[Q] Data network mode will not activate? - Galaxy S II Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

Hi all, I installed the lite'ning rom around 4 days ago but since yesterday I'm unable to activate data network mode? It's ticked under the settings and i've tried turning it on and off but it still doesn't come on. When I hold the power button it will say its activated but if I wait 30 seconds it switches to saying its deactivated? Is this a problem with the rom? Thanks.

Anyone? Driving me mad!

I've got the same problem on stock rom. Worked fine until now.

Nvm, I removed the switchpro widget from my homescreen but I had forgotten that I had disabled the data connection using that widget. I suppose it changes the apn settings etcetera.

[Q] Data connection stopped working!

Im just here chillin' and my Data Connection turns off. help?! How do I get it back up. packed data is already clicked in the wireless and connections tab
Put your phone in airplane mode and then back. My data did drop last night as well as my wifes for about an hour. Even with the airplane mode trick it didn't want to work
Yea do that or simply restart your mob.
A reboot should solve this.

[Q] XperiaP ICS Wifi always on ?

Hi,
Few weeks ago I rooted and update my new XperiaP to stock ICS (6.1.B.0.544) and everything was working just fine for some time.
Then one day I noticed that the Wifi doesn't work correctly - once connected to my home network it doesn't switch anymore to other
networks, Wifi switch doesn't work at all when I tap it moves to the OFF position but the icon on the status bar never disappears and when I
enter the menu again the Wifi switch is On. So I can switch to another network only after restart
After restart everything works fine...After that I noticed I have same problem with 3G - I can turn it ON only after restart otherwise even if the switch
shows it's on it actually isn't.
I don't have any exotic apps installed before that issue happened - the only think I remember I did was to activate 3G package from my provider.
Any Ideas or suggestions ?

S5 in moving train: phone.android.com force closes with airplanemode deactivating

Hi.
I was travelling by train last night and noticed something strange with the S5.
If I booted normally (with Airplane Mode OFF) I got connection.
If I activated Airplane Mode - no connection for battery saving.....
After deactivating Airplay Mode again (train was moving) I recieved a lot of phone.android.com force closes.
WHen the train stopped the S5 suddenly got connection and kept it for a while whilst driving.
Is it possible the S5 cannot connect so fast so the phone process hangs up when it switches to another cell?
DSC Connection fixer only works on WLAN, right?
Furthermore:
I dont have a tarrif with internet. So I deactivated WCDMA in the phone settings. (Set to GSM only)
Can you tell me if this is a good idea?
What is WCDMA exactly? Do I pay when the S5 uses it?
(I deactivated APNs with APN ON OFF either)

Click to collapse
Happened to me also. So ... shutdown the phone.
Remove sim card. Boot phone (wait 1 min after launcher appears)
Shutdown phone.
Insert sim card.
Boot and it should work properly.
That's it. I hope it works for you too.
Thank you for the answer.
Unfortunately I get this error more often now, not in train. It seems it is happening when the s5 has no good connection or is loosing connection.

[Q] Problem with WiFi and Mobile Data

Hello guys,
my problem relates to activating WiFi and/or mobile data on my phone.
First of all WiFi:
I'm used to enable it via status bar. But when clicked nothing happens but the symbol changing. When entering the WiFi settings through systemsettings WiFi is disabled. Enabling it there works fine, but is not what I would expect.
Before it worked fine.
Next problem.
When WiFi is enabled (it's most of the time when I'm at home) I disable mobile data (no matter if 2g or 3g). It runs over night till i leave home. Now when I want to enable mobile data, nothing happens. Even an analog work around described like above wouldn't work. The only way to get it working is to reboot the phone..
Any idea how to solve it?
My specs:
Samsung Galaxy S2 (int)
Kernel: Kernel_Siyah-Dorimanx-V9.10-[10-51]-[21-03]-JB-CM-AOKP-SGII-PWR-CORE
ROM: cm-10.1-20130321-NIGHTLY-i9100
Modem: I9100XXLS8
My fiancée and I got the same problem with the mobile data. I updated her phone with the latest nightly to be sure it's nothing that may have already been solved, so she got cm-10.1-20130320 nightly, I have yet to update from cm10, still running cm-10-20121209 nightly.
After turning on wifi or turning off mobile data (mobile data connection has to be interrupted) and leaving it off for a longer period of time, turning mobile data on again does not work. The button changes, the phone also reflects this in the data usage menu, the button is set to on, but nothing happens. Rebooting the phone then solves the problem, Mobile data can be turned on and off again for some time but leaving it turned off again will result in the same error. I hope this is somehow comprehensible.
Any idea what we can do about it?
I don't use CM anymore, but when I used to run CM9 that happened to me occasionally. Restoring a backup or reflashing the rom & kernel directly over the top of the current instal without wiping (if you're using another kernel) was the only thing that fixed it for me. You may find that reflashing the rom/kernel doesn't work; if it doesn't, I'd do a clean install (wipe/etc; tho I never had to do this to fix this problem).

[Q] Device vibrates when textbox is pressed or when a dowload is in progress

Hi Guys
Sorry if this is in the wrong section.
About a week ago I ran out of mobile data and so every time I tried to access the internet I would get a notification asking to sign into the network. But at the same time every time I would press a text input or download an app even on wifi my phone was vibrate as if I received a notification. I put it down to it trying to send mobile data. Anyway, my monthly allowance has been refreshed and the problem still persists. So I am starting to think it is not the device trying to send mobile data.
I am also running CM10.1 if this helps.
Thank you in advanced.
Update
I think I have made some progress into what is causing the vibrating. I think it is now down to whenever a notification appears/changes. Whenever a textbox is pressed the keyboard notification icon appears. When downloading the download icon appears and is constantly changing. I have changed the settings to stop the Vibrate on Notification setting, but it still vibrates not matter what.
Problem Solved
I have figured out the issue. It was a problem with one of the profiles I had created in CM10. I can't remember what the setting was I changed but I reset the profiles, recreated one for work where I set all volumes to zero. The notifications now don't vibrate like they used to. It was just a coincidence that this happened around the same time I ran out of mobile data.
