[Q] signature verification failed

just had a E:Signature verification failed on a stock update. Clockwork kicked in. Not sure what it means? I have updated before clockwork without issue. I hope this is not a clockwork issue...
I do have the same prooblem:
I need nandroid backup on my tab. I have installed Rom Manager ClockworkMod ROM Manager and found out that it's not working on Euro version ( Read somewhere the problem with E3 vs E2. )
The Error was: Verifying update package...
E: failed to verify whole-file signature
E: signature verification failed
Galaxy Tab
Model:GT-P1000
Baseband ver: P1000XXJHA
Kernel ver: 2.6.32.9 ( [email protected]#1)
Build number: FROYO.XXJMA

Signature verification
I had a similar problem flashing Fresh Rom to my Evo. I noticed in Clockwork it gives me the option to toggle verification signature: enable disable. Simply disable the verification and you are all set. Its actually very simple fix. DO NOT FLASH ANYTHING YOU ARE POSITIVE WILL WORK OR WON'T BRICK YOUR DEVICE. I never flash anything that doesn't have 20 comments on.
for me there is no such function in the galaxy tab

faield to verify whole-file signature

I am trying to backup my rom on an SGS2 and installed Flash ClockworkMod Recover 4.0.1.5 via ROM manager but when I click backup ROM I get this error:
E:faield to verify whole-file signature
E:signature verification failed
Installation aborted.
Stop using ROM manager
Flash this kernel.
CWM installation via rom manager is fake. Flash any kernel that has cwm. Codeworkx's kernel for example. Boot into recovery and choose backup. If you are worried about renaming your backup folder, you can do it provided, there are no spaces in between characters.

How to flash Entropy's Kernal on CWM

I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong. I keep trying to flash the .zip file but it says it's denied or something like that. I really want to get this ROM working on my Galaxy but I'm not going to flash until I get the recovery saved first. I hope I make sense.

Turn off signature verification in the install zip from sd card menu and try again. It should work once you have done that
Wait, are you trying to use CWM to flash Entropy's CWM release? 'Cause the only release I've seen from him is his Daily Driver release, a version of CWM.
If that IS what you're trying to flash, you need to use Odin or Heimdall.
Extract the zimage file from the .zip. In Heimdall, you'll want to flash that file to the kernel in heimdall, or let Odin flash it wherever it belongs.

What recovery are you using? What ROM are you coming from? It is important to have a kitkat compatible recovery (CWM 6.0.4.8 or newer/TWRP 2.7 or newer).
