Is it possible to port the 2.1 timescape into a 2.2 ROM? i actually prefer the UI to the ARC style one.( it looks really crappy) the 2.1 one feels "fuller". Cheers
No it's not possible.
And the timescape on our stock firmware sucks ass, it's so slow that you wouldn't wanna use it if you are pursuing speed using a custom rom.

For obvious reasons, i want to switch over to a custom ROM, most likely Z's CM7. However, I am dead addicted to the the SE stock UI (UXP, if you may say). I just love the blue backgrounds everywhere, the messaging interface, the phonebook, the music player and the dial screen, and I don't think I could live without it.
Is there a way I could integrate these UXP elements into a the CM7 ROM?
Can i just copy-replace the framework-res.apk and SemcGenericUxpRes.apk and other apks (phonebook.apk, semcmusic.apk, phone.apk etc) into /system/ folders? Or is there any other workaround?
I am wondering the exact same thing, just installed CM7.1 and dont like the dialer at all, really miss the SE dialer and messaging etc.

Woldbreaks custom rom maintains the SE UI. You could give that a go! It's one of the main reasons I went for it myself.
Try Erickwills EWJet with full SE option, uses original styles, but is super-smooth

Ok i checked the screens & the descriptions...its very much the original SE UI with custom tweaks. One question - How's the camera on this ROM? Does it work normally (8mp/720p HD)?

It works perfectly fine, since it's stock ROM!
I was thinking could some one port the original Android 1.6 Timescape Launcher and stuff ? Old Goodies !!
I seriously hate the new dark timescape !! It sucks and it is so damn slow !!

it seems like sony will incorporate their own launcher and UI... quite a downside there because i really like the ics UI. not totally sony's though, they just trying to differentiate themselves from other manufacturer.

are there any full xperia ports for the desire ? using arcygen which is half oxygen and xperia arc feels not full enough for my liking.
what is infinity view ? is it se's contact app ? i have it in the arcygen rom but it force closes when i click on it in timescape or the timescape widget it says infinity view force close .. what components do i need to make it work ?
what other se apps /widgets are there in the se arc rom ?( i know se is closer to stock android in comparison to sense ui)

I'm using XPERIAICS ROM beacuse i can't live without XPERIA UI, but neko95's IcySnap is faster, as far as i know it has some tweaks for faster speed, and it's really smooth. Is there any download link for these tweaks,or they are icySnap-exclusive (wich will be bad).
if u knw to extract them well .. you can use them for your personal use... neko would not mind that... but if you make it public with some other rom.. then you must atleast tell him about it.. :fingers-crossed:
we need his permissions to remove the tweaks and make it public.. ask him :good: he would surely help
It's just if IcySnap had XPERIA UI i would love to use it as it's the best ICS ROM for O1, and it's truly fast, even faster than CM7, but XPERIA UI is XPERIA UI and it's a dealbreaker for me
I just want the tweaks,nothing else, so i can enjoy smooth ROM,as i have some lags with XPERIA ICS and low game framerate,

I think that the problem is that the features and changelogs are TOO detailed. Lol. I read that, but I rtfm as much as possible
