Hi all, rather than import all my contacts from my sim to the phone, I would rather the phonebook display the contacts in my sim card.
However there doesn't seem to be an option to display SIM directory contacts
Is this possible?
Help anyone?
I pretty dread transferring all my contacts to the phone
I usually store new contacts in the SIM

Hey guys, is there any way to import/export sim contacts permanently?
I ask because whenever i sync contacts, i get duplicate for every contact. Its annoying deleting cache and importing contacts everytime this happens.
If i add a new contact i cant save to SIM card, so i have to add the new ones everytime i import contacts from SIM.
Any way to solve this? i would be very happy if anyone can help to sort this out!

Gmail has a setting called merge duplicates , you can do that first and then sync.

I dont have gmail, i deleted it after rooting phone, and i tried contact2sim and it didnt work...........
Hello, Here is my issue,
Goal: want to add contacts to Favorite so i can access easlly reach them to call and send mail ans sms.
Problem: I press the "Import contact from Sim card". i see it coping my contact like 1 of 100------> 100, then it says completet, and you press OK.
But then nothing has been copied.
Any one that can help me solve this issue ?

"import contact from sim"...copies all contacts from sim card to phone,....for setting contact as favourite, it should be on phone, not on sim
i have the same problem as raphy82.
I import my contacts from SIM, the Pop-Up seems to copy the contacts from SIM to internal memory. but after copying, my contacts are not on my device. only on the SIM.
I use the newest official htc rom 3.14 since today.
I have found a solution for the contact import problem.
You have to open the sim manager in Phone/Contacts/Menu
Mark all your contacs and select copy in the menu.
Your phones copies your contacts on your sim to your device.

in my phone it says not "Copie" but "Contact to SIM ..."
Just click on that and Voila...
Now you have your contacts both on Sim and on Phone =)

Yeah, it is any way to make it always read and write SIM Contacts instead of Phone Contacts?
What i mean is when i open Contacts, it read from SIM
when i save new contacts, its write into SIM

the stock contacts app have an option to back-up contacts to sim. go to contacts, then press the hardware menu, choose import/export, then export to sim.
check your sim with another phone and see if the numbers gets exported. also, it is only name and numbers that are exported. other details, like pictures, gets left out.

maybe you'll not find it usefull but don't try with GO contacts cause i've just checked and you can't export to sim...

Aosp based Rom / contact app doesn't support using SIM contacts as default contact. You can only export SIM contacts to phone.
Samsung has 100% advantage over Google when it comes to contact management

- Open contact app
- press menu button, select contacts to display
- Check only the contacts you want to display.

with the CM10 you dont have access to the SIM card, so you cannot import/export to or from SIM card. no access at all to whatever you have on the SIM card...i have same problem, any help....? even third party apps from play store cannot access SIM card

Probably a bit long winded but you could make a backup, flash a stock rom, save ur sim contacts to ur sd card then restore ur backup and import them. I eventually realised there's no point in using ur sim card, I've just got all my contacts on Google now and use it by default, it syncs automatically so if u ever lost ur phone u could get ur contacts back on a new one easily
