Can we replace the stock SE 2.1 phone.apk and contacts.apk to an eclair apk? i really dont like SE contacts layout.

As I am on WolfBreaks 6.1.3 rom (FroYo 2.2.1), I have no calendar but the one from Google that came with the install.
I really dislike this calendar and I'd like to know if there is any possibility of porting the Arc calendar to the X10 (as with launcehr/contacts/phone and whatnot)?
If this is not achievable, I'd like to know if it's possible to use calendar.apk from one of the stock 2.1 reposiories here at XDA?
How would I go about installing such an APK-file when system/app already contain the file calendar.apk (the installed google calendar)???

Has anyone got the email.apk working with Khal's V2 Miui Rom & a yahoo email account? I tried several times, it posts that username/password not recognized. K--9 email works fine.
Please tell me from where I can download the Email.apk that comes with MIUI?

What I like from original Samsung email.apk is the presence of mail preview on the right screen while in landscape mode, no other email apk in market having this feature.
I tried to replace the MIUI email.apk (I used NDT MIUI GINGER 2.3.7 v10) with Samsung email in the rom \system\app then rezip again then run CWM recovery.
The rom install perfectly but without any email app.

miui wont have any samsung framework will it? thought it needed that to use their email app
I have no idea, samsung email.apk size around 7MB, while MIUI email.apk size around 600KB. I start to think it can be all in one, stand alone install for Samsung email.apk since the size is a lot bigger.

running cm7.2 on the aria and the stock email client 2.3.4 using active sync only syncs the first 4 personal folders folders from exchange. ive installed other stock version 2.2 etc...but i cant get them to work, force close issues etc...Is there an update past 2.3.4 for the stock gingerbread email client? Can I flash an ICS email apk into gingerbread?
K9 wont hook up to my exchange server for some reason but it works fine for imap though.
Any suggestions or links to updated stock gingerbread email.apk's is appreciated.
