Update 22nd June 2011
Ebuyer now put price up to £199.99 WTF
the price is still a bit steep for early adopters who missed the asus keyboard offer in April....
... it certainly is steep - BUT i got mine at the weekend - it arrived from dabs.com (also 99 quid) -after waiting 3 weeks for stock to come in.... it is awesome - totally changes how I can use it. Really great. There was a firmware upgrade as soon as I first used it which I've seen discussed on other threads.
I just need to find a decent folio case for the whole thing now . . .

yeah..agree the kb dock itself is awesome..and should be a must have for most TF owners....
the battery in the dock really makes it a life changer..
not really complaining about its price...it's probably the only thing that's priced close to its US version...was hoping asus can extend its early adopter offer a bit though..
I wouldnt pay that much for it tbh, lucky i got mine originally from asus at the offer price but sold mine as apart from the extra juice it didnt suit my needs after using the tablet for a while but it is a clever way of making it hybrid.
but thinking about it when the asus case costs 39.99 retail with pdair cases going for £60, yiou do get a lot for your money and it does not seem that bad of value
I got mine separately because I wanted the 32 Gig version which isn't offered as a bundle with keyboard which is odd to say the least.
As you say the battery life now truly incredible.
Just got my dock on order with ebuyer.
Do you get a separate psu for the dock?

How to pruchase a keyboard dock from the UK to Spain
I wonder if any of you lads in the UK can help me: I live in Barcelona , Spain and I ordered my TF101 from the USA, I will get it in some days. In the online store they weren't offering the keyboard Dock , and I have tried to order it within Spain but it seems here they only sell it bundled with the tablet (16 gb or 32 gb). So far I haven't been able to find a shop (offline or online) that sells them separately, I have been looking into the ones you mention here from the UK but so far they all serve UK residents only. On ebay there are only a few merchants offering it but far too pricey (the cheapest is around 140 pounds (besides with English/Chinese keyboard layout), I would like one with either English or Spanish layout, so buying one from the UK would be just as good. Can anyone suggests me an online shop in the UK that delivers to continental Europe? (apart from ebay and Amazon of course)
Many thanks in advance!
You could try Dabs.ie, they have some on order at the moment but should be the European arm of Uk based Dabs.com.

Thanks, but that is only for Irish customers, I found out they only serve UK and Ireland. But thanks anyway for answering!
Just checked ebuyer and they have 9 left but put 100 pound on the price. I bought mine for 99 pound on tuesday night and they are now 199 pound. What a scam unless it is a typo

EDIT: If you choose Somewhere else please list it in the thread. Thanks!
I've voted under Play.com - but order went through at full price of £349
don't know whether they are now sold out at full price
and don't know whether I'd be able to argue them down to reduced price once it arrives, or whether I'll have to return it.

Today I got my 32Gb for £115 inc VAT through work. Luckily for me I work for a Trade Only IT disti. It's coming on the lorry Thursday, with a hundred or so others for all the guys and gals here (at the office). TouchPad's will outnumber iPads here
Looking forward to this...

Yeah I know . I've been playing around with it for 30 minutes and it's a steal at this price. Not worth £350 though. I heard HP were getting another batch in, so I'd be surprised if everyone who wanted one didn't get one. The IPS panel really is beautiful.
Hope you all get one soon.

Staples uk has dispatched mine.
Mine shipped from Amazon themselves this afternoon. It`s a 32Gb one and still at £429.99 so might yet go back. Was ordered 10.30pm Monday got a "We know about the pricing. You`ll have to wait and see in 3-5 days for an answer."

happy enough to say I (almost) have one now from play.com - after the mega headache of 'wont drop the price' saga.

Hey guys, I saw this posted over on SlickDeals and didn't see it posted on XDA. Figured I'd post it here in case anyone is interested.
Buy.com has the 16GB Flyer for $199.99 with free shipping. It is a refurbished unit, so hopefully everything works properly. I'm not sure about international shipping charges, I imagine it is only free to the US (could be wrong though).
I jumped on the View 4G sale a month ago for $230~ so this seems like a pretty good deal. Maybe we'll see a surge in the forums with these recent firesales.
I'm really considering getting one. Not really sure how long the sale is for. I might return my galaxy tab 7 plus and pick this baby up. I am just worried we won't get ICS for it.

I bought one of these yesterday at 6pm, paid for 2 day shipping and it arrived today at 2pm - 20 hours!!!
It looks great, like I just took it out of the original wrapper. I tried it for a few minutes, then upgraded (I guess that's debatable) to honeycomb. It's leedroid version, so I suppose it should be pretty good.
Now this is the first thread I read in the general section... what ever happened to the days when I would read for days on how to root a new system
I ordered one also. Should be here today with the "cheap" shipping option. Glad to hear the refurbished ones look like new.
So I've been thinking of buying one, do you guys think it's worth it or wait for the Asus 7" tab to come out?
Sent from my GT-P7510
Never know when the Asus tab will come out.
If you want something now, grab this. I played with the wimax version of the flyer in the sprint store, it's really nice.
I'm not banking on the flyer/view getting ICS at all though. I'm just going to use it for what it is.
Will the Asus Tab have an active digitizer? I have read conflicting versions about this.

Purchased $199 Flyer Arrived Today - NO PEN
Did you all get the pen that comes with the tablet from buy.com? Mine did not and I wanted to check to see if it was not included or just missing?! Thanks
I also picked one up for 189. I really hope to get some use out of this at work. I want to replace a ton of paper I generate travelling around from mtg to mtg. I really don't understand why there aren't more pen based tablets out there. If this doesn't work, for 189, I'll just give it to one of my kids to draw on /watch videos.
Based on slick deals advice I got a pen at b&h for $30 shipped. Its a one button model (I have ho idea what that means yet) arrived in a day. Item number FUFPCPN36AP

I'm on a flight to the states, just about to take off. Had intended to get TP in USA, but having read this forum, it seems the ones in the UK have less issues. Is this correct? I have a stop over in London and could try to pick one up in duty free...
Is there even a difference? The biggest advantage would be that a UK model would come with a 3 pin plug.

I don't know....seems like I remember reading about a UK guy that had 8 returns....But I think that the best thing would be to get it in the country that you live....that way you're sure there are no "unforseen" problems, like DRM liscensing, etc.
Bob
Hell, I'd get it in the states, dollar < Euro/£
Keep in mind though, the wifi channels for the wireless adapter stop at 11 in the states. Also, I'd tun it on in the store where you get it, make sure everything is OK with it in case you have to return, you can do it on the spot.

7 returns, me. I would recommend buying one in YOUR country, and from the shop with good refund policy. You could in theory buy one in duty free and check it there and then, the but if it's Dixon Travel, and I believe they are the only ones selling this sort of tech, you can only return it to normal store not duty free, at least that's what I've been told by one of their staff. Good luck.

You will pay about 40% more in England. All consumer electronics are a lot higher.
IMO a subjective non validated improvement is not worth the premium. Not to mention if you have issues with the device and need to have fixed or returned.
in England, it comes bundled with the keyboard dock. You cantt buy the tab on itss own.
None available in the airport, just ipads, acer and a Samsung 10.1" but they had no model information... I'll get it in the States.

Whilst this is often true, to be fair to Asus the price they are charging the UK for the Prime+Dock bundle is pretty much the same as the total cost for the two in the US if you factor out the 20% VAT we pay in the UK and convert to USD at 1.5$ to the £.

I took a walk around Chicago last night and didn't find a shop that sells tablets. What shops stock the TP? There is a Best Buy a couple of miles away, should I try there? It's times like this when Google Maps is your friend...
Best Buy or Staples might be your best bet for finding one in a big box store. Also, Best Buy has their satellite stores (Best Buy Mobile) in malls and what not that you may want to try. I was just in one yesterday and they at least had a floor model on display (not sure if they actually had any in stock though)
Was just in best buy. They had a display model but no stock - they only recieved 2. I met a nice gentleman who informed me that they are sold out across Chicago and there are none to be had. He did mention a store called AJ G.... But I can't remember the name of them.
Probably HHGregg is what you are looking for. I checked their stock for Chicago area and it shows none available but here is the link.

That's interesting, I know my local Best Buy only received 2 as well. I actually bought one and then returned it when my Champagne pre-order came in.
Order from US Amazon.com, and have them next day or 2 day it to your hotel.... if they will ship to hotels??? Guess just put the hotel address, and in care of yourself. If something is wrong with it and needs to be returned before you leave, they pay for return shipping.

Tried to order one via Amazon, but they have none, except for non Amazon traders who are looking for a fortune...
Gonna look into ordering it via Amazon UK and getting it delivered to a friend in London (i'll be passing through next weekend) only trouble is the UK ones are all with keyboard, so still very expensive.
Anyone want to suggest other options? Bear in mind I'm living in the middle east, and Amazon won't deliver there...
Also, what's the best colour? I used a purple one today, which was on display, I presume that is the one called grey ?

If you are a non-EU resident, you can claim the VAT back when you leave the country, which will save you about £80 bringing the cost down to the US level.

Hello
I've been looking at getting a tablet, and my choice has fallen upon this beauty, the Transformer Prime.
I only have 1 problem at the moment, and that is obtaining it.
I live in Denmark, where it's not for sale yet (earlier pre orders are mid April, and i don't want to wait 3 weeks to perhaps get a chance to get one before they're sold out). So I've tried looking elsewhere to purchase one.
I'm mainly interested in the 32gb version (or 64 if possible), preferably gold colored and of course including the dock keyboard
I've found this one so far:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Asus-EeePad...2ME4/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1332691285&sr=8-1
But was wondering if anyone else has some ideas where to find it cheaper / closer / better ?
If all goes well, I'm going to be ordering it one of the next few days
- Moon

I found this:

But it's only about 100 danish kroner cheaper than the one from the UK (4550 from UK, 4450 from germany), and the one from the UK is from Amazon, and this one is from some german website i haven't heard of before :/
If that is even the one you meant? I tried googling the word you linked and that was the first website on google, and i went from there.
Ty for the try though, very much appreciated
You can post links even if you don't have the post, you'll just have to add some spaces in the link and use stuff like "[DOT]" instead of "."

I bought mine at Amazon DE, you have 30 days to see if you like it or not.
Be aware that the dock/keyboard is German, meaning that some letters are not placed in same "position" as in the UK one.
If I was you, I would buy it at Amazon UK.
You do not pay shipping cost for the Prime.
I did not do that because at that time, Amazon DE was the first to have it in stock.

I was looking at Amazon DE aswell, but also saw they were using QWERTZ keyboard setup (I think that's the one?) instead of QWERTY as normal english (and also danish) keyboards.
I'm in the process of ordering the Prime off Amazon UK, just trying to find a nice case/sleeve for it as well, to protect it
If anyone has any tips on the case/sleeve, feel free to post them
I use the english and the danish... with the tablet undocked.
No problem here is very nice.
I found no problems with "languages" in using the German one in this case.
I am also Italian... so I actually have 3 languages to use.

Don't waste your time and risk your money on eBay. Expansys is already selling the LTE version for $700 including shipping. For another $35, they'll extend the warranty they provide from six to 18 months. (With their warranty, if Sony USA refuses to cover the device, Expansys will return it to the country from which it came, handle the warranty repair for you, and then return it to the USA once more.)

Good luck! All I can tell you is that I bought my HTC One X, my wife's HTC One X+ and my Xperia Z2 from them, and every one was a good experience. The One X+ was the only one where I had any problems at all -- I'd actually ordered a One S, but they couldn't source it and so after waiting a while, they offered me the much better One X+ at well below their retail price.
And for my Xperia Z2, I ordered the phone, two docks and headphones, then they contacted me to let me know I could save money by buying a new, unopened Z2 UK kit that a customer bought and returned without opening, with that specific kit including the headphones I'd bought separately. They actually saved me a good bit by doing so, when they could've just filled the order I had made and got more money out of me...
So yes, three good experiences and I'm very happy with them. Hopefully you will be too! I'm pretty certain once I can afford the Z4 Tablet, I'll be getting it from Expansys, unless somehow Sony USA miraculously sets a reasonable price for the tablet. (Last time around, I paid less to them for the phone, two docks, headphones, extended warranty and expedited shipping than I'd have paid to Sony USA for just the phone by itself.)
We'll see. Here's to hoping. I'm not overly concerned with the timeframe as much as I am just getting it.
Anyone know where I can get the Keyboard seperately? They never released the keyboard for the Z2 Tab Internationally so I'm going to use this. The only one I have found is this one: http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/301652441507?_trksid=p2055119.m1438.l2649&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT
But $288 AUD for a keyboard alone IS CRAZY. I was expecting to spend like $100...

You're not going to find it for $100 or even anything close to that. The keyboard alone, direct from Sony, costs 15,880 yen in Japan. That's the equivalent of AU$166 in their home market, and you've got to add the cost of international shipping PLUS a profit margin to make it worth their while for any company selling you one as a parallel import. I'd figure $220 is the absolute minimum you're going to find it for anywhere...
I bought at Clove - 482.50 GBP, but it bundles BKB50 Bluetooth Keyboard!
