I'v also tried:
Changing various radios and rom combinations

going back to 100% stock rom/radio
Tmobile Customer Care(waste of time)
I was running radio 2.14 .50.04

[Q] 3G acting strange..

So all of a sudden my TB's 3G started acting odd. It disappears (the 3G icon disappears) unless I'm checking for updates, in which case it randomly reappears and seems to be doing work. Toggling airplane mode on and off doesn't help nor does turning the phone on and off. I can still get texts and calls but no 3G...
Tried everything (going back to ROMs that were backed up from a few days ago) as well as flashing that full new ROM/radio update. Wasn't doing anything specific before it went out...
Any ideas?

I didn't find that this worked at all. Only since the new radio was installed have I found 3g drop because I know I am in a partial 4g area. So for the time being I don't want to turn of the ePHRD. Has anyone else experienced this since upgrading radio and such?

Well I did upgrade the radio and this fixed the problems I was having. Getting great speeds now. But I'm far away from any 4G areas :/
I am having all kinds of problems today with the 3g icon going on and off. Sometimes when its on I still do not have data connectivity. Is this a verizon problem or just the new radio?
I think it has to do with LTE being prepped to roll out and more intensive stress-tests that they may be planning.
I've been having similar issues. I did the entire rooting process then flashed BAMF 1.5 and had little radio issues, but once I saw the 3G cut out a couple times yesterday, I flashed the radio that was already on my SD card. Since then it randomly cuts in and out, and sometimes requires a full phone reboot to come back. I don't think it's Verizon at all (at least not in my case), although my area is supposed to get 4G sometime this year.
I'm hoping the official OTA has a "better" radio that can fix these issues...since I sort of had issues like this in Boston when I was stock, but at home out in Central MA, 3G was as solid as ever.
Just an update in case anyone was reading this older thread--I continued to have signal issues for a day or two after rooting but I think I just had bad timing on flashing the new radio. I've spoken to a few Verizon customers (my mom included) and many of them had 3G issues the last couple days. Yesterday it was solid as a rock, signal better than I'm used to. So it probably was just a Verizon outage, testing 4G or whatever it was that they've been doing.
It's Verizon outages right now, lots of testing upgrading going on with VZW right now.

4G outage in LA?

Hi guys, I recently flashed BAMF1.8 and MR2. It was working pretty well yesterday, but today I have no 4G at all and 3G seems to drop in and out at random. Sometimes, I don't even have 1x. Does anyone else have this problem? Is it a network issue or did I royally screw something up? Thanks!
im having the same problem i was using bamf sense 3.0 RC4 for a few days nd my mobile just stopped working. two days of flashing roms and radios i still got nothing verizon gave me a new sim nd still nothing i havent tried going back to stock, is that what i should do nd try to get a new phone? after trying to activate my phone online i have 1x now but i did have a few minutes of 3g/4g then nothing again HELP PLEASE!!!
I saw this same exact issue on Das BAMF Gingerstripped and it was really freaking annoying. The fastest solution was a reboot, but it was possible to wait it out until data comes back.
Another thing I started to play with before I flashed to CM7 was using Plane mode as a way to re-engage Mobile Networks (3G + 4G) to get data back. It worked sometimes, but other times nothing. So far running about 24 hours on CM7 and have not had this issue yet, where as on Gingerstripped BAMF I was seeing this problem daily.
I also just flashed the newest radio (1.70) and will see how that works. I'm hoping I just don't see this issue again at all, don't care if its due to CM7 or the radio. I just don't want to deal with it anymore.
Going to airplane mode and back didn't do anything. I guess its a problem with my phone then.
After disabling LTE completely, my phone works perfectly on 3G. Does anyone else in LA have 4G issues? I've flashed a bunch of roms and radios to no avail. I just want to know if I should keep tinkering or sleep on it. Thanks!

try going to a verizon store and see if their 4G devices work properly. at least that'll let you know if the network has issues.
ZIP = 90024
I've had no problems with 4g in northwest LA today. I'm Vanilla Bean's latest release on a froyo radio (can't remember which one, but it isn't the one that was leaked today)
I'm in ZIP 90007 and what's been happening is my phone seems to be connecting to 4G, but it doesn't work and just sits there. =\
It was stolen by Mexicans.

3G Headaches...

2 EVO LTEs, both running latest firmware package with updated radios. One running stock rooted, the other Mean Bean. Last night at a basketball game, my phone (Mean Bean) never could keep a connection, it would drop data, and go to 1x, then drop 1x over and over and I couldn't update my status let alone upload photos My wife's (stock rooted) had no issues. Held 3G all night and she could upload Facebook photos of the game.
Seriously what makes this happen? Can a ROM have any effect on the 3G connection? I already checked the build.prop for Mean Bean to make sure it wasn't including any of that 3G Turbocharger RIL changes which I know can cause connection problems in certain situations...
Actually, not the latest firmware, I didn't know there was a 3.16. They are both running 3.15 with the 3.15 radio/PRI/etc...
Have you tried updating your profile & Prl?? Also have you tried a data reset ??

I'm having this exact same issue, it seems to persist on any Sense or AOSP rom. Whats the deal? Do I need to update my radios or something? I'm on PRL 25009 and baseband 1.12.11.1119 currently running CM 10.1, but I've had the same problems no matter what ROM I'm on.

Yes i had the same problem with data connection and battery drain due to the crappy radio (1.12.11.1119).so I flashed a different radio and that fixed my problems.update your full firmware to the 3.16 base that includes the latest radio img.,but doesn't include the tp.img to the latest and then update your profile and prl.
You can get the full firmware here =

It seems all lte devices have this issue. For some reason lte devices constantly drop down to 1xrtt. My note 2 and Evo lte constantly do it while my gs2 and evo 3d hold a steady evdo connection. I also heard some ppl with the LGOG have the same issue. I toggle airplane mode on and off to get ehrp back on. It's a bit annoying but I'm betting it has to do with the device scanning for lte and making it drop to 2g.
