Can anyone recommend a good pdf viewer mainly for textbooks? I had a transformer and they have a really good reader called "My Library". I like the fact you can double tab on any part of the screen and it will fit the page vertically so you can just scroll left and right to view the left portion and right portion of the page without scrolling up or down. Does anyone know a app that does something like this? I just bought ezPDF reader and when I double tap it zooms too far in so instead of fitting the page vertically. This is all in portrait mode if that matters.
Haven't tried it myself, but saw on the mobi forums that a lot of people like Mantano Reader (https://market.android.com/details?id=com.mantano.reader.android&feature=search_result). Seems to have a bunch of PDF features plus epub abilities.

I'm using this app to read a book but it doesnnt save progress and I can't use the bookmark function. I see the button at the button that I believe to be the book mark key, but nothing happens when I press it.
Its as if that part of the menu isn't there because tapping affeects the page like normal.
Can anyone enlighten me here because this is easily the best PDF app if bookmarking will work.

Mine does the same thing, also the button to the right of it with an arrow on the document doesn't do anything on mine. I know I am pushing them correctly because the table of contents button to the left of the bookmark one works just fine. I just got EZpdf reader a couple of days ago so I don't know much about it either.
Its gotta just be the nooks screen vs what the apps used to.. I guess...
But on a positive note, how sweet is the page turning effect if you drag slowly from the bottom corner...
ill answer for you, its really sweet.

Oh.... interestingly enough, today when I opened my book from the recent docs tab, it loaded right to the chapter I stopped at..? I confirmed this by killing all apps and then starting ezpdf again and sure enough I got the same result.

Can someone please tell me how to highlight or underline text so I can come back to it easily later?
In my experience, you have to save the document in the internal memory (download folder, for instance). when close it wipe left to right ove the left side of the screen to see the options side panel amd close the document clicking on the X. Doing this, the document should open where you left it off. Bookmarks might work then, but my problem, when i sync the document in the cloud and open it in another device the bookmarks have dissapered. real annoying after spending time bookmarking all the important pages.
Hope this is useful guys
Im looking for a pdf reader that allows you to view the pdf stretched out so that the whole screen is used. Not just let you zoom in because then some of the text on the sides isnt visible.
I need the whole screen to see the pdf even if the letters are stretched weird.
Anything out there? TIA!
So I was looking for an app with palm rejection for the Transformer Prime. I was kind of looking for something similar to Notetaker HD for the iPad which uses the bezel of the tablet as the palm rejection area.
I couldn't find anything similar on the Android market so I decided to give another try on Supernotes. What I ended up doing was putting a regular computer mouse pad on top of the tablet and using the "Guided Line" feature to make sure that I was on the right spot. So far so good, this is in fact the best solution that I found and works way better than any other app!
However I'm having problems reading my own notes. I can't seem to find a simple Zoom feature on Supernotes, so could someone tell me how to zoom in? If it is not possible, are there other apps that have a similar "guided-line" feature and its as organized as Supernotes.
Thanks a lot!
I am not aware of a way to zoom in SuperNotes either. That has been my biggest problem with it.
Here are some handwriting apps that I have tried on the Transformer Prime that have zoom features that you may want to check out:
LectureNotes: my favorite (so far). Has scroll bars and zoom feature so you can write in the zoomed mode. Has option to enable a "save zone" for palm detection. 3 standard pens, and 12 custom pens that you can configure the size, color, and opacity. Can add multiple layers (overlays) to each page. Can enter text via keyboard. Can add keywords to each page, and search across notebooks for those keywords. Developer is very responsive, and has implemented suggestions and fixes quickly. There is a free trial version (limited # of notebooks and pages), and a paid version.
Writepad Stylus: Very good palm detection. Has zoom mode (can write in zoom mode), and scrolling. 3 standard pens, and 4 custom pens. 4 paper types, but cannot change the pattern size. Can enter text via keyboard, but it's a bit quirky.
Antipaper Notes: No palm detection. Has zoom mode, (can write in zoom mode), and scrolling. 6 pen sizes in 3 colors (15 colors in Pro version). 4 paper patterns, but cannot change the pattern size. No text entry for keyboard. Free and Pro version.
Hope this helps...
Yeah note taking apps on android are really behind ios right now but it seems like things are picking up. Hopefully in few months we will see something comparable to Notability.
Try wearing a glove or long sleeve. Better than carrying around a mouse pad.

Have you tried to enable palm rejection using TouchScreenTune app from the market? It should allow palm rejection support everywhere in all apps.

I think that TouchScreenTune requires your device to be Rooted, correct? I've been holding off rooting my Prime, but this may be a good reason to do so.
I am sorry if this has already been discussed, but this is now going on day 3 of trying to read my textbooks on my Nook...
I am just trying to find something that will be full screen, and not vertical scroll, but horizontal scroll or paginated....that is all...I would appreciate any input on this..
and by full screen i mean without the margins that are there with Aldiko and Kindle and dozens of other pdf readers...i want the whole page to fit in the whole screen...i do not know why i am having a hard time with this...
i will admit i do not read PDF's all that much..and when i do it's on my computer...so if i am asking something that is impossible then please let me know

ezPDF is super-configurable, and it can scroll vertically or horizontally or by flipping pages. you can double-tap to zoom on text, and move from page to page, section to section, or even column to column easily by tapping and it auto-zooms to fill up the screen really nicely as you go. You can even crop PDF files on all pages to eliminate white-space and make the text fit the screen better. It's not free, but I highly recommend it. It's also updated pretty often. You definitely need to take the time to play around and mess with the various options, it's not super-easy to use or configure because there's so many options. It's also pretty fast.

I'll give it a go...thank you
Another option
There's also a "lite" version for $1, which just has the PDF functionality. I use this one and it works really well. Recommended.
Hi,
I had a PDF document opened in Moon+Reader Pro (on Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8.0) in Portrait mode. With this PDF if I swiped from Right to Left the pages transitioned over the page borders. If I removed my finger mid way I would be able to see part of left page, a thin border and part of the (following) right page. If I swiped again I would progress to the next page. Swiping in the other direction allowed me to do the reserve. This feature was fantastic for viewing wide photos that span two pages.
Putting it differently I could have part of page x and part of page x+1 on the screen.
After reading this PDF I deleted it and then decided to tinker the settings. From this point on wards any PDF I open no longer supports this function. Now as I swipe the pages do shift as described above but the moment I remove my finger the page "adjusts" so that a single page is visible.
This feature is really useful to me. I really like Moon+ Reader but would consider any Android app that supports this feature for PDFs.
Thanks for your help
