Dumb questions but I want to know.....
I'm using the 4 tab unlock
what exactly does lockscreen delay setting do compared to lockscreen timeout? I know the one is the amount of time the lockscreen takes to go dark but which is which?
I blame it on all my partying when I was in my 20's if the questions is that dumb.....
Currently 32 views & no input.... Does anyone know? Using Project V....
Lockscreen timeout is how long the screen will stay on when the lock screen is active. The delay is how long it will take to turn on under the conditions selected in the app

I would like to extend from 10 minutes, the standard maximum possibility on Ics for lock the screen. Do you know if it is possible?
I was supposing it was some parameter on the system.
Thanks.
Hi,
In order to increase the wakeup time, follow the following steps:
System->Display-> Sleep and from the menu select the time you want...
In my phone, I have 30 minutes as maximum time.
Hope this resolve your problem.
I use a widget called screen toggle timeout to set mine to never

Thanks for your responses but...
- If you increase the screen time, it will be ever displaying.
- My company forces me for strong password when screen is locked. The solution I need is something can increase the delay time between the screen is off and the screen is locked. I have tested many solutions in the market but it dont work: everytime you getup the device the password screen is the first action, later the application that apparently can extend the delay, I expect you understand my meaning.
I think the delay time of the lock screen after the screen is off (from seconds to 10 mins) is stored in some table in the system, and maybe is not complex to change...
Hi, would like to ask, how do you adjust the brightness when you're online? I noticed that when I use the internet, the brightness would not change (still dim). I tried adjusting the brightness through the settings but it will only light up on the home screen. hope you'd understand my question. thank you all.
Open up the browser, push menu button and then select brightness and colors.

thank you dnlgee. pardon my ignorant question. this is the first time i am using an android phone.
Is this the same on others devices .. when I unlock my screen the widgets and apps sometimes need a second time appear
The weather clock. Alarm widget. Google search etc all disappear as if they are not loaded .. is this a feature to save power or a design flaw ??

I've noticed that too. Like it has to load everything up again. Annoying.

Same here with Nova launncher.
This is where I envy IOS
Here comes the whaaambulance!!!
Seriously though. I think its designed to do that. Not so much the part where they take a second to load, but to save power maybe by using less ram? I dunno.

Ah yeah sounds right to save ram it's not bothering me as such just used to HTC
Another thing anyway to delay the screen lock when I'm using the phone ... I don't want to have to change the screen lock each time from none to pattern lol

The worst part is, if I wake up phone from deep sleep them the animation on the lock screen lags.
And even the main screen would lag for few seconds before it becomes super snappy.
This wake up lag and screen refresh is very embarrassing.
My gf's I Phone never does that and she teases me a lot because of this.
I have to sollow my pride :screwy::screwy::thumbdown::thumbdown::thumbdown:

Anyone else experiencing a substantial lag on waking the phone up? Not to be a stickler, but it's pretty much a full second from when I press the power key until the screen wakes up.

Yes, see the thread "sluggish waking up" in the q&a feed. Disable the ripple effect on the lockscreen. Worked for me. I've since re-enabled the ripple effect and have not noticed the lag.

I actually disabled the ripple effect right when I turned it on.
I'll toggle it on/off again and see what happens

I read in a different thread if you completely turn it off it's pretty quick. I use Widget Locker with root helper enabled. It's pretty speedy once you disable the stock lockscreen.
Mine's better too after disabling ripple.. I wonder if it has to do with the phone going into a deep sleep state combined with loading up the ripple?
Ok, so where do we disable the ripple effect?
Under settings:lock screen:lock screen settings. Uncheck ripple effect

I don't know how to quite explain myself with this question. Whenever I use a live wallpaper for my homescreen and lockscreen, the way to unlock the phone is to press and hold your finger on the screen. The unlocking visual is a lock that simulates an unlocking motion. The only time that I have seen this visual for unlocking the phone is when a live wallpaper is currently being used, My question is ... how can I use that same unlocking visual along with any wallpaper that I chose instead of only live wallpapers? Is that possible?
I'm sorry if I could not explain it well, its difficult to put into words
If you want to know how exactly how to see what I am talking about follow these steps:
- open up system settings
- go to display
- go to wallpaper
- select home and lock screen
- select the live wallpapers and choose beautiful widgets live or ripple wall
- after selecting it, just press the power button to make sure the power turns off
- press power button again to wake up the phone and you should see the unlocking visual that I mentioned when you press your finger to the screen.
Please let me know, thanks
Turn off ripple effect and use a static wallpaper image

Don't! It took me a couple days too. Same exact issue. I was like how the hell do I get the quicker lockscreen? Then felt dumb when I realized how simple it was. Haha but using the ripple effect on Jedi 14 because he made it so damn fast and smooth.
