Seems to be nice.
But I don't have use for it as it doesn't work with WIFI direct (it needs a WIFI network where both devices are connected to).
Thanks anyways...
Oh, forgot to mention the details... the phone restarted itself after showing the error briefly, when I tried to use the hotspot type of connection.

...sorry, but it doesn't work.
The problem I mentioned started when I tried to start a share "from" the Desire X to another device using "Wifi direct" via hotspot type of connection.
Summary:
Yes, both devices do have "SuperBeam" installed, but it fails at creating a share on the Desire X already.
The only alternative then is having both devices connected to an existing Wifi network.
That is not what I'm looking for.

Matt

[Q] Microsoft Exchange email doesn't sync on office wifi

Dear All,
Appreciate your helps in advance. Android default email client when connected to office wifi doesn't sync my e-mails while if i configures my exchange account in enhanced email it works absolutely fine and all my emails starts syncing on same office wifi.
I was having an offline chat with my system administrator and he told me that they have blocked something to avoid IP pool full issue ( new users were not able to connect to office wifi as almost everyone was using two IP, one on smartphone and one on laptop).
Question is how enhanced email client is able to sync? Can i make some changes in default android email client to make it sync.?
My Edge connection is too slow to download emails and can't switch to 3g as it is a company provided connection.
Hope i am clear.
Devs please help. I badly need this.

Hi,
Try This.
Go to the global Sync settings in: Settings --> Data Usage --> Menu --> Auto Sync Data
Also about that blocking thing that your system admin is doing.
Instead of blocking devices from connecting through wifi,
Why don't he/she just add some more subnet on the network to cater everyone's devices.
Possible if your company's network devices are capable of certain configurations. (Expanding such network)
Or maybe it's just that your system admin really wants to limit the use of internet connection by allowing just 1 device per employee
Just a thought.
Hope i got you correctly.

It is already enabled. Device can connect to wi-fi for normal browsing but e-mails are not being synced.
Since most of websites are blocked in office , hence generally people don't connect only to surf .
Guys please help.

Did you try to log in to your wifi from your phone when the computer is off. My phone has trouble connecting when my PC is also using the wifi, and this is because of the way the IT Dept has set it up.

The only time I have this issue is if my computer is connected to the wifi first.
I would try a different email client, since you have been able to get this to work with the Exchange Client, maybe the issue is with your default email client. K9 mail is one of the most popular clients and I believe it is free. I have used it before and I was able to use it to connect to my work and home wifi with out problem.

[Q] LAN connection_Virtual router

Hello everyone, i am having a doubt regarding sharing of LAN connection. my college lab has got a high speed internet connection and often i do connect my laptop to access the internet through the LAN cable. I am just wondering if i can create a wi-fi hotspot in my lapy and use my grand quattro to use this hotspot. I tried some software like virtual router, connectify etc..but unfortunately none of them worked for me. by using these two software i was able to create the hotspot and even grand quattro was connected to the hotspot and wi-fi icon in the status bar was also blinking...but could not access the net..may be i was messing up with some settings:...any idea regarding this problem?:fingers-crossed: Any other method available?

indoor positioning system android application

my final year project proposal is " indoor positioning system based on smart phone", and need to make a software for it ..how can i solve it ..any idea
I suppose the first place to start would be seeing if you could use Wi-Fi or Bluetooth. You may be able to write a program that would tell you where the phone is in relation to the Wi-Fi router or a stationary Bluetooth device.
