Hi I'm currently running Simply Honey 3.8 with touchwiz 4, and I noticed in the settings it says you can choose a theme, but yet I haven't found any place to get one. Where might I go about getting a few? Sorry if this has been asked before
I would like to know as well.....
this answer maybe wrong, But TW4 is from SGS2 have u thought of checking the SGS2 forum on here?
I found a way to create your own themes, it's actually as simple as compiling some icons together into a .zip file, naming them appropriately, and applying the theme thru the touchwiz settings. No scripts, no nothin'. I'll post directions tomorrow

Well, I've looked around a lot and I can't find much clear instructions so I figure this post won't be only beneficial to me. I've rooted my GS2 and flashed a few roms and stuff, but I can never get some of the UI elements to my liking. There's always one or two things that's missing from one ROM, that's there in another, but that one misses something from the previous. Anyway, I'd really appreciate some help in learning to theme my GSII. I just got rid of CM7 #116 and went to this http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1168836&page=942
CriskeloRom V38. It's pretty nice but I'd like to change some of the icons and stuff. Firstly I'd like to change the battery icon, the wifi and edge icon, and maybe the icons in the notification bar. Also what I'd REALLY love is to figure out how to add my own animations or transitions and stuff. I've always been jealous of how smooth iPhones seem to be because of the transitions they have. And the overscroll bounce has been disabled, I'd also like to add that back. I think some of these things can be done thru JKay mod, but I'm not sure how and I don't wanna go around flashing stuff that I'm clueless about. All helps is appreciated, thanks a lot guys Oh and forgot to mention, I'd also like to know how to increase the number of apps shown in the recent apps
Read a lot, or get an iphone

Yeah, I have been. I'm not finding much info, hence the reason I'm asking a question. I'm not illiterate. I was just hoping some more experienced users could point me in the right direction since I'm still fairly new to this.

you can enable the overscroll bounce with jkay deluxe settings. you can disable it if you want. regarding animations or transitions again you need to find a rom that supports them..look around in the threads and you will find roms that have them.heck themes now add them so if you want to flash a rom and then flash ics theme you are guaranteed to have what you are after...so here is what i would do in your situation:
either get go launcher from market. It gives so you so many options regarding animations or transitions between homescreens and app screens. that is what i am currently using. then no need to flash a rom since the launcher gives you all that
second. go into jkay thread and read on how the settings work and read the changelog
third find a rom and then a theme to suit your needs
Its the Devs and Themers that have that information but they tend not to read the Q&A or General section .
General section of XDA.com may have more info .

Thanks for the reply i tried enabling it but the option is there, and also there aren't any of the overscroll bounce packages available for XXKL1 as far as I've read.. I'm using a rom with an ICS theme and a few transitions right now but I thought it'd be cool to customise them how i like. I'll need to read a bit more about JKay though. I like Widget Locker but last time I tried it, I got bad battery drain. Think I'll give it a go again and see though.

Thank you. I'll try looking more in that section or maybe ask my question there if anything

Go launcher is a good shout but if you're really a big theme fan, flash a miui rom. I recommend galnet personally. Enjoy!

Try looking in the android dev threads. Lots of theming info and tools to decompile/recompile etc.
See how you go from there.

Has anyone come across any good themes for MIUI? I am loving this ROM but would love to change it up some.
Miui v4 is a great one, if you like the Miui stock look but want something a little sharper/more modern.
Probably my favorite is the theme "Metro." It's worth checking out.
Where do I get new themes?

This one was awesome when I was on MIUI:
http://blackandroidtheme.blogspot.com/p/miui.html
I'm currently rocking NeonGT. Here's a link to the series, they have a few different colors and they're all very well done. Also, I plan on making a theme of my own pretty soon that you might be interested in when the time comes.
Do a search for MIUI.us on Google. Under development in the forums you will find themes. Also I just found Micentral(click on themedex) has all the good themes with links to original post.
If you open up the "Themes" app, you can click "Resource Detail".
You can view all of themes available. Some may show in Chinese on there, but when you install it it is all in English.
Oh and also:
I prefer mixing and matching parts of themes.
Just go to whatever theme you want (has to be downloaded already).
And un-check whatever you don't want to apply.
I prefer the Black Ice lock screen, so I would go to Black Ice, scroll down, and un-check everything but that.
I know it's possible, but how do I go about putting the CM7 rings lockscreen in stock? i.e. what lines do I need to code in what file, images I need to replace, etc.?
i also have a CM7 ROM zip for another phone with the same specs on my computer for comparison if it's going to be helpful at all.
i hate bumping up a thread, but does anyone know?
You can use widgetlocker in combination with an app that removes your lockscreen.
EDIT: You can also use UOT kitchen.
Widgetlocker doesn't have the CM7 rings...
and I would like to put it into the framework of my ROM.
does somebody know how to do this?
Are there any themes for the Galaxy Tab 10.1 supporting the CM9 T-Mobile Theme Manager?
If not, feel free too post links or themes.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1643406
Anyone else have trouble with themes? I've tried a couple and the manager says it's not compiled correctly and doesn't apply.
yeah, me too. Probably not suited for tablets, only for the SGS2
I've been working with a number of theme developers to remedy this situation. It's not clear what the issue is--but simple themes are more likely to work than those that are more complete.
going to take a shot in the dark here but going to say the xml is the cause of all the issues..
Hey guys I have 2 questions.
1. Im looking for some nice homescreens that were themed and how to make them. If anyone can provide hwo they made it with a picture that would be awesome.
2. Is ther any rumors on when Verizon will release 4.1.2 or any sort of update.
Thanks for your attention
Anyone would like to help me.Would be appreciated
I just use Go Launcher for my themes but if your looking to do some really custom stuff you might have to go another route. Have you checked youtube
Yeah I have but i dont really like using launchers and such. I like TW.
It really depends on how much you want to theme. If you're not rooted, you can download widget apps such as Beautiful Widgets or HD Widgets and use those as well as change the icons for apps. If you're rooted you can basically theme whatever you want. A good place to look for theming is youtube. If you wanted to, you could even go to the "Screenshot of your homescreen" threads and if they are popular people usually ask how to get them. This will give you a good idea of what to use.
To answer your second question, Samsung has already started pushing the 4.1.2 Jelly Bean update to the International version of the Note 2 so it won't be too long before we get it on ours. Hopefully early 2013.
