(REQ) Desk Clock app from Froyo

Could't find anything useful in market, and Desk Clock from Nexus works exactly as it supposed to and its very nice. When app is running and charger is plugged, Desk Clock disables screen timeout and you get a great Clock at your desk. I suppose using some other app, you can enable it to run automatically when charger is plugged.
Nice thanks

Like any other apk, use some file manager, most people prefer root explorer in market

I think it FC because it is set up to work with stock music app, not the Samsung one, if you want Eugene has a ROM that has the stock music and stock clock that is in this thread, if you replace the Samsung music apk with the stock android one, it should cure your FC issues. Just download his ROM, pull the app and install, if that doesn't work, use root explorer and remover Samsung one, and replace with stock android.

So what's this thread for? You ask if mediaserver is using your battery in the title, then post that you don't use mediaserver!

When i check the battery manager, it always shows that "mediaserver" is taking up like 25 percent of my battery drain. I can even force close it.

Make sure any apps which use mediaserver are actually turned off after use. Just exiting out of them may not stop them running in the background.

Chinese notification

I hope somebody can give me some advice on this cos it's driving me potty, I keep getting notifications on my phone and they are in chinese (see screenshots), clearing them is no problem but I'd like to know if there's any way of blocking them, it's not a text or email, just a notification and a little picture of a star at the top of my screen, any suggestions welcomed thanks

The notification appears because you have installed an app with airpush advertisements in your phone.
Install this and do a scan on your phone: https://play.google.com/store/apps/...DEsImNvbS5icm9zbWlrZS5haXJwdXNoZGV0ZWN0b3IiXQ..
Then uninstall the aplication that came out with the result and rate developer with 1 star on google play. (this usually gets the developer to react, if alot of 1 star ratings are received)

Try "addons detector". However that's not a generic ad so it may not detect anything. You just have to go through your recent installed apps and running processes to figure out which app is the culprit.

Have you installed any apps recently right before you started getting the chinese notifications? That would probably be the culprit. I would start uninstalling recent apps and that might solve your issue

when you get the notification Spam don't remove it yet:
Settings > under system tap on {} Developer options > check USB Debugging
connect the phone using a usb to your computer
open adb shell
Code:
adb shell dumpsys notification
copy the output and save it to a text file, post it here
i'll tell you which app is spaming.
I FIXED MINE!!
the KEY: notification monitor function in addons detector
leave it on and wait a day or so till you get the notification
I used to get bunch of Chinese ads
addon detector showed me exactly which program caused it
it was a hacked version of game I have downloaded... got rid of it and the ad was gone...
thanks guys
