Help plz.
I have SE Xperia X10 Mini and trying to set up stable wifi. I tried to use SE 2.1.1.A.0.6 and MiniCM6 ROMs with same results.
When wifi is connected to virtual access point(Connectify on Win7) connection drops constantly after 0.5-2 minutes. It reconnects after 10-20 seconds but wifi is quite useless.
When wifi is connected in ad hoc mode (on MiniCM6 ROM) all works fine, I was very happy first time, but phone goes to reboot after screen turns off.
I would be very grateful for any advice. I'm realy tired trying to config stable wifi connection...
It works with normal wifi router(D-Link DIR-300). So using Virtual Access point from Windows 7, Connectify and USB Wifi Adapter with Xperia X10 Mini is bad idea...
I run the CM7 (Android 2.3.3) on my X10 Mini Pro and try to connect WiFi to my D-Ling DIR-655 but the connection drops all the time and the network dissapears in the phone. Everything else seems to work fine except for the WiFi
well i have same problem i'm sing adhoc for daily and always getting reboot when the screen turns off thats happen in all custom rom ,i wanna try ad hoc in stock rom still didnt figure out how to do it.
Look at wifi settings and provacy policie, or reflash the rom and the problem will gone.

I upgraded my X10i to 2.1 and my Wifi is not working. I have confirmed that it is not the router etc. since the wifi works on my PC and my Wife's X10 mini pro.
When I turn on the wifi on my X10 it scans fine and finds my wireless router no problem. When I connect (using my WPA password) everything looks fine and the wireless indicator appears in the statusbar. HOWEVER, when I try to connect to the internet via the browser/market/facebook it returns a message saying NO NETWORK FOUND (no internet connection via wifi) !!
I have already tried -
*reset to factory settings
*reinstall of 2.1 via SEUS
*re-connecting to wireless router with WPA password.
Nothing works!!
Can anybody help?
Is there any way to reset the wifi on my phone?
hi, i had this problem after the upgrade, i changed to the name of my router and then it was fine. try that.
UPDATE - I can get the wireless connection on my X10 to work when it is not encrypted (ie with WEP, WPA etc.)
Now I really don't know what is going on....
Anybody out there to give some advice? pleeeeeeeeaaaase

try installing 1.6 and see if it's the fw or the phone
Sometimes try adding connection manually, then the wifi suddenly detects it from that point onwards..
After i upgraded the firmware to 2.1, my wifi just stops working. When i turn wifi function on, there is wifi logo appearing on the top of the screen and never detects any wifi access point. Anyone knows what is going on? Is that a bug of 2.1? as wifi was working fine with 1.6

I think the 1st time it needs a little push. Try turning WiFi off, back out of settings, back in turn on, go to wi-fi settings and manually select. That worked for me. Had similar with bluetooth.
I have the same issue with 2.1 upgrade and Wifi + WPA2 router protection!!
Wep protection works fine! but for me is not ok it is a weak wifi protection I need WPA2!

I read that wifi fixer may work however I cannot test it untill I reset my modem or switch to Wep....

Hi, I have connectify installed (bcz I've not router, only pci wifi card), but my phone reconnects every 30s-2 minutes. When I'm playing online or downloading, it's really annoying. It's doing on every rom, but when I installed CM7 I was able to connect to adhoc and it has never reconnected. Now I've installed CM9, which still hasn't adhoc support, so I'm wondering, how it's possible, thah Acces Point reconnects and adhoc no. Any solution (or adhoc solution for CM9 )?
fuc k yeah!! i have this problem too after i flash .42 from .62 fw using flashtool.
when i try to download gameloft games files which is often 100mb+ my wifi disconnects and reconnects itself which is annoying.
so can anyone fix this? although when i first bought my mini pro which is .42 originally installed doesnt have this problem.
My problem must be somwhere in that wifi card or PC, because other wifi networks don't reconnect. So now It's all about adhoc for CM9 (4.0.3).
Try an experiment. Install Virtual router, is free of charge, see if it continues to disconnect. If it happens just as likely the wi-fi card is to blame.
So it's the same with Virtual Router. But why is adhoc working great and AP not?
Hi. I have a problem with wifi. Internet on cable and wireless on laptop is working without any problems. But when I connect the phone (Sony Ericson Xperia X10i android) connection takes 2 or 3 minutes maximum. then gets disconnected and i can not connect to wifi either by phone, or the laptop. Wired internet can connect. Devices can detect wifi signal, but they cant connect. The problem is solved if i reset modem/router but again the same story appears when I try to connect the phone xperia to wifi. My phone somehow turned the router off. Sorry for my english. Please help!

How can be this be possible? The phone is actualy manipulating the router. It turns wifi off. Even another devices cannot access annymore. Thats really strange.
After upgrading to ICS 6.1.1.B.1.10 on my wife's new XPU had no issues except for the WIFI bug.
It refused to connect. So after a bit of trial and error here is the workaround I found and I am sharing just in case anyone else has the same issue.
1. Login to your WIFI router and change security to WEP with a shared key.
2. Set a key which is exactly 5 characters. a-z 0-9
3. Connect to wifi from your phone.
VIOLA!!! works. Its a major bug and sony should get this resolved soon.
But until then here is my simple workaround.
Switch router to b/g mode only (not n).
Use WPA2-PSK
--> Safer
Might as well not bother with security if you're using WEP.
Never had a single problem with my Xperia U and wifi on any firmware, using WPA2 and a 18 digit pass code.
I have never had wifi issues either, and my girl has an Xperia U too and same as me, perfect wi-fi.
Try to restart router if you can
My GF has the same problem, after the update to ICS (on the Xperia U) every time she tries to connect to WIFI it works for a few seconds and then it stops.
But that's not all, after that, nothing connects to the WIFI anymore, all active connections stop, the router sends data to LAN (wire) only,
I can't connect any device to the WIFI, I tried with my Galaxy S, Xperia S, even the laptop.
I have to restart the Router to have WiFi again.
Does anyone know a solution, except the dumb one to turn my router to b/g?
I have another router (old one WRT54GL) and it's not even working on this one. No connection, despite the fact that it's a b/g router.

Yeah, I flashed the C FW, works great so far.
Sorry if i missed something , but on every kitkat ROM , wifi drops after sometime.
i am using connectify to create wifi hotspot & it gets disconnected if i don't use it for few mins even though hotspot is active.
I have to restart the hot spot in order to re-connect. & no this isn't problem with connectify because this problem doesn't happens in Stock ROM ,
Any solutions ?
