So, Hulu Plus has been released to specific devices...not including ours.
The APK has been posted here (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1136634&page=3 ), except that on launch, it notifies us that video playback isn't supported on the device.
Can someone rooted test this out with their build.prop modified to one of the supported devices (see build.prop info here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=13952218&postcount=722 ), or can someone more knowledable with APK hacking disable the device checking?

Changing the build.prop kills the samsung services including the keyboard and several widgets.
and oh yeah, it doesn't get us hulu either.

for the Droid Incredible 2 on my g-tab 8.9, and it works perfectly--EXCEPT that the video is cell-phone-size, takes up about a quarter of the tab's screen. Maybe starting with that, someone could figure out how make it the right size?
Just watch hulu from the browser with the modified flash player. I have been doing that for months now.

Yeah I would like for them to just release it for us as well as take out ads since we pay.

Come here for the Modded apk that works on any device. Does not require root or messing with any other files. Just install the regular way and off you go.

These are two things I could never do on my vibrant, so I'm always taking my wifes iphone to do to do them. Will the s2 be capable of this. Dont want an iphone but these are pretty big for me.
My galaxy s could open pdf just fine using think free office, (which came pre installed from samsung) but was also freely available in the market.
The sgs2 comes with polaris office, which works just as well.
Hmmm my problem was emails mostly, I could never open the attachments, does it work for that

you click the attachment, it downloads and opens with your pdf viewing app. You can do that with any android phone that supports to app to my knowledge
No Netflix I'm afraid and I doubt it'll be coming any time soon as Qualcomm have it as an exclusive for their snapdragon handsets which is allegedly because of DRM.

why would netflix do that.. right now the only thing stopping me from getting a netflix account is that i cant use it on my phone..isnt there some sort of port for it to work on regular phones?
Adobe reader works just fine for PDF files. and its free. Download from the market place.

This was working a while back but Netflix put a stop to it. The EVO is also a Snapdragon phone.

Screen image distorted
tried both versions of this mod and the "Home Screen" is completely distorted. Anyone else having this problem.
Yeah the image is distorted for me too, but video is fine.

Hi there. So you're saying that you tried uninstalling flash and you couldn't uninstall it? There was also an update this morning. Is your flash player up to date?
Yea I updated to the most current flash..and when I open the July app..u can navigate to the free hulu site..and when I do..it says to please upgrade flash to 10.2 or above.
Although the free clips part works..I thought this app would allow the free hulu. Part to play..which it doesn't.
I tried uninstalling my current flash to see if it worked, but it didn't.

It's only for Hulu Plus subscriber. It's not a free service.
This is fantastic! Didn't feel like messing with the actual flash apk to get it to work and this saved me the hassle. Talented devs never cease to amaze me.

Your mod did work on build x.11, but I upgraded to .11.1, per the recommendation of the creator of the ViperMod root tool, and now your fix no longer works. I'm disappointed. Anyone not on .11.1, this Hulu Mod works great, if you're rooted of course.

I am not rooted and the apk worked for me. It seems a little buggy (it forced a reboot once, and timed out once, but then it proceeded to work), however, it did work at playing an episode of Parks and Recreation.
I don't even watch that much TV, but I like knowing that I can if I want too.

I'm on the latest flash update and I have no problems streaming Hulu from browser. Try running script manager again. I have the widget going so I can just one click it if for some reason it didn't activate on boot.

I was wondering if anyone else was having the problem I am having with this modded app. I can stream movies, or shows that don't contain ads just fine; however if a show begins with an ad, the player just sits and says it's buffering indefinitely. If I play an old movie that contains no ads, the video plays fine.
I am using a rooted TF201 with Virtuous Prime ROM.

I had this problem also and had to disable adaway or whatever ad blocker you are using prior to starting the hulu app.

Installed the app today and works fine until you plug in your micro hdmi out to your tv, then you get a wonderful message that hdmi output has been disabled and it stops streaming.
One day they will get it right!

I tried to duplicate the problem but it works fine for me. Streams and scales perfectly. I'm running Virtuous Prime ROM; not sure if that has anything to do with it.
Surely someone knows how to view HULU from the Tab? I saw the apk for Plus users... what about those who are not plus users?
What are you doing to watch on your Tab?

Theres akludgy workaround using modified flash. I just use DroidLu which works great but is not in the market currently. i am sure you can google the apk

Better off with splashtop as it allows you more control of your home pc so you watch hulu, watch movies stored on your pc and also play some of your pc games...remotely

That is encouraging to hear... I got Splashtop when it was the free app on Amazon... never even opened or installed it. I will explore that tonight.
The app I put in the OP works.... you can see Hulu... but it is not prime time. Lots of hiccups.
Looks like flash browser was updated. Supports ics. Still doesn't play well with cm.
Forgive me if I've posted in the wrong forum mod, feel free to move to Q & A in necessary. Is there a way to "trick" the market into not showing as a rooted device in order to play movies rented from the market to play on my rooted device. I do have Netflix and works great but as most of you know, movies aren't as current on Netflix as in the rental category of the android market.

There's an modified apk floating around the AT&T galaxy note forums that works. I saw the mod scold the person who posted it for posting Warez or cracked apps (even though it's technically a system app)? I think it was in a post by TPC or twopumpchump? Good luck

Is it safe for an app to collect a device's imei to their server? The EULA claims that it is used to verify the device. It is in the privacy policy.

OK all, while this app seams to have everything I would want it has one major thing I don't want LAG. just wondering is it doing this to everyone or just me? What I mean is this, when it plays a video it plays about 2 sec then buffers, but in the youtube app the same video will play with no issues. I am useinf the free version and have un installed and re installed it already. Also I am getting throttled speeds on ATT however as I have said youtube works just fine. Any ideas?

I haven't experienced any lag as of yet. Both on Flapjaxxx's UCLE2 and CM9.

No lag here and I'm still on FJ's GB ROM.
With more use I've noticed it seems to be only YouTube and only.the hd videos, any other site with hd works fine and the YouTube app with hd works fine. Might just be that I'm throttled, I'll post back after my new bill cycle and update. Just asking is anyone else throttled and working right? By the way I'm only getting hspa+ in my area. But still a GREAT app for anyone, thanks again for sharing.
