUSES CRASH ON COM.ANDROID.BROWSER.
^^Very strange....
I corrected the headphones icon for the notification bar. Startpost has the new link.
